00:00Hi!
00:01Hi!
00:02Oh, oh, oh, oh!
00:03Pandora!
00:04Pandora!
00:05What you need to do is get control of Pandora.
00:07If dogs go wild...
00:10They are absolutely nuts.
00:13Is a dog around?
00:14Oh!
00:15I can't control them.
00:17Come on now, big boy.
00:18Nathan thinks he can read.
00:20Surely he can.
00:21He can't.
00:22He's a dog.
00:23And get up.
00:24Oh, here we go.
00:25No, get down.
00:26To no good.
00:27It's not as me now, is it?
00:28I'm honoured.
00:29Or down.
00:30Oh, no.
00:31And dirty.
00:32He loves a big, large crap.
00:35Oh!
00:36Tank likes to rub his boy parts.
00:40What is going on with you, Tank?
00:42When pups...
00:43I wonder what we're gonna learn today!
00:45...need to be schooled.
00:46Three, two, one, and sit.
00:48Fantastic!
00:49Look at that!
00:50Or if your pooch...
00:52He's dropped one.
00:53He got a whiff.
00:54...has a personal problem.
00:56Some dogs have bacterias that are gas-producing.
00:59Just in case.
01:01One man...
01:02Hey!
01:03Look at that!
01:04...will give it his all.
01:06Jack!
01:07Oi!
01:08Leave it.
01:09...and get answers...
01:10I think I might know what's going on, and it's not what you think.
01:13...to any doggy dilemma.
01:15Yeah, that's next level, innit?
01:17This week...
01:21You've gotta be nice, darling.
01:23...a loving home possessed by an unruly spirit.
01:26The charity, when we rescued him, said he was a very strange dog.
01:30Whose hellhound behaviour...
01:32He's a dog around.
01:33...is tearing a family apart.
01:36He's bit seven people.
01:38...a picky pooch with gourmet taste...
01:41He's got a bit of fillet steak this morning.
01:42...on a hunger strike.
01:44Any other dog would woof that in two seconds.
01:46...refusing to eat without a song and dance.
01:49He'll eat as long as Sienna's sort of performing for him.
01:51What's Sienna doing?
01:52...and Graham's opening the doors...
01:55...to his brand new puppy school.
01:57Teaching the nation...
01:59Well done, everybody. Carry on going.
02:00...how to raise a beautifully behaved dog.
02:03Go, Willie.
02:04When things start to go a little bit iffy, don't look nervous.
02:07There you are.
02:08There we go.
02:09Graham's first case takes him west.
02:17To a quiet Bristol suburb...
02:20...where all is not as it seems.
02:26Because behind closed doors something stranger stirs.
02:31...watching.
02:33Waiting.
02:34...watching.
02:38Ready to terrorize four generations...
02:43...of a tight-knit family.
02:46Seven months ago, 65-year-old retiree Marina welcomed Buddy.
02:53A Chinese-crested into her life.
02:57You've got to be nice, darling. You've got to be nice.
03:00And he came with an ominous warning.
03:02The charity, when we rescued him, said he was a very strange dog.
03:08They didn't want me to have him at first.
03:10They did say they'd never known a dog like it, ever.
03:15They weren't wrong.
03:17No, no.
03:18From day one, this furry demogorgon...
03:21Come on.
03:22..has terrified the entire family.
03:24We've only had him six months.
03:26No, no.
03:28And he's a nightmare.
03:30Anyone who dares cross the threshold...
03:34There's a dog around.
03:36..awakens the beast.
03:38Be quiet. Be quiet.
03:40Don't like anybody.
03:42Marina adopted Buddy as a friend for 13-year-old Rocco.
03:47And whilst they get on...
03:49..this terror has left his mark on the rest of the family.
03:52Buddy have bitten my mum.
03:55Since he bit me, I get very anxious, you know.
03:59I still got the bruise look.
04:01He bit my friend.
04:03He bit my son.
04:04He bit seven people.
04:07While hubby John lives in fear,
04:10there's one person Buddy's spared.
04:13Look at that little face.
04:15You look so sweet.
04:17Don't you?
04:18Oh, it's lovely.
04:19I just melt.
04:20But family gatherings are now a write-off.
04:23Hello.
04:24And Marina's son, Dean, has had enough.
04:27No, no, no, no.
04:29It is destroying the family.
04:30It's destroying everyone.
