00:18but uh i needed i needed cash and i never have cash and i'm always jealous of people who have
00:25cash and i was like yeah that's a good idea i need to do that but i don't carry a wallet i
00:29carry my phone and my phone case has my stuff in it and i don't there's not like room for cash yeah
00:35you know but uh i like when someone has cash and you know they can tip they can do whatever they
00:41need and that's what i needed i needed tip money i took my car through the car wash as you know
00:46because i told you earlier in the week i took my dog with me and she rolled the window down with her
00:51paw and we were in the middle of the car wash and all of a sudden the soap's coming into the car
00:56the dog's trying to lick up the soap i'm trying to figure out a way to close the window yeah that's
01:01no boy car watch is still going and the dog's trying to eat everything it was crazy um by the
01:07way if you missed that conversation we discussed like the craziest things that happened to you in

01:14the mania in the red morning show uh replay on demand so then my car goes through the car wash
01:19and then i get out and i take my dog with me and we are walking around and i see there's not one
01:27there's not two there's three guys hand drying and like wiping down my um you know the inside not
01:35doing a detail but just like you know armor rolling things wiping down vacuuming a quick cleanup of my car
01:40and my crap now i do remember being somewhere and in this day and age when a lot of people are like
01:47me who don't carry cash there would be a qr code that you can hold your phone up to and you can
01:54you know send a tip that way so like kind of i feel like started during covid times maybe yeah yeah
02:01and i'm looking around and then i see somebody and i go hey do you guys have a qr code so i can tip
02:06the dryers and like we don't cash only like crap and they're working on the car for like a good five
02:12minutes they have to get a tip so i take my dog we're walking around and i see this guy just sitting
02:18there and he's not on his phone or anything and i was like hey uh you got tip money for these guys
02:23they don't have a qr code and i'm like i don't have any cash and the guy goes yeah i always bring
02:27cash when i come to these things you're like well can i borrow some i'm like dad i don't need the
02:34lecture i just need some money so i go um hey weird ass but you have a couple extra bucks like
02:41three dollars so i could tip these guys and i'll venmo you back and the guy goes i got two fives
02:47i'm gonna use one i'll give you the other okay i go that's great can i venmo you back he goes
02:51eh holiday season don't worry about it don't worry about it i go no no no let me venmo you back because
02:55i feel really bad he's like no no it's five bucks you know just take it and tip the guys it's good for
03:00them i want them to have it which makes me feel even worse because i was like i need three bucks and
03:05he was almost like three bucks ain't enough son not only am i gonna tell you about how you should
03:11have cash i'm gonna tell you you shouldn't tip anything less than five i'm 50 years old the
03:15father of two children you know and i always learn these life lessons like every day something pops up
03:22that i'm like wow i've never had this happen before and now i need to know but am i carrying
03:26cash around in my car nope not in my car not in my phone i'm still not carrying cash i don't think
03:32you should leave cash in your car how about that um i used to leave i used to have an emergency 10
03:37bill but i don't know where it is i think the emergency happened and i never replenished it
03:41but it got me wondering though uh if you were like loren and you had to ask a stranger for money
03:46to uh fill your car up with gas like in loren's case or for me i needed some cash to tip the people
03:52who are you know drying my car off and detailing my car after i went through the car wash then we want

04:39actually a tip card that you can get at the car washes i didn't know that yeah so like when you
04:45decide what wash you want and you decide to buy the wash um as you're driving up to the guy that
04:51takes your money you can either tell them before or say for example if you get to the end of the
04:56line where they're drying everything off you can walk back through to the front and just tell them
05:01hey you know can i can i purchase some tip money and dollar for dollar whatever the value is if it's
05:06five bucks then you buy your tip card and they'll give you a little piece of paper that you give to
05:12the the people that dry it off the last time i did it i went through i bought the watch and i was like
05:16oh no i don't have any cash so i walked all the way back through made my purchase uh of the tip
05:22cards and they actually split it into two of them because there were two guys drying the vehicle
05:26they gave me uh two cards for two dollars and fifty you know what seth didn't do he didn't beg a
05:32stranger yeah for three dollars and the stranger goes take five and don't venmo me back and now that
05:38guy's sharing the story about how he had to give somebody money but why wouldn't the person who
05:41worked there tell me to do that it's weird maybe they didn't know maybe they were new yeah
05:46i've probably been doing that for like five years wow maybe they just want the cash too though it
05:51might mean more to them to take the cash so the guy was just trying to tell me i don't know why

06:02tips at the end of the night i didn't realize like the the money that i hand to the person who gives me
06:08my keys that's the person that the money goes to i mean there's more than one person working on my car

06:28well um i generally go to the grocery store and buy too much um of what i don't need so i was like
06:36well i'm just going to take a set amount of cash um i know what i need and this is how much it should
06:42be a general amount even a little extra well i went there and got off track or did some wrong math
06:49so i was like five dollars short and i was like i have a five in my car so i go out to my car
06:55and i come back in and i'm i'm red i'm embarrassed because this is like my local food line
07:01and i think he could tell because he was like i got it don't worry about it and i was like are you
07:05sure like you don't have to do that he was like yeah so then i went home and then came all the way
07:11back and brought him ten dollars and was like here you go oh and and he accepted it yeah he was like
07:18you didn't have to and i'm like i really appreciate you yeah it's good karma kayla that's right hannah

07:29i did and it was actually before i even made it into the grocery store it was my first time going
07:37to aldi and i didn't know that you had to bring a quarter with you and i had no loose change on me
07:43you can't get a uh a shopping cart or a buggy without a quarter uh-huh yeah they're jailed up
07:49they've got them locked away so i'm looking around and i'm like okay who is the most approachable
07:55person that i didn't ask for a quarter i did the same i was profiling yeah and i was like hey i'm
08:02new here so i went up to this sweet old lady and i was like hi this is my first time man i have a
08:08quarter she gave me her entire cart and it was the sweetest thing and that just became standard to me
08:14so now anytime i go to aldi i always have not one but two quarters and i always give my cart to anybody
08:20coming in as i'm leaving where did the uh where'd the older lady hannah pulled a quarter out of did
08:24she have to go in her coin purse so she just gave me her entire cart oh right right okay so she went
08:31yeah like that's what i'm wondering like you know like the older ladies probably have a hold on a
08:35second yeah i have a quarter here and she's here's a nickel i have a dime i have two dimes and a nickel
08:41two dimes and five pennies yeah thanks we appreciate it thanks hannah i love that all right you know
08:46what like the rule is is that everybody who's texting in also nobody got turned down when
08:51asking a stranger for money yeah nobody had a stranger say sorry i can't help you i love that
