00:00Welcome everyone. Thanks for tuning in to 2K Sports for this NBA presentation. I'm Kevin Harlan, joined courtside by Greg Anthony and Doris Burke, and it's Allie LaForest for us tonight on the sideline.
00:18Here we are in November, and let's see how things are going out east in the early season. And you take a look at this home team, they're in the upper part of the conference record driver, win fifth place.
00:30And now the Golden State Warriors starters. That court pair will be Curry and Pajemski. Jominguez steps in at the four with Green sliding up to center. And it's Butler in at the three. You've got Hachimura. Andre Drummond is out there with Kyle Filipowski. And it's Mitchell. And it's Ellis at the shooting guard.
00:51Doris, one of these teams is terrific defensively. The other one can score all the time, all game long. What's the key tonight?
01:00Kev, such a striking contrast in how these two teams win. So for me, what it comes down to is who is able to impose their style of play and their will.
01:10I think controlling the pace is the one big key in this one. I don't know that there's another guy in the league that would even think about it from that distance.
01:19It's uncanny how comfortable he is from that kind of range. Step Curry doing work. And yes, it's good. Boy, nice pass. A little ball movement, a little player movement. That's how you play this game.
01:32And now, Hallie LaForest has something for us from the sideline.
01:35Thanks. I caught up with the home team's head coach.
01:38He said, let's be honest. Jimmy Butler is one guy we have to be aware of at all times.
01:42When it comes to a player who's as versatile as he is, that means the D has to be versatile too.
01:48That means showing Butler various looks and various defenders. Guys?
01:52Okay, Hallie, thank you.
01:55Here's Pajemski.
01:57A look at his stance. He averages a bit over eight points a game.
02:01No problems knocking that one down.
02:03Curry's got six points.
02:05Ideally, you want to chase Stephen Curry off the three-point line.
02:08But folks, it is not as easy as you might think.
02:12Drummond finds Phil Lbowski.
02:14Three-pointer.
02:15Buries the long-range jumper.
02:17And an eye for an eye.
02:19Both teams working to stretch the floor.
02:22Well, that three-point shot just gives you so much room to operate on the offensive end.
02:27And early on, they look great.
02:29They've made all four of their shots to start this game.
02:35Mitchell feeling it out a bit.
02:39Played in with a nice touch off the glass.
02:41Just setting the tone with an aggressive move to the racket.
02:45And where's the help defensively?
02:47To me, that's a complete lack of communication on that side of the ball.
02:51These guys need to be talking to each other.
02:53And he makes the bucket, gets the whistle.
02:56And now a three-point play chance here for him.
02:59So it'll be Jimmy Butler shooting.
03:01Rui Hachimura picks one up.
03:03And Jimmy Butler is what some might call an old-school kind of player.
03:07Would you agree, Greg?
03:09Yeah.
03:09I mean, he's all toughness, grit, and basketball IQ.
03:13A tone setter at the defensive end.
03:15He plays unselfishly.
03:17That guy is all about winning.
03:20Now here's Ellis.
03:2212 points is last outing.
03:24Shoots.
03:26That's short off the rim.
03:28And I'm not sure that is a shot that he should be taking.
03:31Well, it's hard to imagine that the play was designed to go in that direction.
03:36Boy, I'd be surprised if we see that again.
03:39Here's Mitchell.
03:40Again, Charlotte.
03:41He was really on his game.
03:43Count that bucket.
03:44Well, Rui Hachimura has a chance to set up a teammate and look at the delivery.
03:48Well done.
03:50Outside.
03:51Kuminga.
03:54Back to Curry.
03:56There's the three.
03:57And the three ball is good.
03:59Curry's got 11.
04:00This is as good as it gets for first quarter in terms of shooting the basketball.
04:05Now a look at the stats for Rui Hachimura.
04:24And the stat to look at is his steal total over the last five games.
04:28He's been focusing more on his defense, trying to be a disruptor.
04:33And it's made them a lot tougher on D.
04:38He's looking for Drummond and finds him.
04:42Hachimura kicks to Mitchell.
04:44Pass to Drummond.
04:47And Drummond throws it down.
04:49Boy, power play by Andre Drummond.
04:52He has made a career out of stress testing the rims.
04:57And it's Butler with the ball.
04:58He'll bring it up for the Warriors.
05:00It's a five-point game.
05:04Green with the screen on Hachimura.
05:07Butler, no good.
05:10Gone five of eight from the field.
05:12Shooting over 62%.
05:13On the wing, Ellis.
05:17Shoots over Pujemski.
05:19Ellis can't get it to go.
05:21Oh, the defense very willing to live with that mid-range jumper.
05:25Floats it up for Kuminga.
05:28Jacks up a three.
05:32And there's Ellis.
05:33That's good on the assist by Mitchell.