04:31Like, it's coming, whoever or not.
04:33No.
04:34And it's all because of a dog.
04:37I would like the family to have a normal tea,
04:40birthday party, bingo night.
04:43It's more or less tearing the family apart, really.
04:46So can Graham free this family
04:50from their upside-down world?
04:52Morning.
04:53Hello, Graham.
04:54John, yeah? Good to meet you.
04:55Nice to meet you.
04:56You all right?
04:57Shall I come in?
04:58Yeah, come on in.
04:59Good.
05:00Morning, hello.
05:01Hello, Graham.
05:02Marina, yeah?
05:03Hi, Marina, yeah.
05:04Nice to meet you.
05:05Blimey, and who's this, then?
05:06This is Buddy.
05:07You're not very happy, are you?
05:08No, he's not.
05:09He's barking at you, isn't he?
05:11Yeah, he barks at everybody.
05:13Yeah.
05:14So you're the only person in the world who likes them?
05:16Yeah, I'm the only one he likes.
05:18I'm sure he would have bitten him
05:19if John had got any nearer.
05:20And he lives with John.
05:21So what's going on here?
05:23Graham wants to see how Buddy reacts
05:25to the rest of the clan.
05:27I have got him, I have got him.
05:29First to brave the beast, Grandma June.
05:32Hello.
05:33Hello, Graham.
05:34Do you want to grab a seat?
05:35Um, grab a seat?
05:36Yeah.
05:40All of a sudden, you look nervous, June.
05:42Yeah, I am a bit,
05:43because he's growling and barking at me.
05:45And then he bites you, yeah.
05:46Yeah, and then he bites you.
05:47So there's no warning?
05:48No.
05:49Right.
05:50Next in, Dean.
05:51Hello, Graham.
05:52Do you want to grab a seat?
05:53Yeah, yeah.
05:55Hey, I thought you looked nervous.
05:56There's a reason.
05:57God, blimey.
05:58Come here.
05:59And finally...
06:00Do you want to come over?
06:01Arch nemesis, grandson Kieran.
06:04Oh.
06:05Nice.
06:06Yeah, you're next.
06:08Who stopped visiting because of Buddy.
06:11Come on.
06:12No.
06:13Yeah, yeah.
06:14No.
06:15It's really striking that Buddy goes for everybody in the family,
06:20but never Marina.
06:22Marina is at the heart of Buddy's demonic behaviour.
06:26Go basket.
06:27Sit.
06:28So Graham wants to see how he behaves
06:30when she steps out of the picture.
06:33Look at that.
06:36Buddy's off lead, of course.
06:37No, he took no notice at all.
06:38Nothing.
06:39Oh, he came and checked him out.
06:40Yep.
06:41Hello, Dad.
06:42Sniffed his legs, his bare legs as well.
06:43Couldn't be less bothered, could he?
06:44I can't believe it.
06:45I just can't.
06:46There's a different side to your dog.
06:47So is me.
06:48It's beginning to look that way.
06:49It is.
06:50If Marina is the chosen one, Buddy's past could hold the key as to why.
07:02What do you know of his life before you?
07:04We don't know much.
07:05We know he's been abused.
07:07So what was the first day like?
07:09The first day, went upstairs, put him on my bed,
07:11and we both went to sleep.
07:12Ah.
07:13Hey, Bresto, he's my friend for life.
07:15I see.
07:16So poor old Buddy.
07:18I mean, he had a...
07:19Sounds like a horrible upbringing.
07:21He then bonds with Marina and goes,
07:23You're good.
07:24I like you.
07:25But everybody else is a threat.
07:30Coming up...
07:31Stop.
07:32Can Marina's bond become the key to calming Buddy?
07:35How do you feel?
07:36Don't trust him.
07:37Or will he notch up another victim?
07:39Oh, no.
07:41Graham meets a very discerning diner.
07:44So what happens next?
07:45He'll eat as long as Stan is sort of performing for him.
07:47Wow.
07:48Who has his family bending over backwards?
07:51Absolutely ridiculous.
07:52And term begins at Graham's brand new puppy school.
07:56Can we have the next vehicle, please?
07:58Where there's first day jitters.
08:00How's Winnie doing?
08:01All right?
08:02She was.
08:03Graham's in Bristol.
08:04You're not very happy, are you?
08:05Where this little rescue horror...
