00:00Ancient calendars forecasting a deadly countdown.
00:12The Maya have this opinion that what's happened in the past will happen again.
00:17A galactic alignment triggering a wave of natural disasters.
00:23It's like having a whole bunch of massive earthquakes at the same time.
00:26Could our planet really be headed for extinction?
00:30These changes could be life-changing or they could be life-ending.
00:36Or is there another agenda? One even more profound?
00:41Each age for the Mayans was clearly defined and it was defined by the gods returning.
00:47Millions of people around the world believe we have been visited in the past by extraterrestrial beings.
00:54What if it were true?
00:58Did ancient aliens really help to shape our history?
01:03And if so, might evidence of alien contact help to unlock the mystery behind the Mayan prophecies of doom?
01:11All right.
01:14We'll see you next time.
01:16We'll see you next time.
01:18We'll see you next time.
01:20Let's go.
01:52Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula.
01:56For over 2,000 years, rain-drenched jungles and fertile plains served as the home of one of the ancient world's greatest civilizations, the Maya.
02:11Scholars estimate that between 250 and 900 AD, the Mayan population consisted of between 15 to 20 million people.
02:22And extended as far south as Costa Rica and Guatemala.
02:29Archaeological evidence suggests the Maya were one of the first ancient people to develop a written language,
02:36use modern mathematical methods,
02:39and built massive, multi-story celestial observatories.
02:45All at a time when Europeans were struggling through the so-called Dark Ages.
02:50The Maya are considered one of the great advanced civilizations,
02:57with hyper-advanced astronomy, astrology, trigonometry, architecture,
03:03all of these things while the Europeans were, at the time, rolling around in the mud.
03:07But perhaps the most amazing Mayan achievement
03:10was their system of charting the stars and planets in the form of a calendar.
03:15The Mayans were time keepers above and beyond all other things.
03:23Keeping up with time was magic, it was power to the Mayans.
03:28They were tracking in particular Venus, phases of the moon, eclipses,
03:34but they also tracked precession, which is an extraordinarily long cycle.
03:39What it means is that every year on, say, March 15th,
03:46the Pleiades rise for the first time in the sky.
03:51If you wait 72 years, the day of the rising of the Pleiades will be one day earlier.
03:59If you wait another 72 years, it'll be a day earlier still.
04:02And if you wait 26,000 years, the Pleiades will move back to that same day.
04:10According to scholars, the Maya believed that time, like the stars,
04:15moved in repeating patterns, called calendar cycles,
04:19and that these cycles could be used to predict future events.
04:25One of these calendar cycles, the Mayan long count,
04:29lasts for 5,125 years and will end on December 21st, 2012.
04:38But why?
04:39Why did the Maya choose this date?
04:42And what did they believe would happen to our world?
04:45Perhaps a clue can be found in an astronomical phenomenon
04:50located at the center of the Milky Way galaxy,
04:53an area where there are no stars.
04:57The Mayans knew.
04:58Not only did they know where the center of the galaxy was,
05:02but they understood that it was a light year across black hole
05:05that they called the Great Rift.
05:08The Maya believed this was the birth canal of the universe
05:11and that all things came from the birth canal of the universe.
05:16And on December 21st, 2012,
05:19the Earth, the Sun, and this birth canal, the Dark Rift,
05:23are all in perfect alignment.
05:25And this only happens every 26,000 years.
05:30Could the fact that the Maya long count calendar
05:33ends on the same day as this rare alignment in the Milky Way galaxy
05:38be a mere coincidence?
05:41And did this advanced understanding of celestial cycles
05:45really come from ancient Mayan astronomers
05:48observing the stars with only their naked eyes?
05:54The Mayans believed that this knowledge came to them from their gods
05:58and their gods then existed in the stars.
06:01So is it possible that these gods could have been extraterrestrials?
06:06The answer to that question is yes, it's possible.
06:11According to the Maya themselves,
06:14this knowledge was not something that they came up with,
06:18but it was given to them as a gift from the gods.