05:35Five points in the game.
05:37And he likes to get in a rhythm early.
05:39Nice triple.
05:39Takes it inside.
05:43Okay, two hands for safety.
05:45That's what they say, right?
05:47That's right.
05:47He was ultra safe with that dunk.
05:49No question.
05:51Pass to Filabowski.
05:52Back to Ellis.
05:58Shoots over Pujemski.
06:01In the hoop for his third make from the field.
06:03He's three for four thus far in the contest.
06:05He is now three for four to start this game.
06:08Clearly, the confidence is already building.
06:10No one near Curry as he lets it go.
06:15Good.
06:15And Butler gets the assist.
06:17There is nothing Steph Curry can't do on the floor.
06:20He is a Hall of Famer.
06:22And right now, the defense has got to find a way to get him off balance.
06:26Now, here's Butler.
06:31Coming in off a 12-point game, his last outing.
06:34Three-pointer.
06:35Andre Drummond grabs the miss.
06:38Gone 8-12 on field goal attempts so far.
06:41Filabowski to the paint.
06:44That misses.
06:45Had a chance to tie it there.
06:47The Warriors leading.
06:48And we've got our 2K insider, Shams Charania, on the line.
06:53Shams, watch the story.
06:54Guys, one of the more lengthy free agency sagas revolved around Jonathan Kaminga.
06:59And many thought his time was up in Golden State.
07:02He saw fewer and fewer minutes down the stretch of last season and into their playoff run.
07:06But when Kaminga tested free agency, tested potential sign-in trade deals,
07:10nobody seemed to be the exact right fit.
07:13So eventually, he took the Warriors' offer.
07:16Guys, we'll see just how long this lasts.
07:18But for now, he'll continue to be in that Golden State uniform.
07:21We'll continue to track that story.
07:24Okay, Shams, thanks for the report.
07:27And the Warriors with a completely new 5 on the floor.
07:31Well, some great passes have come into the league this season.
07:34Let's see which rookies are tops in assists.
07:36Gone 2-of-2 from 3-point range here in the first quarter.
07:51Pass to James.
07:52Out to the right wing.
07:55Here's Hachimura.
07:57And a kind roll that time off the rim as that one falls.
08:01And they've had assists now in their last three baskets.
08:05Now, we'll hear it from Allie LaForce, and she's got a story for us.
08:08An update.
08:08Allie?
08:09Hey, the Warriors at last season's trade deadline, swinging the deal for Jimmy Butler.
08:14Stephen Curry said, him signing an extension is big.
08:17He's committed for this run.
08:19It creates expectations, which I love.
08:21We all thrive off of that energy and that kind of environment.
08:24We are up for the challenge.
08:26Guys, back over to you.
08:27They're clearly all in.
08:29Allie, we thank you very much.
08:31Here's Heal.
08:32The made shot from Andre Drummond.
08:35Well, Mr. Heal deciding to show you he's got a little athletic ability.
08:39How about that finish?
08:40Let's see the connected cam angle on that stunning play brought to you by AT&T.
08:47Now, here's Drummond.
08:49Coming in off a 10-point game in his last outing.
08:51Here's Mitchell, and it's sent back by Horford.
08:57The 10-footer.
09:01Melton, no good.
09:03Last game for the Warriors.
09:04It was a loss to the Celtics in Boston.
09:07Really a disappointing effort.
09:09That game could have and should have been closer than it was.
09:13Listen, I don't fault the effort.
09:15That was there all night.
09:16It was the quality of play that was lacking.
09:18There was not a ton of cohesion.
09:20They've got to figure it out.
09:23Heal, the pass to Horford.
09:2732 seconds left to play here in the first.
09:31Here's Melton driving to the basket.
09:34Can't get it to fall.
09:36Very well.
09:3858% the offense is falling right now early for them.
09:45Richard defended by Prince.
09:47Yes, that goes in.
09:48And they've repeatedly probed inside in the first half, guys.
09:53And it's paid off.
09:56Prince kicks to Mitchell.
09:59With four seconds on the clock.
10:01And then Mitchell with the dunk.
10:03And offensively right now, each team getting what it wants.
10:07Yeah, this is already a high-scoring game.
10:10But we knew that was a possibility coming into this one.
10:13It's the end of the first with a tie game here.
10:15And already these offenses are clicking.
10:17And back with the start of the second quarter in just a moment.
10:32And this has been a fairly close game through the first quarter.
10:35And we'll see what happens here in the second.
10:37Guys, what's your take on the home team so far?
10:39It's just a terrific first quarter, sparked really by their unselfishness.
10:44I'll tell you, that willingness to make the extra pass,
10:47that is what creates good looks.
10:49It also forces the defense to scramble.
10:55Golden State's gone 3-7 tonight from three-point territory.