08:06Come on!
08:07Now come on!
08:08...is terrorising all three generations of Marina's family.
08:09Don't like anybody...
08:10...but me.
08:11One minute Buddy acts as Marina's gnashing demogorgon.
08:12But if she steps out...
08:13Look at that.
08:14...he's a saint.
08:15Couldn't be less bothered.
08:16I can't believe it.
08:17I just can't.
08:18There's a different side to your dog.
08:19So is me.
08:20It's beginning to look that way.
08:21Graham thinks Marina's the trigger that sparks Buddy's dark side.
08:23When you're in the house and he does react, your way of dealing with that is you pick
08:25him up and effectively give him a cuddle, right?
08:26Well, yeah.
08:27I don't know.
08:28I don't know.
08:29I don't know.
08:30I don't know.
08:31I don't know.
08:32I don't know.
08:33I don't know.
08:34I don't know.
08:35What about me?
08:36One minute Buddy acts as Marina's gnashing demogorgon.
08:37But if she steps out...
08:38Look at that.
08:39...he's a saint.
08:40Couldn't be less bothered.
08:41I can't believe it.
08:42I just can't.
08:43There's a different side to your dog.
08:44So is me.
08:45It's beginning to look that way.
08:46Graham thinks Marina's the trigger that sparks Buddy's dark side.
08:49The whole way of dealing with that is you pick him up and effectively give him a cuddle.
08:52Well, yeah.
08:53So he's like, ah.
08:54So if I go to attack people, Mum picks me up, I get a cuddle and all the nice stuff,
08:59right?
09:00Yeah.
09:01He's kind of gone, you're all right, right?
09:02Everybody else is a threat.
09:04If Marina's been fanning this little devil's flames...
09:08You've got to be nice, darling.
09:10You've got to be nice.
09:11Good boy.
09:12Oh!
09:13Graham suspects that calmly correcting and keeping him grounded
09:18will show that the rest of the family aren't a threat.
09:21No!
09:22No!
09:23I'm thinking if I can get Kieran, who for my money is the most nervous member of the family.
09:28If he can trust Buddy, as well as Buddy can trust him, maybe we're building some blocks
09:33for the future.
09:34But this only happens if neither feel threatened.
09:39We've got a muzzle on, Kieran, so that you can afford to relax a bit.
09:42On neutral territory, Graham wants to build trust with a simple game of walkies.
09:47So what we're going to do then, Marina, is I'm going to get you to say walk on or stop.
09:52Walk on, stop.
09:53Walk on, stop.
09:54Walk on, stop.
09:55Yep.
09:56Easiest routine in the world.
09:57Right.
09:58If he does start to misbehave, you can say no when he's not reacting.
10:01Good boy.
10:02It's like, oh, Mummy says good boy when I just walk along and I'm nice to Kieran.
10:07You've never walked him before, have you?
10:09No.
10:10How do you feel?
10:11Don't trust him.
10:12No.
10:13But I've got no choice but to trust him in this situation.
10:16So will Buddy...
10:17Right, walk on.
10:18...let Kieran...
10:19That's it.
10:20...into his circle of trust?
10:22Stop.
10:23Oh, you're beautiful.
10:25Good boy.
10:26Good boy.
10:27Marina's blessing is key.
10:29Walk on.
10:30That's it.
10:31Without it...
10:32Stop.
10:33...the pact will break.
10:34Well done.
10:35Good boy.
10:36But when Kieran tries the same trick...
10:39Stop.
10:40That's it.
10:41Good boy.
10:42That's it.
10:43Too much.
10:44No.
10:45It rubs Buddy up the wrong way.
10:48No.
10:49No.
10:50No.
10:51No.
10:52Can Marina right that wrong?
10:54Wait for it.
10:55And crucially resist giving him the reassurance that sparked all this in the first place.
11:00Now pop him back down again, see what you got.
11:02If he goes again, it's nowhere again, innit?
11:04Buddy's desperate for Marina's affection and approval.
11:08I'm not picking you up.
11:09He's like a two-year-old, innit?
11:11Yeah.
11:12Pick me up.
11:13Pick me up.
11:14I got my hand.
11:15Just wait for it.
11:19Okay.
11:20Turns out giving him a stroke was a step too far.
11:23With a nervous dog, you can only go in tiny baby steps.
11:27Walk on.