06:22The gift back then was not material stuff.
06:26It was knowledge.
06:27Knowledge is the currency of the universe.
06:36But even if the information pertaining to the long count calendar
06:40comes from an otherworldly or extraterrestrial source,
06:45why 2012?
06:48What is it about this date that has a special significance?
06:53Researchers believe a clue
06:55may recently have been found among the ruins
06:58of the ancient Mayan city of Tortuguero,
07:01one that was pieced together
07:03from broken fragments of a panel of hieroglyphs
07:06known as Monument No. 6.
07:09In my opinion, the one and only clear reference
07:14to the date in the long count that arrives in 2012
07:18is on Tortuguero Monument 6.
07:22Basically, the inscription in Tortuguero was half destroyed.
07:27And everybody assumed that what it was saying was
07:30that the nine gods would return on December 21, 2012.
07:34But because there was some destruction on that inscription,
07:38certain things were implied.
07:39For years, scholars dismissed the evidence
07:43found at the Tortuguero Monument
07:45as a solitary anomaly
07:47without any special significance.
07:50But on November 24, 2011,
07:54the Mexican National Institute of Archaeology and History
07:57revealed to the world
07:59the existence of a second artifact,
08:01a sun-dried mud brick
08:05that was discovered
08:06at the ancient Mayan city of Comalcalco
08:09with an inscription
08:10many believe refers to an exact date,
08:14December 21, 2012.
08:19It's one of thousands of mud bricks
08:23that we found at Comalcalco.
08:25A very few of them have hieroglyphs on them.
08:28One of them has a date inscribed on it,
08:31which is very rare.
08:32And it says,
08:334-Hau, 3-Kankeen,
08:36which is the calendar round date
08:39that's going to occur in 2012.
08:44Well, the Comalcalco brick is important
08:46because it is verification of the inscription in Tortuguero.
08:50The brick has shown that the people
08:53who thought that it meant
08:54the nine gods were going to return
08:56were right.
08:58An extraterrestrial visitation
09:00one which signals the end of the world.
09:04For most archaeologists and researchers,
09:07the concept is not just a little far-fetched.
09:11They consider it to be more a curiosity
09:13than a prophecy.
09:16But one feature of the brick hieroglyph
09:18is not so easy to dismiss.
09:21The inscriptions on the brick
09:23were apparently carved on the interfacing side,
09:27hidden from view.
09:30Why would they write a date on a brick
09:33and then turn it around
09:35so no one could see it
09:36and put it into the wall?
09:40We can only speculate as to why,
09:42but we believe it's because
09:44the ruling king or the priest
09:46or whoever commissioned the building site
09:48at Comalcalco
09:49didn't want that to be public knowledge.
09:52Why would the Maya conspire
09:55to keep this date secret?
09:57Was it to avoid global panic?
10:00If there is some kind of
10:02doomsday
10:04at the end of the Mayan calendar,
10:06it could be a combination
10:08of pole shifts,
10:10of volcanoes and earthquakes,
10:16and super tidal waves
10:20all over the Earth.
10:23It would be a catastrophic event
10:26for the planet.
10:32Is it really possible,
10:33as ancient astronaut theorists believe,
10:35that the Maya actually received
10:38detailed astronomical knowledge
10:40from ancient alien visitors?
10:43And could this help explain
10:45why their calendar,
10:46which accurately predicts
10:48an extraordinary galactic alignment,
10:51apparently ends
10:52on December 21st, 2012?
10:56Perhaps the answer can be found
10:59by examining the doomsday prophecies
11:01of other ancient cultures.
11:03For if the Maya were attempting
11:06to warn us
11:07of a future cataclysm,
11:09could there be other evidence
11:11that they were not alone?
11:19December 21st, 2012.
11:23According to some researchers
11:25and scholars,
11:26this is the day
11:27when the Mayan calendar suggests
11:29the world will come to an end.
