00:00What is going on, Summoners?
00:02We're back here today with another Champion Deep Dive.
00:05It's time he took matters into his own hands.
00:09Today, we're talking about Spider Slayer, J. Jonah Jameson.
00:14The Spider Slayer's robotics protect J. Jonah's physical body, granting him immunity to bleed
00:20and poison effects.
00:22The Spider Slayer suit also allows J. Jonah to start each fight with an indefinite, austere
00:28buff.
00:30Austere buffs cannot be removed or prevented by Nullify or Stagger.
00:35Armor ups gained after the first have a lower potency and a duration of 20 seconds, expiring
00:41one at a time.
00:43These armors max out at 12 stacks.
00:46Additionally, J. Jonah isn't trained to land critical hits.
00:50Instead, when he would, the Spider Slayer suit inflicts instant shock, stealing energy damage
00:56equal to the critical damage the hit would have dealt.
00:59J. Jonah's shocks and power burns gain 15% increased potency for each active armor up
01:06effect, up to 20 armors.
01:08And as a defender, J. Jonah's shocks and power burns have 70% reduced potency.
01:14All of J. Jonah's personal effects, as well as the parry and dexterity mastery gain 25% increased
01:21ability accuracy.
01:22Now, we all know that J. Jonah Jameson has a short fuse and cannot stand being manipulated.
01:29So, when he's inflicted with Taunt, Infuriate, Intimidate, or Delirium, he becomes more aggressive,
01:36and he gains a 40% Fury passive for 12 seconds.
01:40These max out at 10 stacks, and they cannot end during his specials.
01:46J. Jonah is a natural at riling up his detractors.
01:50When his opponent strikes his block, he inflicts a 50% Obfuscate debuff for 5 seconds.
01:56These max out at 2 stacks.
01:58Obfuscate debuffs reduce offensive ability accuracy by the given potency.
02:03Now, Jameson has the best front page headlines in the business.
02:08After a fight begins, J. Jonah will improvise a headline for how he will fight the menace who
02:14challenges him, and he'll call out an action for the attacker to complete.
02:19The headlines he requests can change depending on the conditions in the fight,
02:23but the possible headline actions are landing a light attack, a medium attack, charging a heavy,
02:31blocking an attack, inflicting a stun, dodging an attack, and getting a picture of Spider-Man.
02:38More on that one in a bit.
02:41These headlines have 7 seconds to be completed, and they have a 5 second cooldown, but as a defender,
02:48these timers are swapped. If the attacker completes a headline, J. Jonah gains a Spider-Slayer Austere
02:55Armor Up buff, and he inflicts a slow passive for 12 seconds. This slow is paused during special
03:01attacks, and while a Spider-Verse champion is suffering from a slow, he cannot miss.
03:08And when he's awakened, completing a headline inflicts a Cowardous passive for 12 seconds,
03:13and refreshes any existing ones. This Cowardous' potency scales with Sig Level, are paused during
03:20special attacks, and max out at 3 stacks. Also, when the attacker doesn't complete the headline,
03:28J. Jonah loses 1 personal Armor Up. As an attacker, if you get a tough headline to complete,
03:34landing the final hit of his heavy attack during a front page headline refreshes the timer,
03:39while providing a new choice. During special attacks, no new headlines can be created, and as an
03:45attacker, headlines are paused during the opponent's special attacks. To accompany these front page
03:51headlines, J. Jonah takes pictures of his opponent throughout the fight. As an attacker, J. Jonah can
03:58swipe up on his controls to snag a picture of the opponent, causing a blinding flash and passively
04:04faltering them for 3 seconds. And as a defender, the camera is used automatically once J. Jonah starts
04:11to block an attack. Autoblock will not trigger the camera. Once used, the camera goes on cooldown,
04:18and becomes available again after 2 front page headlines have started. And when his opponent
04:24misses while falter, he gains a personal Fury passive. This can only trigger once per falter.
04:30And while falter is active, both Jamison and the opponent are more aggressive. And while his
04:37personal falter is active, he gains stun immunity. Additionally, when Jamison is awakened, he gains an
04:44indefinite austere Armor Up buff when taking a picture of the opponent. This can only trigger once
04:49per fight, but this armor persists between fights if J. Jonah defeats the Menace with at least one of these
04:56armor ups active. These armor's potencies scale with Sig level, and they max out at 8 stacks. Now,
05:04while the opponent is below max power, each hit of his special attacks power burns them up to a combined
05:10total of 10, 20, or 30 percent of their max power based on the level of special attack used, dealing
05:17direct damage. Now, let's take him out for a spin in the champion rotation.
05:25To begin, hold block and swipe up to use your camera and blind your opponent. Let them attack into
05:31your falter and miss so you gain your Fury. Then, you can interrupt their attack to start building power.
05:38While making your way to your special attack, make sure you're completing the front page headline
05:42prompts to gain those armorers to juice up your damage. Once you reach your special 2, your camera
05:48should be off cooldown. So, make sure to take another picture, let them miss, then interrupt them with
05:54your special 2 and watch the missile barrage burn their power and deal some sweet red numbers. Now,
06:02if your opponent isn't already knocked out, just repeat this process until they are. And hey,
06:08when you're questing, don't forget that Jay Jonah can ramp up as he moves through a quest,
06:13and the more menaces he takes down, the more powerful he becomes. So, build up those armor
06:19up buffs and watch the red numbers ignite as Jay Jonah leaves his mark across the contest.