11:28Walk on.
11:29So Kieran needs to rebuild Buddy's trust.
11:31That's nice.
11:32Stop.
11:33Oh, lovely.
11:34Good boy.
11:35Good boy.
11:36One baby step at a time.
11:37Come on out.
11:38Walk on.
11:39That's it.
11:40There you go.
11:41Stop.
11:42That's it.
11:43Perfect.
11:44He's a good boy.
11:46He's getting in.
11:47He is.
11:48So how do you feel about you taking him for a walk and me and your nan staying here?
11:52I'm willing to give it a go.
11:53Good.
11:54It's a major test.
11:55It's a major test.
11:56Will Buddy remain trusting without his mum's support?
11:59Best of luck mate.
12:00Right.
12:01All gone.
12:02Good boy.
12:03Come on.
12:04Stop.
12:05Good boy.
12:06Good boy.
12:07Good boy.
12:08Good boy.
12:09Good boy.
12:10Good boy.
12:11Good boy.
12:12Good boy.
12:13Good boy.
12:14Good boy.
12:15Good boy.
12:16Good boy.
12:17Good boy.
12:18Well done.
12:20Good boy.
12:21Good boy.
12:22Good boy.
12:23Good boy.
12:24Well done.
12:25Good boy.
12:26Yay.
12:27Good boy.
12:28Yay.
12:29I'll tell you what though, this morning, you couldn't have walked the dog, could you?
12:32No.
12:33So I think little bits of this.
12:34You can't just walk away.
12:35You know what?
12:36I can't do it.
12:37I feel like you'd have not really walked.
12:38You can't do it.
12:39I can't do it.
12:40I can't do it.
12:41I'm just going to make a look.
12:42You can't do it.
12:43I can't do it.
12:44bits of this you could do with all the family yeah yeah the training today I
12:49think went really well for a buddy to let him hold the lead that was a bonus
12:53yeah I think ground and a good job today this is a dog who's only ever trusted
12:59one person in the whole world Marina and today he's trusting another person
13:05that's a big deal but it's on home turf where buddy's reign of terror is the
13:13worst I've got to somehow defuse that situation that will need to wait for
13:22another day as Graham can't be late for his first day of school getting a new
13:31puppy a magical time of fluffy adorable fun but without the right schooling that
13:39bundle of joy could turn into a terror you know over the years I've had thousands of
13:51people asking me how to get the very best start in life for their puppy that's how I
13:56started in dog training so nearly 20 years ago I was running puppy classes and now
14:00that'll do I I'm about to open my very own puppy school on the edge of the Cotswolds
14:06Graham's bringing together a regular class of new owners a lovely venue you're
14:13going to meet loads of new friends to lay down the foundations every pop needs
14:18what if you like jumps on everyone he will he'll be excited get the puppy
14:23basics all sorted early on and you're set for success but if you miss a
14:27milestone you're gonna be chasing yourself for years to come Graham's giving a
14:32series of milestone masterclasses to put these pups don't eat any stones on the
14:38right track to becoming dogs behaving very brilliantly welcome to Graham Hall's
14:45puppy school let's get ready for carnage shall we all the pups are over 14 weeks old and
15:08vaccinated this is mr. Todd hello mr. Todd so they're ready to join Graham's first
15:14class and one of the most important milestones socialization eating new dogs
15:21isn't really interesting yeah and getting acquainted is all part of the fun what
15:29breeds Winnie she's a bit sir bits of this and bits of that morning everybody
15:37maybe you could tell me a bit about your dog this is Sydney he's an Australian
15:43labradoodle crossed with a miniature cockapoo right he's not very miniature
15:47no he's not very miniature no this is mr. Todd he's a fox red lab we come from Worcestershire
15:53Worcestershire small farm 80 acres oh your farmers plenty of room for him to run around
15:58yeah and get into trouble who've we got here this is boo boo is actually a breakup dog I've
16:04always wanted a dog and then my last breakup I was like I'm not waiting anymore they're more
16:09reliable than human partners yeah exactly she's mine forever now Winnie and who's this Winnie you
16:16said yeah and what's in the mix with Winnie we don't really know all we know is that she was
16:22abandoned in London who is this fluffy boy this is stormy the chow-champ stormy why do you get
16:29stormy it was for a man well acquainted off we go everybody time for the first lesson lots of the
16:38problems I see in later life a lack of socialization it's not just being social with other humans and
16:45dogs it's about getting puppies use all the things in life that they might come across
16:51between three and 17 weeks of puppies experiences shape how they'll see the world for life it's a
16:57crucial window and positive exposure now is the key to a well-balanced dog miss it and the fallout can
17:03be serious poor socialization could lead to fear or aggression towards everyday things people animals
17:16even cars and those reactions only get harder to handle as they grow today Graham's planned three