11:31But there is another
11:35equally curious aspect
11:36to the Mayan calendar.
11:38Not when it ends,
11:40but when it begins.
11:43More than 3,000 years
11:45before the Mayan civilization
11:47even existed.
11:51The origin of the long-count calendar,
11:54why they created day one
11:57to be August 13th, 3,114 B.C.
12:01is still a mystery.
12:05It's obviously backdated.
12:08There were no Maya back then.
12:10So why did they backward project
12:133,000 years into the past?
12:16Based on the things
12:16we have learned about the Maya,
12:18it should be something astronomical.
12:20One of the ideas
12:22about why they backdated
12:23it to 3,114 B.C.
12:26is because some kind
12:26of cataclysm happened then.
12:30Recent research has discovered
12:32that an asteroid
12:33or multiple asteroids
12:34did hit an area
12:34around Austria and Europe.
12:40And that could have caused
12:41a blackout of the sky
12:42for several years.
12:43And this is then
12:44when the calendar began.
12:46Scientists at Harvard
12:47and Princeton
12:47have said
12:48that this massive
12:49global worldwide catastrophe,
12:53a mass glaciation
12:54of the planet,
12:55occurred
12:56when this age
12:57of the Mayan calendar begins.
12:59This happened
13:00not within
13:00tens of thousands of years
13:02or hundreds of years,
13:02but within weeks,
13:04within days,
13:05literally.
13:06This took everyone
13:07by surprise.
13:09According to the Mayans,
13:11we are coming
13:11to the end
13:12of the fifth age.
13:14There have been
13:15four catastrophes
13:16before us.
13:17Each one ended up
13:18with a destruction
13:20of the Earth.
13:23And now,
13:25we are just coming
13:26to the end
13:26of the fifth age
13:28of the Mayans,
13:29which will end
13:30now in December
13:31of 2012.
13:33According to the Mayan
13:33predictions,
13:34this will also end
13:35in a giant catastrophe.
13:36The Western view
13:43of time
13:43is very linear.
13:46When we think
13:47about
13:48life,
13:50we see it
13:53as this
13:54linear projection
13:56heading out
13:56into the future.
13:58For the Maya,
13:59they viewed life
14:00very cyclically.
14:02Is it possible
14:05the Mayan calendar
14:06ends on December
14:0821,
14:092012?
14:10Because they
14:11expected that
14:12the fifth age
14:12of man
14:13will end much
14:14in the same way
14:15as it began.
14:18Were they privy
14:19to some ancient
14:20knowledge that has
14:21been lost in time?
14:24And if so,
14:25can proof be found
14:26by examining
14:27similar doomsday
14:29predictions
14:29from other
14:30ancient cultures?
14:37Egyptian time
14:38coding in the
14:38Great Pyramid of Giza
14:39is telling us
14:40that there would be
14:41a series of
14:41water-based catastrophes
14:42between late 2004
14:44through about 2006,
14:46and look what happened.
14:50We have the
14:50ancient tsunami,
14:51which kills
14:51about 250,000 people.
14:55We have
14:55Hurricane Katrina.
14:59Then there's
15:03actually this
15:03trough called
15:04the River of Fire,
15:05which is warning us
15:06of some massive
15:08cosmic event,
15:08maybe a solar flare,
15:09what have you,
15:10but then washes
15:11humanity back
15:11into this pit.
15:15In addition
15:15to the eerie
15:16similarity between
15:17the Mayan
15:18and Egyptian
15:19prophecies,
15:21researchers
15:21have also
15:23noticed a connection
15:24in the doomsday
15:25predictions
15:25of the Hopi Indians
15:27of the American
15:28Southwest.
15:29The Hopi people
15:32of the Native
15:33American nations
15:35believe that
15:35we are in the
15:36fifth age of man
15:37and that this
15:38is an age
15:38of purification
15:39and that it
15:40is near
15:41the end time.