10:59So with Curry sitting on the bench,
11:01here's the group that Steve Kerr has on the floor.
11:04They've got Horford.
11:05Butler out there with Gary Payton the second.
11:08Then there's Buddy Heald and Richard.
11:14Pass to Gay.
11:16It's Prince on the wing.
11:18Here's Gay.
11:19Covered by Payton.
11:21Oh, an aggressive move and fantastic finish.
11:24Trying to send a message with that slam, I think.
11:28And here's Heald.
11:29He'll bring it up for the Golden State Warriors.
11:31They'll be hosting Orlando for the next one.
11:34That game is the first and last of their home state.
11:36Here's Butler.
11:40And it's sent back by Prince.
11:43That's Ori and Prince has the kind of length and speed to close the gap and send it back.
11:48What a block.
11:48Number 77, Jamison Beckle.
11:53Doing extremely well.
12:0162% on the night to this point.
12:05Pass to Jordan.
12:07Good.
12:08And a nice assist from Prince.
12:11Prince has got three assists now in this one.
12:14The Warriors trail.
12:18Heel.
12:18The pass to Butler.
12:19And there's Butler with the flush.
12:25You love Jimmy Butler playing above the rim.
12:28That's a statement dunk right there.
12:31James dishes to Jordan.
12:33Back to James.
12:34Over Richard.
12:36Off the left rim and out.
12:39Warriors have gone two or three from the field here to open the second quarter.
12:42For three.
12:44DeAndre Jordan grabs the miss.
12:46It's hard to figure out how he doesn't knock that one down.
12:49No defender in sight.
12:51Gillespie.
12:52The pass to bat.
12:56Jordan outside.
12:59Battle misses.
13:01Boy, he looks and will take that shot every time.
13:04Just won't go.
13:06Oh, Butler draining the three.
13:08Well, let's someone initiate and create for Jimmy.
13:12That's catch and shoot opportunity.
13:14That's a sweet spot.
13:24All teams deciding to change it up.
13:27Some noise.
13:27Some noise.
13:27Butler's gone four of eight from the floor.
13:4250% on the night.
13:45Filipowski finds Jordan.
13:50Back to Filipowski.
13:52Here's Gillespie.
13:54Off target with his three.
13:55And the great shooters know when they've got enough opening to go for the three.
14:00I didn't think it was a bad choice on that possession.
14:06Pass to Filipowski.
14:08Jordan at the elbow.
14:11Here's Gillespie.
14:12It's stolen by Curry.
14:14And here we go.
14:15Fast break.
14:16Curry's got it.
14:18Filipowski grabs the board.
14:20Good idea trying to draw the foul.
14:22Very creative to say the least.
14:24So, G8, when you think about Steph Curry's legacy, he changed the way the NBA game is playing.
14:31Man, it is hard to find a player who's had the impact of a Steph Curry.
14:36Making us rethink what is possible.
14:40Curry's endless range has really inspired a generation.
14:45Here's Jordan.
14:47Off the mark and the drop continues.
14:50Warriors leading by three.
14:52Curry with the bounce pass.
14:53The shot by Butler.
14:55Nobody around.
14:56One thing you can't afford is to allow Al Horford to get to this spot.
15:01It's over if you do.
15:05Ellis the best to Hachimura.
15:07Back to Ellis.
15:08Here's Gillespie.
15:10Shoots over Curry.
15:11Off the iron that time.
15:15And if that's the best look you can get on a possession, what a waste of a trip down the floor.
15:20Well, missed opportunities.
15:22And they can certainly add up.
15:24You cannot afford to take that kind of shot.
15:27Ellis kicks to Hachimura.
15:29Pass to Filipowski.
15:31Up and in.
15:32Off to an efficient start.
15:33Two for three from the field.
15:35Boy, they'll take that possession.
15:36Nice finish in close.
15:38And so Steve Kerr decides to call a timeout.
15:41He's going to take a few moments here to check in with this team and regroup.
15:48And some changes here for the Warriors.
15:50Green, he's checked in for Horford.
15:52Jonathan Kamenga comes in for Gary Payton.
15:55And it's Brandon Pajemski in for Buddy Heal.
16:04Warriors leading by three.
16:06Curry, Curry, Curry, Curry!
16:09Outside Curry.
16:11Butler finds Curry.
16:14Filipowski grabs the board.
16:16He started the game scorching the nets from deep.
16:19Three triples in the first period.
16:20But none here in the second.
16:23Golden State's gone.
16:241-0-4 from three-point range in the second.
16:26Not a whole lot dropping out there for them.
16:28It's good.
16:29After a slow start, he has really tightened up his game.
16:33Well, 50% for the floor.
16:36Pass to Filipowski.
16:44Here's Mitchell.
16:46Buries it down low.