17:27lessons designed to tap into a puppy's instincts if they're curious about something that's puppy
17:33gold dust curious is fab because it's the opposite of scared isn't it lesson one reward your puppy's
17:40curiosity you could praise them you could add a treason if you like okay we always want to reward
17:46behavior we want to see more of whenever I can a home of puppy classes outside and you know that's not
17:52just because of the obvious toilet training issue it's because outside the real world there's noises
17:59smells loads of things going on squirrels for example need I say more puppies need to learn to focus
18:06through the distractions Graham's starting with a loud and smelly household item a common culprit of puppy
18:14panic I'm gonna switch the vacuum cleaner on then we're gonna bring them up one by one look nervous we can
18:20pause just wait for it bring them a bit nearer I just want them to get to the point where they're
18:25going oh do you know what not bothered about that Charlotte and boo do you want to come forward I'll
18:29switch that on Charlotte a brand designer found herself needing a new focus after a relationship
18:37ended who is like my family now say hi hello so I will be taking boo to work with me she'll see you in
18:45the office when she's allowed in we have a couple of offices and they're all dog friendly but there
18:50is a certain etiquette you must abide by if you're going to be in the office hopefully she'll be a very
18:55good girl and what I've heard is that there's a three bark rule and you're out so there's a lot of
19:00pressure to be accepted as part of Charlotte's team who can't overreact to things around the office
19:09what's this thing to help boo find some courage Graham tempts her with a treat and then when she takes
19:25the lead another one seals a positive association clever girl lovely and that's enough that's all we
19:32need little encounter with a vacuum cleaner no problem at all with boo taking it in her stride
19:37the others follow her lead hello Sydney treats can boost a pup's confidence stormy but only at their
19:46pace if they hesitate pause give them space this and reward the smallest steps forward with the pups
19:57now accustomed to something smelly and loud well done everybody that was easy on it it's time to
20:04introduce something faster and potentially dangerous can we have the first thing please Graham's second
20:11lesson keep your cool if we're trying to convince a puppy that they've seen something that's new to
20:20them but it's okay it's fine I need people to be reacting in a way that will suggest we've got this
20:26puppies are emotional sponges they pick up on every flicker of our mood studies show they can even mirror
20:34our heartbeats so stay calm and confident and your puppies more likely to do the same
20:39okay Graham wants the grown-ups to reassure their pups oh done that's very good that
20:49everything is safe and okay and if any pup needs reassurance it's this one how's Winnie doing
21:04all right she was she was not too sure of this one five-month-old Winnie was rescued by Karen and
21:15Robert she was emaciated she was full of fleas and they believe the way she was ditched has had a
21:22lasting impact come on let's go she was abandoned from a car and just left on the side she's just
21:30absolutely petrified of traffic all right makes us feel very sad when he's so scared and frightened
21:43when he's passed means traffic terrifies her so she needs calm reassurance well what I'm looking
22:00for here is that connection you know between the owners and the dogs okay all right now remember what
22:11I said when things start to go a little bit iffy don't look nervous come on then but Karen's letting
22:17her own feelings slip through Karen you look scared to death darling smile I'm concentrating that was
22:28better she's still not 100% because her ears are back but you look more relaxed now so she'll read
22:34that from you you see good girl Winnie Winnie's showing more confidence but the scarier things to
22:42come here we go oh my gosh it's a real car this one might be a bit more of a challenge Karen and
22:48Robert need to lead by example when he's looking a lot better this time with smiles all round very good
23:01Winnie ignores the scary car and just wants to play with little boo we got boo again along with Winnie and
23:10boo getting top marks stormy interested but not bothered well done good boy stormy well treat very
23:16good well done good boy farm part mr. Todd will soon get used to loud machinery at this rate good boy
23:23Tony oh yeah a bit nervous but that's all right so far the group have tackled new smelly loud and moving
23:31things very good well done everybody but coming up things get more unpredictable I think that'll do and
23:39even the parents try to skip school you want to run away don't we're finished Graham out of here has
23:45Graham met his match hey Bob what's this man with the pickiest eater ever and I might be in trouble