15:42The Hopi
15:43believe that
15:44unless all the
15:45people of the
15:45earth can come
15:46down and live
15:47more in harmony
15:48with themselves
15:48and with the
15:49planet,
15:49that there's
15:50going to be
15:50a great
15:50destruction coming.
15:51in India,
15:59the ancient
15:59Buddhist and
16:00Hindu astronomical
16:01manuscript,
16:03Surya Siddhanta,
16:04predicts that
16:05mankind will soon
16:07reach the end
16:07of the Kali Yuga,
16:09the final age
16:10of man.
16:11The male divinity
16:14Kali that is
16:15referred to in
16:16the end of days
16:16in the Mahabharata
16:18refers to a time
16:19of great chaos
16:21and discord
16:21and depending on
16:23how you read the
16:23dating in the script,
16:24we're well into it.
16:25even the Christian
16:32Bible predicts
16:33in great detail
16:35a horrific
16:36fiery apocalypse.
16:39The Christian
16:40writers on the
16:41end of time
16:42focus on certain
16:43things,
16:44that the Jewish
16:44people return
16:45to the Holy Land
16:46and reclaim it,
16:47which happened
16:48some years ago,
16:49that the nation
16:51thereby established
16:52would finally claim
16:53Jerusalem,
16:54which has happened
16:55some years ago,
16:57that there would be
16:57a great expansion
16:58of the territory
17:00until it was
17:01a very large nation.
17:05Finally,
17:06it is the claiming
17:06of the temple,
17:07which is on Temple Mount,
17:09which is holy
17:10in Islam,
17:11but it must be taken
17:12and restored
17:13to its original condition.
17:16It is that place
17:17that the Messiah
17:18will actually come
17:19to rule the earth
17:20before the end of days.
17:24The idea
17:25that we are living
17:26in end times,
17:28not necessarily
17:29the end of the world,
17:30but the end of a world,
17:31is quite global.
17:38While most ancient
17:40doomsday prophecies
17:41only broadly suggest
17:43the timing
17:43of the so-called
17:44end of days,
17:47the Maya prediction
17:48boldly points
17:50to an exact date.
17:51their long-count calendar
17:53comes to a decisive
17:55end on Friday,
17:56December 21st,
17:582012,
17:59a date
18:00that many scientists
18:01and astronomers
18:02agree
18:03will coincide
18:04with an extremely
18:05rare alignment
18:06of celestial bodies
18:07in the Milky Way
18:09galaxy.
18:10But how could the Mayan
18:12calendar
18:12be so accurate?
18:14It is a true thing
18:17to say about the Maya
18:18that they created
18:19the most elaborate
18:20calendar system
18:21of any culture
18:22in the world.
18:23They had a solar calendar,
18:25but before that
18:26they had the sacred calendar.
18:28When you look
18:29at the ratio
18:30between those two,
18:31you get
18:31365.2422 days
18:37for an actual year.
18:38The atomic clock
18:39says that it's
18:41365.2420,
18:44but they admit
18:46that at the
18:46fourth decimal point
18:47they could be
18:49plus or minus
18:49five wrong.
18:51So,
18:51we're not sure
18:52who's more accurate.
18:53Is it the Maya
18:53or is it the atomic clock?
18:58The sophisticated way
18:59the Maya track time
19:01is incredible
19:02even by today's standards.
19:03It's almost like
19:04they had sophisticated
19:05computer technologies
19:06or programs
19:07that could somehow
19:08run it.
19:09And even today
19:09we're just catching up
19:10and trying to understand
19:12how they managed
19:13to do such an amazing job
19:14way back in prehistory.
19:18The third Maya calendar,
19:20known as the long count,
19:22measured time
19:23in cycles
19:23of 394 years
19:26or 144,000 days.
19:29The long count
19:30is really just like
19:31an endometer
19:32in your car.
19:32It just ticks off days.
19:33It counts
19:34one, two, three,
19:35all the way up
19:36to 144,000
19:37which we call
19:37Bakhtuns.