16:48Mitchell's got 12 points in the game.
16:50And obviously, his momentum from the last game has carried over here tonight.
16:55I think that's the one thing every player is searching for.
16:59Consistency.
17:00They're giving this guy a chance to carry the offense once again.
17:03Right wing.
17:08Hachimura, the pass to Mitchell.
17:10Now Drummond.
17:11Parted by Green.
17:12And that one's good.
17:14Drummond.
17:14This is what we call strength from a veteran big man.
17:18Andre Drummond, no stranger to taking punishment and scoring through it.
17:23Not the kind of aggressive defense they need to cut into the lead.
17:27Yeah, you have to protect the rim, Greg, a little better.
17:30You're just too slow to react.
17:32You can't afford to sleepwalk through possessions.
17:34What's going on out there?
17:36Drummond finds Hachimura.
17:37Over Butler.
17:39It's rebounded by Golden State.
17:41Yeah, and they swept this matchup the two times they played last year.
17:45They held the advantage on paper and on the court.
17:48Well, a year ago, there was a big gap in talent between the two teams.
17:52But changes are always made, and we'll see how they match up this time around.
17:56Ellis can't get it to go.
17:58Oh, the analytics department is smiling after that one.
18:02Here's Pudzemski.
18:03And again, it's the Warriors missing.
18:07And 36% in the second quarter.
18:09They really haven't found their rhythm yet offensively here.
18:12And there's Green on the assist by Butler.
18:15Green's got the lead up to seven now for the Warriors.
18:19And breaking down some numbers here, the hustle stats for the Warriors.
18:22I mean, they've come out aggressive defensively, getting into them,
18:26and coming up with some cookies along the way.
18:29You know, also, they've been incredible on the fast break,
18:32taking those chances, playing with great pace.
18:37And it's Butler with the ball.
18:38He'll bring it up for the Warriors.
18:40It's good.
18:41But Pudzemski's got his second basket of the game.
18:44Now you see Jimmy Butler's willingness
18:46and almost really relishing the opportunity to get his teammate an open look.
18:52Pass to Pudzemski.
18:57Back to Drummond.
18:58Over Green.
18:59Hits the jump hook.
19:00Drummond's got four points in the quarter.
19:03Yeah, there is an arc to working for the best shot available.
19:06And that right there is it.
19:10Curry outside.
19:13Rebound by Mitchell.
19:14This guy just simply can't find his rhythm.
19:17And sometimes that happens.
19:19Drummond passes to Filipowski.
19:21Ellis bounce pass.
19:23Fades back.
19:25Tries to save it.
19:26And he recovers it.
19:29And it's Drummond missing.
19:30Pass to Curry.
19:34Launches a three.
19:36Good.
19:36And Butler gets the assist.
19:39Butler's got assist number seven for him tonight.
19:41Boy, he's been lights out.
19:43You want to talk about an efficient offensive game.
19:46Wow.
19:47Filipowski.
19:47And that shot was up in time, but doesn't go in.
19:50And so it's the Golden State Warriors
19:52in the driver's seat.
19:54Up eight points at the end of the quarter.
19:56And they've done a phenomenal job down low.
19:58So many of their points coming right at the rim.
20:02And Allie LaForce has got something now for us from the floor.
20:05Allie, take it away.
20:07I'm here with Coach Kerr.
20:08And Steve, what's your assessment of that first half of play?
20:10And any changes in mind?
20:13We'll see.
20:14We have to adjust during the game
20:15if we see something that's hurting us.
20:17But I thought the defense was pretty solid overall.
20:20We'll see how it goes from here.
20:24Okay.
20:24More of the same.
20:25Thanks, Coach.
20:26All right, Allie.
20:27Thank you for that interview.
20:28And we'll be back with more basketball in just a moment.
20:45Greetings, everybody.
20:46Before we review the first half,
20:48let's take an early season peek
20:50at how the Western Conference is shaking out so far.
20:53Well, looking at the Warriors,
20:56they've looked okay early on.
20:58But it's going to take a lot of work to get this team to the next tier.
21:02Plenty of competition ahead of them and not much room for error.
21:05And turning our attention to the first half of our game tonight,
21:10bit of a tough start for the home team.
21:14If they think they'll win with this kind of defense,
21:17they're tripping.
21:18When you give up that many good shots,
21:20it fuels your opponent's fire.
21:22They're like gasoline on a flame, I'd say.
21:31And that is a wrap.
21:32Now let's send you back to Kevin Harlan
21:34for the start of the third quarter.
21:36And if you're just joining us in this one,
21:52first half is in the books.
21:54One half to go.
21:55Curry has been sensational.
21:58And you know he's going to put up points every time out.
22:01But, boy, he made it look so easy in that first half.
22:04Now let's see if he continues that trend the rest of the way.