23:51here and he heads back to demogorgon buddy oh and then he blew it didn't he but can he reunite a family
23:58hello you all right hiya mate yeah scared stiff
24:03Graham Hall's puppy school is up and running come on we're going to school today's class
24:13socialization so far the pups have covered two of the three lessons what's this thing lesson one
24:21reward curiosity clever girl little encounter with a vacuum cleaner no problem at all
24:27lesson two keep your cool Karen you look scared to death darling that was better up to now
24:37everything's been pretty tame but Graham's lined up something bigger louder and a whole lot scarier
24:45his final lesson always end on a positive it's not every day you bump into two shire horses and a brewery
24:59dray is it really but I just thought if we can get me used to this and then we're on the winner are we
25:04handling moments like this takes practice and for sisters Ruby and Daphne it's all completely new
25:10after years of being pestered mum Catherine finally caved I'm not a dog person being a good boy and I
25:19was just like no we're just not gonna have one ever I don't like other people's dogs I don't want
25:25them to lick me I don't have to go over and touch it and pet it and stroke it and talk to it so yeah
25:31so I'm not a dog person I'm sorry to say well there's now one exception but I do love Sydney
25:37Catherine's become a full-time puppy mum I'm on duty you know I'm like where is he what's he doing
25:44I'm like that a lot good boy and Sydney's a true mummy's boy she's got her head around it
25:53thankfully and means we can all have a family dog so how will this family dog cope with this final
26:00challenge they're smelling look can you see noses going Graham's getting the pups used to the
26:06unfamiliar smell and unpredictable movement of horses let's get a little bit nearer come on then
26:13there we go that's it so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna ask this gentleman to move forward a metre
26:20now you know what to do if they spook a little bit stay calm we'll just act as normal if you could
26:26move a metre forward for me please there we go Sydney and Winnie are spooked Winnie Winnie yeah don't
26:37let her run away the important lesson here is don't let fear be the lasting memory why don't you grab a
26:45seat on the on the wall if you can while Sydney's calm down his mum Catherine's on edge I think that'll
26:53do why don't you grab a seat next to you want to run away don't I just walk off and go home if we run
26:58away now and go right okay this is no good he'll go away thinking horse is bad whereas if we can get
27:03him over it at least from a distance all right and then he's abiding memory was like well I had a bit
27:07of a scary moment with horses but it was okay in the end it's tempting to scoop them up good but
27:13staying calm and letting them settle turns a scary moment into a positive one thank you gentlemen thank
27:21you very much that was a mixed bag wasn't it I think it's fair to say you had a moment didn't
27:30you what was your instinct in that moment we're finished Graham yeah see you later yeah yeah okay
27:37and how do you feel now well fine because he's relaxed now in a funny way don't get me wrong I'm
27:42glad it happened because that's how you get over things yeah you know it's not just been a steep
27:47learning curve for Sydney and Winnie today all the pups have met new sights sounds and smells galore
27:53Keener at housework than I am and if their owners keep practicing good boy Sydney they'll be prepared
28:00for their next puppy school lesson we've got horses nearby us so I think you know a fresh day we'll go
28:06again with treats encourage him and just gently introduce him to to a horse Graham's given us some
28:12really good tips today that will help us go forward with our at home help her out within a few little
28:17struggles she's got socialization starts really as soon as you get a puppy but it never ends there's
28:23always going to be something that the dog sees or experiences for the first time so go home practice
28:28these things get them used to lots of things remember take your time don't forget to praise
28:32the good things if they're curious what's curious I'll be going to be holders there you go I'm looking
28:39forward to seeing you next time and safe journey home Graham's next stop is about an hour and a half
28:45northeast where he's meeting a real four-legged foodie who might just take the Michelin star for
28:57fussy eating right just in time for breakfast Graham there you go so we've got the freeze-dried so I'll
29:06pop some of this in the bowl Graham and you can see how he reacts to this one but here you go Bobby
29:11what's this there you go Bobby took in gonna have some no not today Nikki and her daughter Sienna have
29:22faced a food fight with six-year-old Cavapoo Bobby since he was a puppy even if I put it right up to