19:39The Maya long count
19:40calendar
19:41also measured time
19:42in a series
19:43of 13 Bakhtun cycles
19:45totaling
19:465,125 years.
19:50According to scholars,
19:52the dates
19:52stretch from
19:53August 11,
19:543114 B.C.
19:56to December 21,
19:582012.
20:00And there,
20:01inexplicably,
20:02it stops.
20:07Why were the Maya
20:14tracking celestial events
20:15in cycles
20:16of over thousands
20:18of years?
20:19Was it simply,
20:20as some scholars suggest,
20:22because they could?
20:24Or did they,
20:26as ancient astronaut
20:27theorists believe,
20:29create the calendar
20:30as a way
20:30of marking time
20:31until the return
20:32of otherworldly visitors?
20:34beings that were believed
20:37by them
20:38to be gods.
20:41Some calendar systems
20:42from the Mayans
20:42today,
20:43science has no idea
20:44about what they are based on.
20:46But we just know
20:48that they exist
20:49for a specific reason.
20:50So it is clear
20:51that they were given
20:51to them
20:52by an intelligence
20:54who knew
20:54what these calendar rounds
20:55represented.
20:56And so,
20:59what we are seeing
21:00is that
21:01the Mayans
21:03are working
21:04with tools,
21:05technology,
21:06i.e. calendar systems,
21:07which were specifically
21:08engineered
21:09because they had been told
21:10that when certain things
21:12in the skies
21:12looked a certain way,
21:14then the gods
21:15would return.
21:16The Mayans
21:17were incredible
21:18at what they did.
21:19The big question is,
21:21how did they know this?
21:23You have to say
21:24to yourself,
21:24perhaps civilizations
21:26might be much older
21:28than we think
21:29and they passed down
21:30knowledge
21:31for hundreds
21:32and hundreds
21:33of thousands of years
21:34or
21:35somebody came down
21:37and taught them.
21:43Did the Maya
21:44create the long-count calendar
21:46to warn us
21:47of a deadly cataclysm?
21:50Or were they simply
21:51intending to inform us
21:53of the day
21:54which will signal
21:55the return
21:56of their gods?
21:58But who
21:59or what
22:00were these gods?
22:02And what
22:03is their agenda?
22:05According to
22:05ancient astronaut theorists,
22:07the answer
22:08can be found
22:09in the stars.
22:11Tical,
22:18northern Guatemala.
22:24Located within
22:25the dense tropical jungles
22:26of Central America,
22:28this archaeological site
22:30was once one
22:31of the great urban centers
22:32of the Mayan civilization.
22:36Here,
22:37along the Grand Plaza,
22:38the Maya built
22:40seven pyramid-shaped temples
22:42aligned to mimic
22:43the constellation
22:44Pleiades.
22:47They called it
22:48the Seven Sisters
22:49because it consisted
22:50of seven bright stars.
22:52They also believed
22:53that the Pleiades
22:54was at the center
22:56of all fixed stars.
22:58So when they looked
23:00at the Pleiades,
23:01they believed
23:01that that may have been
23:02the center
23:03of all creation.
23:05And they believed
23:06that they came
23:07from the center
23:07of that creation
23:08or,
23:09simply put,
23:10they came from Pleiades.
23:13Why would the Mayans
23:14go through
23:15such a tremendous effort
23:16to recreate
23:17a mirror image
23:19of the stars
23:20on the ground?
23:21Why would they do that?
23:22Unless they wanted
23:24to contact
23:25the extraterrestrial gods
23:27who had originally
23:28given them
23:29the information.
23:30Pleiades was not only
23:32important to the Maya,
23:33it was also important
23:34to Native Americans.
23:36The Cherokee,
23:37for example,
23:38the Hopi,
23:38believed that they
23:39descended from star beings
23:41that came from
23:42the Pleiades star cluster.