22:08He certainly has the talent and the endurance to do just that.
22:17And back in the day, guys like Bird and Magic
22:20competed for championships as rookies.
22:24But, Doris, we haven't seen that in a while.
22:27Kev, you have to remember,
22:28Larry Bird was drafted in unique circumstances.
22:31He was drafted a full year before he left college.
22:34And for both Larry and Magic,
22:36they joined talented veteran teams.
22:39That would be like the Celtics or Warriors drafting Wemby.
22:42It would be the exact same story.
22:45At Chimura out there with Filipowski.
22:47And it's Mitchell.
22:48Then there's Andre Drummond.
22:50And it's Ellis at the two-guard spot.
22:52And for Golden State,
22:54that court pair will be Curry and Pajemski.
22:57Dominguez steps in at the four with Green sliding up to center.
23:01And it's Butler in at the three slot.
23:05Mitchell finds Hachimura.
23:08Kicks it out to Ellis.
23:10Shoots over Pajemski.
23:11And good.
23:12Yeah, the English at time as it falls.
23:15Ellis has got 11 points.
23:17Well, read the floor.
23:18You kick it out to the open shooter.
23:20It's a simple game.
23:21Curry, pass it to Green.
23:22And it's Drummond missing.
23:32Oh, that's a golden opportunity to finish on the break.
23:36And he blows it.
23:37It was right there for him.
23:39He'd love to have that one back.
23:41That was embarrassing.
23:42And how about when Dominguez just takes the initiative on offense?
23:46He has the athleticism needed to finish that alley-oop.
23:52Let's go to our 2K leader.
23:57Three-point shooting.
23:58Where you expect to see some high percentages from the shooting guard position.
24:02And that's just what this group has provided.
24:05You look at Ellis.
24:06He's absolutely deadly from outside.
24:09And, you know, two-guard is where we traditionally find the best shooters in our league.
24:13And he's no exception to that rule.
24:16I mean, look at the success he's having from three-point range.
24:20And that one drops.
24:2214 points for him.
24:24And if you're the guy who has to guard him, it is never going to be an easy night for you.
24:29Curry, pass it to Butler.
24:32Fires the three.
24:34Rebound on Dre Drummond.
24:36Drummond's got nine rebounds in the game.
24:39Getting it done.
24:41It's Ellis on the wing.
24:42Back to Mitchell.
24:43Filippowski passes to Hachimura.
24:51Shots good by Filippowski.
24:54Filippowski's got his third basket of the night.
24:56And you gotta love the big bucket and the paint.
24:59And it's sort of a grind-it-out game.
25:02Outside Curry.
25:07Kamenga down low.
25:08Good.
25:09And Curry gets the assist.
25:10Curry's got his third assist on the night.
25:14And over time, we've seen Kamenga be a more aggressive sport.
25:19Especially when he has the ball inside.
25:22Shot from the wing.
25:23That one's in there.
25:24The Warrior lead is cut down to six in the bucket for Mitchell.
25:28This is a mid-range.
25:29Rarely the hallmark of efficiency in today's NBA.
25:33But it is on point tonight.
25:36And so, Steve Kerr decides to call a timeout.
25:39Coach is gonna talk some things over with the team.
25:41Might be seeing something to adjust.
25:45Here we are in November.
25:46Let's see how things are shaking out in the West early in the season.
25:50Taking a look at Golden State.
25:51I know they would have liked a better start.
25:53But they're 10th in the conference right now.
25:55And for the Warriors, they haven't attracted any serious attention here in the early season.
26:02It's been the kind of average start that most have predicted.
26:06I do think they're capable of more than what they've given so far.
26:10If this coaching staff gets them right on track, and once they get a few more games under their belt, the wins will start to come.
26:17Now, let's take a minute to talk to Allie LaForest.
26:19Courtside.
26:20Allie.
26:20Thank you, Kevin.
26:22Jimmy Butler, quite the pairing with Steph Curry.
26:24And Steph said he's like the exact opposite player of me.
26:28He's dominating the paint.
26:29I'm dominating the perimeter.
26:31Butler said, I don't think I could be a better complement to him and vice versa.
26:35They're not leaving him ever.
26:36I'm playing in so much space.
26:38Kevin?
26:39A terrific fit.
26:41Thank you, Allie.
26:42And this is the game plan for him.
26:44He's a big part of their floor spacing.
26:46And right now, Greg, he is doing a great job delivering for this team.
26:51Productive and efficient.
26:55Hachimura, the pass to Filipowski.
26:57Shoots over Kaminga.
26:59Shots good by Filipowski.
27:02Filipowski's got four points this quarter.
27:08Now, Curl.
27:0921 points in the game.
27:12Kaminga, no good.
27:13No good.
27:13No good.
27:13No good.
27:16Here's Filipowski.
