When speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on January 4, Trump said that he didn't mind Venezuela's interim President Delcy Rodriguez saying that the U.S. had "kidnapped" Nicolas Maduro, conceding that it is "not a bad term" to describe what happened following the strikes this weekend. Trump was unclear as to whether he had spoken with Delcy, but said that the U.S. has been in contact with the acting Venezuelan government, and denied receiving any "pushback."