29:29Bobby to try and coax him you can see backs off it like he's a bit disgusted when Bobby rejects the
29:36premium menu Nikki and long-suffering husband Lewis resort to a la carte dining so yeah he's got a 10
29:43pound bit of fillet steak this morning a succulent filet mignon fit for a king fit for a dog is it for
29:51Bobby Bobby's steak oh no that's it he's done Bobby's vet ruled out anything medical and said he's just
30:00being fussy want to try the food on the floor and he will eat it and we stuck to it for four days by day
30:07four we had to take him to the vet he was dehydrated and he was put on a drip and the vet was like oh this
30:13dog will try and starve himself never mind Bob hey never mind actually makes me feel really
30:20stressed it's like having a tiny child that won't eat he's obviously not skin and bones you're obviously
30:26getting some food into so I can get him to eat but only if I take him to specific places around the town
30:32and hand feed him outside oh really yeah so never in the house never in the house outside specific
30:39places only two places maybe three at a push well anywhere else is a night and if that sounds odd
30:46he will only eat if I take my daughter with me who's 13 and she kind of has to do a bit of a performance
30:54for him all right okay curiouser and curiouser this is can we go and see that yeah yeah let's go I'll grab Sienna
31:03and we'll um right okay come on Bobster come on then come up so this is the other side of town isn't it we have
31:13to come here pretty much every day if we want him to eat so what happens next time for a show so yeah
31:19he will um he'll eat as long as Sienna's sort of performing for it is it and if Sienna's not here he
31:24won't eat no it's got to be a family joint effort wow I mean I'm 13 now and I don't really want to be
31:32hanging around in a children's play park and I'd way rather be out with my friends or I'd rather sit
31:38at home than be out here I've never seen a case like this before this family have been doing this
31:44for about five years twice a day that's a big chunk of a childhood isn't it feeding Bobby has become a
31:53performance and Graham wants to know why when we first got him we took him to puppy training and the
32:00puppy trainer told us because we had a small child at the time it would be best if we fed him out of
32:04our hands on a walk so he didn't become funny around his food right so that's what we did that
32:10was the start of it was it yeah so what do you make of this Lewis it's absolutely ridiculous I don't
32:16it's I don't know what to make of it no to be honest Sienna is clearly tired of putting on the
32:21performance Nikki is clearly tired of it I think Lewis is over tired of it the only person who's not
32:28tired of course is Bobby Graham suspects Bobby's not fussy at all he's simply learned a strange
32:35mealtime habit it's a bit like a comfort blanket thing breaking it down there's kind of three kinds
32:43of comfort blanket there's the location there's the fact that he's been hand-fed and there's the fact
32:49that Sienna you're doing your thing right so I think we need to fade those out first up Graham
32:56wants to ditch Bobby's alfresco dining and while Sienna performs indoors a new dinner cue I'm going to
33:04introduce that word when he's eating and then he associates dinner with food what's she doing
33:13inside with ball bouncing entertainment she got the ball will Bobby buy the change of scene try a
33:20little bit in there there we go it's not looking good I might be in trouble here I just think if he
33:30started we can build on it but struggling at the minute luckily Graham is packing paste I've got this
33:39um tasty turkey treat yeah in other words turkey paste could a poultry pate so if I put a little
33:46bit on a bit of kibble tempt this stubborn diner oh what's that dinner dinner good boy hey what
34:01I'm trying with one without the paste on it so good boy dinner yes with Bobby now eating plain
34:15kibble who's a clever lad hey Graham wants Sienna to swap the spotlight for a seat in the audience
34:23you reckon he's gonna do it I don't know so indoors and without a show Bobby what's this will Bobby chow down
34:35hey good boy dinner good boy dinner good boy oh my god he's eating plain yibble wow now happy with no
34:59frills dining wow that's really good it's like a new dog it's time for the final act good boy so the
35:10last thing would be to take away the hand feeding I'm gonna try Bobby never eats from a bowl but Graham
35:17thinks he can make it appetizing hello mate what's this why don't I start by putting a tiny little bit
35:25of this in it what do you reckon to that there you go good boy good boy and what if you had a bit of
35:33kibble to it now there we go there we go oh good boy good boy dinner dinner there's no paste in it
35:47oh no but chef Graham's not hanging up his apron yet tiny little bit good boy
35:58after gobbling up the morsel of turkey pate on one bit of kibble one bit another bit another bit good