27:19Mitchell.
27:20This is Duellis.
27:25Filipowski with it.
27:26Kaminga on him.
27:28Shots good by Filipowski.
27:30Just impressed with the teamwork out there.
27:32Setting the table for one another.
27:37Here's Pujemski.
27:38Boom.
27:39He jams it straight down.
27:41And Kevin, lots of standing around and watching by the defense that time.
27:45And he makes them pay, doesn't he, Greg, out with that emphatic slam.
27:49You know, but at this level, almost any guy can throw it down on you if you leave him wide open.
27:56Filipowski finds Ellis.
28:00Just four to shoot.
28:02And that one's good.
28:04Hachimura.
28:05Boy, even with the contact, Rui Hachimura doesn't lose his touch or his concentration.
28:10So tough to distract this guy.
28:13Outside, Butler.
28:14Steps back.
28:16There's the triple.
28:18Hachimura grabs the miss.
28:20Boy, they've managed without him to a degree, which bodes well for them overall.
28:26The shot by Filipowski.
28:28No good.
28:32Pass to Pujemski.
28:33The three-pointer.
28:35No good.
28:37Got eight of their 11 shots to drop since the bridge.
28:40A great third quarter for them offensively.
28:42It's good.
28:44Hachimura's got four points this quarter.
28:46Fantastic ball movement.
28:48They're picking them apart with their passing.
28:52Here's Pujemski.
28:53Good.
28:54And Butler gets the assist.
28:56Boy, the halftime break.
28:57I don't know what they gave him to drink back there, but he is pouring it on right now.
29:01The way Greg, they're sharing the ball tonight, mesmerizing.
29:05Everyone's getting to touch it, and everyone's contributing.
29:09And the ball out of play.
29:11The Warriors will invite.
29:12And so Steve Kerr decides to call a timeout.
29:15He made the decision to huddle up with his guys and talk about strategy.
29:25And we're free.
29:26And we're free.
29:26And we're free.
29:29There we go.
29:30A breakers in to the Warriors fans.
29:471.57 left to play in the third.
29:52Here's Richard.
29:52And the layup is good.
29:55And the Warriors lead by eight.
29:57I'm not sure who was supposed to be on him that possession.
30:00I mean, apparently, not the good defenders.
30:03Gillespie.
30:03The pass to James.
30:06The rebound by Payton.
30:09And here's Payton.
30:10He'll bring it up for the Warriors.
30:11Checked by heel.
30:12Nobody around.
30:13From outside.
30:14Off the mark.
30:18Pass to Gillespie.
30:20From deep.
30:20It's rebounded by Golden State.
30:24In his 16th season in the NBA, Doris Al Horford got his first title with the Celtics.
30:30That 2024 championship was so special for Al.
30:34Remember, he had played almost 200 playoff games.
30:38And remember, for the vast majority of that run, Al Horford was the starting five for the Boston Celtics.
30:46Incredible.
30:48Payton outside.
30:52And that one drops for him.
30:54Payton's got the lead up to 10 now for the Warriors.
30:57Well, this guy has made giant strides in his playmaking.
31:01Nice setup by Buddy Heald right there.
31:03Prince kicks to James.
31:07Over Payton.
31:09And it's James missing.
31:11Hey, guys.
31:11You've heard of overpassing.
31:13Well, that was an example of underpassing.
31:17Well, there's no doubt there were better options on the floor.
31:20But it certainly seemed like he had his mind made up.
31:24James.
31:24Warriors leading by seven.
31:29Heald from outside.
31:31Sinks the three-pointer.
31:33Heald's got five.
31:34The specialty of Buddy Heald is a three-point shot.
31:38You give him an opportunity to respond, and he's going to say, yes, sir.
31:42Gillespie, the pass to Prince.
31:47And here's Mitchell from the arc.
31:48And the last shot of the buzzer doesn't go in for him.
31:51And as we end the third quarter, a double-digit deficit will make it tough to come back.
31:56Warriors lead by ten.
31:58And we're just moments away from the start of the fourth quarter.
32:02Stay with us.
32:11And let's take now this moment to bring up our State Farm assist of the game.
32:16Yeah, an easy choice tonight.
32:18Look at the precision on this pass.
32:20Let's put it on a platter for him.
32:22And when you're the beneficiary of a pass that good, you better deliver.
32:26And he did just that.
32:30Fourth quarter of action is upon us.
32:31Thanks, as always, for joining us.
32:34DeAndre Jordan is out there with Hachimura.
32:36And it's Torian Prince.
32:38Then it's James.
32:40And it's Gillespie in at the one.
32:44Hachimura finds Prince.
32:46Just five on the clock.
32:47Here's Gillespie.
32:51And it comes off the front of the rim.
32:53And the well is running dry for him right now.