23:46According to scholars,
23:48the Maya believed
23:49that powerful gods
23:50descended to Earth
23:51from the stars,
23:53including a feathered serpent
23:54known as Kukul Khan.
23:58According to Mayan legend,
24:00Kukul Khan was
24:00the winged serpent,
24:02some serpent god
24:03who could fly.
24:05Kukul Khan by the Maya
24:06is depicted
24:07in a number of ways.
24:08Sometimes he is human,
24:09sometimes he's a serpent.
24:12Sometimes we see him
24:13emanating
24:13from a serpent's head.
24:16We know that there's
24:17no way
24:18that a human being
24:19can emerge
24:20from a physical serpent.
24:21So the serpent
24:22must stand
24:22for something else,
24:24either a construction
24:24or a device.
24:26Now,
24:26because we know
24:27Kukul Khan
24:28is a deity,
24:29we also definitely
24:31need to consider
24:32that this device
24:33is somehow
24:34a ship
24:34and Kukul Khan
24:35emerges from within
24:37the confines
24:37of the ship
24:38to the outside world
24:39and reveals himself
24:40as a deity
24:41to the people.
24:42Kukul Khan
24:46was the creator
24:48of all life
24:49who led the Maya
24:50into an age
24:52of scientific advancement,
24:54an advancement
24:54of art and architecture.
24:57According to ancient Maya
24:58mythology,
24:59Kukul Khan
25:00left the people
25:00and said he would
25:02return one day.
25:04And many scholars
25:05believe that the ending
25:06of the Maya calendar
25:07on December 21st
25:08this year
25:09will mark
25:09the return
25:10of Kukul Khan.
25:20400 miles north
25:22of Tikal
25:23in the ancient Maya
25:24city of Chichen Itza
25:26stands a uniquely
25:28designed pyramid
25:29built by the Maya
25:31to honor Kukul Khan.
25:32Unlike most of the pyramids
25:36all around the world,
25:37the platform pyramid
25:38we can find
25:39at Chichen Itza
25:40is not directed
25:41in a north-south
25:43or east-west direction,
25:45but it's a little bit off.
25:47There's a specific reason
25:48for that,
25:49and that is
25:50during the spring
25:51and fall equinox,
25:53a shadow play
25:54is cast upon
25:55the side
25:56of the pyramid
25:57signifying
25:58the descent
25:59of Kukul Khan,
26:01the extraterrestrial
26:03descending
26:04from the sky,
26:06staying a while
26:07on earth
26:08and then
26:09ascending
26:10towards the heavens.
26:12What we have here
26:13is an example
26:14of living
26:16mythology.
26:20So my question is,
26:22what did they mean
26:23when they talked
26:25about this deity
26:26that descended
26:26from the sky?
26:27Why was it so important
26:32to the Maya
26:32to build such
26:33an elaborate temple
26:34to honor Kukul Khan?
26:37Did they really expect
26:39this serpent god
26:40to ascend
26:40to the heavens
26:41and then descend
26:43to earth?
26:44Or could Kukul Khan
26:46be something
26:47even more incredible?
26:50Something
26:50not of this world?
26:52So if you look
26:54up in the air
26:55today
26:55and you watch
26:57a plane
26:57and it leaves
26:58behind this plume
26:59of smoke
27:00as it travels
27:00across the sky
27:01and you've got
27:02the snake's tail
27:04wiggling
27:05at its backside.
27:07So if you look
27:07at it from
27:08that perspective,
27:09that can be
27:10described
27:10as a flying snake.
27:13And in my opinion,
27:14that was nothing
27:15else but a description
27:17of some type
27:18of an extraterrestrial
27:19craft
27:19that descended
27:20from the sky
27:21out of which
27:22the gods
27:23lowercase g
27:24emerged
27:25and taught them
27:27in various disciplines.
27:29And the message
27:30is clear.
27:31God Kukul Khan
27:32descended
27:33to the humans.
27:34He was a certain
27:35time among
27:36the humans.