36:08good boy he finishes the rest condiment free why didn't we get Graham ages ago for over five years
36:22Bobby's been a difficult diner yeah but tonight he's eating indoors from a bowl and without a full-on
36:29performance good boy what Graham's done is absolutely amazing and it's gonna change so much I'll get to see my
36:39friends more so it will be a lot better to see it and believe it was insane the fact that I could
36:47probably probably probably what's this what's this sit sit let's try that again sit and he'll eat out a bowl
36:55in the house it's incredible it's crazy it's nuts isn't it good boy coming up we're back with Chinese
37:07crested rescue buddy the family terror who's threatening to sink his teeth into everyone but mum
37:15can Graham rebuild his trust it's coming down and get everyone back together you did the right thing
37:26there in the wrong way Graham's nearing the end of his working week but there's still one demon to
37:36exorcise he's back in Bristol to face rescue dog buddy a Chinese crested with a dark past and a taste
37:47for chaos angelic with mum Marina possessed with everyone else this hellhound has torn the family upon
38:01no no no that's enough that's enough welcome last time grandson Kieran earned buddy's trust on neutral
38:08ground stop look at that he's looking at him like he does it yeah did you say yeah come again but the
38:13curse won't lift until buddy trusts the whole family and bingo night is back on no no no before buddy came
38:24with us we always on a Saturday I had a game of bingo I just miss all that I miss it terribly now make
38:31no mistake this is not gonna be easy it took quite a while to get him to trust Kieran outside and you
38:37can't force these things so who have we got available in the family today John and Dean will be here in a
38:44minute John and Dean that's great and if we can fix it with them in the room I'm sure you can transfer
38:49that to anybody else yeah for months Marina's been soothing buddy when he kicks off you've got to be
38:56nice sending the wrong message that's a good boy Graham wants to break that habit from now on comfort
39:06only comes when buddy's calm we'll start with him on your lap because that's where he wants to be he
39:11loves it but as soon as he puts a foot wrong you're popping down on the floor right but will Marina
39:17resist the temptation to cuddle her little beast no no no no no now he wants to come back up look
39:29hey I bet you're dying to let him up right because that's the other thing by picking him up you're
39:35effectively going yeah he is scary yeah yeah calm earns affection good boy good boy but the second
39:43he snaps the love stops but when he settles good boy he's rewarded okay pick him up let's see what
39:58happens good boy this is good because normally John you'd have gone yeah that's a result looking in
40:05John's general direction yeah now he's calmer John's been allowed in Dean but a new challenger is about to enter
40:14I thought so no all right your mum knows what to do now yeah no no it's coming down now can you hear it
40:32just pretty well tell you what oh there you go hey good boy right there was a little mistake there
40:42there's a big difference between going good boy and going yeah good boy because that wouldn't rev him
40:49up you did the right thing there in the wrong way he needs to be calm before Marina shows him any
40:55affection good boy good boy buddy has always kicked off when family dared to enter his inner sanctum
41:13but slowly he's learning that quiet gets him what he wants it's nice to have a bit of peace so that
41:20probably took I don't know would you like three or four minutes since you came in yeah by Marina simply
41:25refusing to feed the beast with affection buddy's inner demon is tamed time to see if peace lasts
41:34and Graham's come prepared hey look at that are you what hey I quite like this yeah it's smaller I know
41:44I'm gonna go down the supermarket wearing this later are you ready to play eyes down and your
41:50first number is oh I know this one I don't know if I'm allowed to say this anymore two fat ladies
41:5588 I tell you I've forgotten buddy was here he's so quiet he's been like a little angel yeah
42:01funny all the fives 55 yeah yeah I didn't think I'd achieve that I gotta be honest my expectations
42:13weren't that high yeah I was really amazed none of us could believe it we've definitely turned a
42:18corner for buddy he's learning to trust again learning that not all humans are bad people so
42:26that means that I hope they can enjoy a long and happy family life in Oxford Bobby's finally eating
42:40without the drama in Bristol buddy slipped back into bad habits so Marina's had a refresher with Graham
42:49and back home from puppy school the class have been busy with their homework booze braving the
42:56hoover Winnie's tackling traffic mr. Todd's chilling with the goats and Sidney's met a horse face to face