32:57Nothing far.
32:58And this is where you hope that he can find something easy so he can see the ball go through the net.
33:05On three of seven tonight from three-point territory.
33:09Here's Hachimura.
33:10Good on the shot.
33:11Well, this is the area that he's most comfortable.
33:14Rui Hachimura, such a solid performer in the painted area.
33:18Pass to Horford.
33:20Golden State moving the ball around.
33:23And here is Butler.
33:25Over Jordan.
33:26Butler, no good.
33:28That's a shot he makes with regularity.
33:30But that time, the defense up to the challenge.
33:32Here's Gillespie.
33:36Back to Jordan.
33:37And too much time in the lane.
33:39They get called for the three-second violation.
33:41And that is just a deflating error on his part.
33:45Well, I think it kills your energy.
33:47And it certainly kills your momentum.
33:52Heeled with it.
33:53Outside Butler.
33:57Hachimura grabs the miss.
33:59The defense there got away with a major lapse.
34:04It's Prince on the wing.
34:06Back to Jordan.
34:08Count it.
34:08Good.
34:09You can see why DeAndre Jordan, for his career,
34:12over 65% field goal shooting.
34:15So close.
34:16So easy.
34:17And we've got a timeout called by Steve Kerr.
34:20Clearly, he's got something his players need to hear.
34:24And immediately.
34:25I don't know what you need to hear about.
34:28Andre Drummond's checked in for DeAndre Jordan.
34:32And the Warriors also making a change.
34:34Curry's checked in.
34:35And let's go to the sideline.
34:37Here's Allie.
34:38I was able to listen in on what Steve Kerr had to say to the team.
34:41He said to his guys, this one is not over yet.
34:43You have worked hard for this lead.
34:45And we are not about to give it up now.
34:47Stay focused and keep hustling.
34:49Back to you guys.
34:50Great work as always, Allie.
34:53Pass the bump.
34:56The fader.
34:57Good.
34:58And Curry gets the assist.
35:00Curry's got four assists now tonight.
35:02Some players don't love this in-between level.
35:05Jimmy Butler making that mid-range look easy.
35:08Gillespie.
35:08That's good.
35:10And you can feel the excitement in the building.
35:13Both of these teams pouring it off.
35:16There's been a bit of a flurry here late.
35:18And this game may come down to which side gets a stop or two.
35:22Dayton finds Curry.
35:24Curry making it look so easy.
35:28Their ability, again, to stretch the floor, particularly in this second half.
35:34And guys, boy, when you're hitting, it sure does work.
35:37It obviously opens up major options at the offensive end.
35:41Nice work to get it inside and draw the contact.
35:46And what do you guys think so far about the offensive approach for the Warriors?
35:49I mean, they've been stepping it up in terms of their shooting from distance.
35:54And the confidence has been there all game long, leaving the defense to scramble.
35:58They've also made a concerted effort to get the ball down low.
36:03Many of their points coming in that painted area tonight.
36:08And he can't hit the second.
36:11Kicks it out to Prince.
36:13Shoots the three.
36:16James, the pass to Gillespie.
36:18Knocks down the three ball.
36:20Oh, how about the dime?
36:22You love that unselfishness.
36:25And here's Heald.
36:26He'll bring it up for the Golden State Warriors.
36:28They've held a 12-point lead early.
36:32And he can't answer back.
36:33The three-pointer off-line.
36:35You know, things haven't clicked for him offensively.
36:37But other guys around him, give them credit.
36:39They're filling in the gaps.
36:41Boy, how about the timing, the delivery?
36:43That is exactly how you set a teammate up.
36:46Here's Butler.
36:48Not going to go that time.
36:50Prince with the defensive effort.
36:52Gone one and two from three-point range here in the fourth.
36:55Hachimura, the pass to Prince.
36:56It's taken away by Peyton.
37:00Heald from outside.
37:02Hands it from downtown.
37:04And the Warriors lead by eight.
37:06The stop and the pop by Buddy Heald.
37:10Gillespie, the pass to Drummond.
37:12Here's Gillespie.
37:13And here is Prince.
37:15Defended by Butler.
37:16To the wing right side.
37:18And they wasted no time getting those three points back.
37:22Gillespie's got eight points in the quarter.
37:24You know, you have to like that he's still getting quality touches.
37:27And delivering now after getting blanked in the first half.
37:30Four for the pass to Butler.
37:32Butler making it happen inside.
37:36Well, you love any possession that ends in the paint, especially if the ball is in the hands of Jimmy Butler.
37:45Butler against Prince.
37:46Back to James.
37:48Prince outside.
37:49Pass to Hachimura.
37:54On the wing.
37:55James.
37:55Over Heald.
37:57James.
37:58No good.
37:59Warriors leading by seven.
38:01Heald with it.
