00:00One of the best sushi spots in LA is hiding inside a swanky hotel.
00:03Just past the Fairmont Miramar's iconic lobby lounge is an eight-seat sushi bar.
00:08Soko means store room in Japanese because that's literally what it used to be,
00:11tucked back in a corner of the main floor.
00:13Today it's where Chef Masa Shimakawa, who is a true artist,
00:16uses the freshest ingredients to serve up sushi that honestly sometimes felt too beautiful to eat.
00:21Some of my favorites were the bluefin tuna salad, the wagyu beef plate,
00:25and a chilled lobster noodle served in an ice bowl.
00:28With every item plated to absolute perfection.
00:30But the best was the omakase bento box.
00:33Chef's selection of all the nigiri with toro, uni, rolls, and sashimi.
00:37It's so much food, I wasn't sure where to start.
00:39So tell me, would you hide and dine for sushi this good?