38:02He's picked up by James.
38:04Fires the three.
38:06Heald.
38:07Can't hit.
38:07Gone two at three in the fourth quarter from long range.
38:11Good shooting so far.
38:12Drummond passes to James.
38:16That's in.
38:17That's his fifth field goal.
38:19He's shooting a hot 71%.
38:21Five for seven.
38:23And here's Heald.
38:24He'll bring it up for the Warriors.
38:26They've held a 12-point lead early.
38:29Curry outside.
38:33Here's Heald.
38:36Uncovered.
38:38And it misses.
38:43Hachimura against Teal.
38:44The shot is good.
38:46Louie Hachimura doesn't shy away from the pressure, and he delivers.
38:51And we've got a timeout called by Steve Kerr.
38:55Wants to make sure everybody's coordinated and intent.
39:01So both teams making some changes here.
39:03Warriors leading by three.
39:13Warriors leading by three.
39:14Now, Pajemski.
39:14Now, Pajemski.
39:20Coming down.
39:22The three doesn't go.
39:26Gone.
39:27Eight of 11 from the field in the final period.
39:29Great shooting down the stretch.
39:30Knocks down the three.
39:34You can see their confidence growing.
39:37They have reason to believe.
39:39What I love is the heart, the fire, the tenacity.
39:44This is absolutely fantastic.
39:46The three goes down.
39:48One of the best ever at embracing big moments.
39:51Step up to the challenge.
39:57And they come back with a three of their own.
40:00And, wow, what a time to tie this game up, guys.
40:04Incredible fortitude to bounce back like this.
40:07I think we're setting up for an awesome finish.
40:10Big sequence there, guys.
40:12Curry takes it upon himself to take and make the big bucket.
40:17Now Mitchell jacks up a three.
40:19And there's the three.
40:21And guys getting into a nice groove here.
40:24Starting to feel it.
40:25And this is partly what the game has become, right?
40:28A matter of dueling three-point opportunities.
40:32Stephen Curry.
40:35Can't connect from long distance.
40:37And even without that three-ball dropping for him,
40:40the defense should have done more on that last play.
40:45Golden State's gotten eight shots off from three-point land
40:48and hit half of it.
40:50The inside game of Stephen Curry.
40:53Nobody you want taking that shot more than Steph Curry.
40:57What a pressure player.
41:06Oh, you just love seeing a player with absolutely no fear.
41:11To me, more often than not, when you attack, good things happen.
41:16The Warriors shooting it well here in the fourth quarter.
41:1850%.
41:1944 in seconds left in the fourth quarter.
41:26And it's still a rare sight to see rebound numbers
41:29like the one he's had tonight.
41:31His production has been unbelievable.
41:34A testament to how much he cares about his craft.
41:38Just a humongous fourth quarter for him,
41:41especially from long range.
41:43He's just in a groove now, and that trade has been deadly.
41:47And we've got a timeout called by Steve Kerr.
41:50Pivotal moment in this game.
41:52He's not taking any chances.
41:54He'll call time.
41:55Here's Curry.
42:12Takes the three.
42:13Three.
42:14Good.
42:15Steph Curry so cool, under pressure.
42:18Big moment.
42:19No matter.
42:19He's ready.
42:23Misses the three.
42:24And down goes the three.
42:39Just love the unselfishness there.
42:41Keep the ball moving.
42:43Good things happen.
42:45And talking about the approach now, what are they looking at?
42:48And they need a three to tie.
42:51But look, they've got enough time here to find a good look.
42:55They can run a playoff inbound,
42:57make sure they get it in the hands of their best shooter.
43:00So it's a narrow victory for the Warriors, pulling out the W.
43:19They break the hearts of every fan in the building with a dramatic late victory.
43:23And, Kevin, this is the kind of win you have to take a ton of pride in.
43:27I mean, they battled with everything they had and came through when the pressure was at its highest.
43:34Now let's send it over to Allie LaForce on the sideline with our player of the game.
43:39Allie, take it away.
43:40Steph, I know it's still early, but how do you evaluate this team and its ability to go the distance?
43:49In terms of communicating about our principles and how we're going to be successful,
43:54trying to chase another championship, we're definitely on the same page.
43:57It's just a matter of staying focused every night, giving the best effort we can,
44:02and just, you know, enjoying the journey because it's a long year.
44:05Well, you've been there.
44:06You know what it takes.
44:07Thanks, Steph.
44:08Aw, terrific job, Allie.
44:11Thank you so much.
44:11That was enjoyable.
44:13And that'll wrap it up, folks.
44:15For Dorisburg, Greg Anthony, and our sideline reporter, Allie LaForce, this is Kevin Harlan.
44:20Thanks for tuning in tonight.
44:22And as we leave you, we give you our player of the game, Stephen Curry.