27:37He was the teacher
27:38of the humans
27:39and then he
27:40disappeared again
27:41but with the promise
27:43to return
27:44one day
27:45to the humans.
27:49Is it really
27:50possible
27:50as some ancient
27:51astronaut theorists
27:52suggest
27:53that Kukul Khan
27:55was in fact
27:56a flying spacecraft
27:58engineered
27:59and piloted
28:00by other
28:01worldly visitors?
28:03And if so,
28:05could this explain
28:06the frequent depictions
28:07of this ancient
28:08Mayan god
28:09as having a face
28:11appearing out
28:12of a serpent's head
28:13similar to that
28:14of a pilot
28:15operating a vehicle?
28:17according to researchers
28:22clues to the connection
28:24between the Maya
28:25and other worldly beings
28:26can also be found
28:28in the Mayan manuscript
28:29known as the Popol Vuh
28:31meaning
28:32the book
28:33of the people.
28:35It is a collection
28:35of the only known
28:37Maya oral histories
28:38still surviving.
28:41Translated and written
28:42in the mid-16th century,
28:43this book
28:45encompasses
28:45a range of subjects
28:47including
28:48Mayan creation myths.
28:51The Popol Vuh
28:51begins with nothing.
28:53There's nothing there.
28:56There's a watery surface
28:57but there's no sky,
28:59there's no land.
29:00The gods emerge
29:02out of this water.
29:06They begin with nothing
29:08and the gods decide
29:10to make people
29:11coming right out
29:12of one of the most
29:13seemingly inhospitable
29:16places
29:16for civilization
29:17to sprout
29:18comes this culture
29:20the Maya
29:20who create
29:22this collection
29:22of independent
29:24city-states
29:25and build pyramids.
29:27They develop
29:27a written language
29:28and a mathematical system.
29:30They grow up
29:31into this forest there
29:32reaching populations
29:34into the multi-millions.
29:36In the Popol Vuh
29:39it clearly states
29:40that life was brought here
29:43by the gods
29:44and that those gods
29:46came from outer space.
29:48It doesn't say
29:49that they came
29:50from inner earth.
29:51It also doesn't say
29:52that they came
29:53from another continent
29:54or another land
29:55but it states
29:57specifically
29:58that they descended
29:59from the sky
30:00and essentially
30:02brought knowledge
30:03to planet earth.
30:04What you have
30:08in the Popol Vuh
30:09is very much
30:10like a manual.
30:11There's something
30:11what you want to give
30:12to the people
30:12and say
30:13this is what
30:14we, our ancestors
30:16have decided
30:17together with the gods
30:18and this is really
30:19what you should keep
30:20in mind
30:20for the next few centuries
30:22up until the moment
30:23in time
30:24when the gods return.
30:27Is it really possible
30:29as ancient astronaut
30:30theorists believe
30:31that the Maya god
30:33Kugelkong
30:34was an extraterrestrial
30:36entity
30:36one that is destined
30:38to return
30:39one day
30:40from the stars
30:41and if so
30:43does it suggest
30:44that there may be truth
30:46to another Mayan legend
30:48one that predicts
30:49that our time on earth
30:51may be
30:52running out.
30:54monument number six
30:59on this stone tablet
31:02are carved
31:04a series
31:04of ancient
31:05Mayan hieroglyphs
31:06that according
31:08to scholars
31:09ominously predict
31:10a cataclysmic event
31:12on December 21st
31:142012.
31:15This is a long monument
31:17that talks about
31:19the lifetime
31:20of a particular king
31:22but at the end of it
31:24goes forward
31:25into the future
31:26takes this big leap
31:27from the 600s AD
31:29up to 2012.
31:32Definitely says
31:34Borahau
31:358 Conkeen
31:36arriving the 13th
31:38Bakhtun
31:39or 400 year period
31:40but then there are
31:41only three lifts
31:42and they are eroded
31:44and broken partially.
31:46Some scholars believe
31:48that the eroded glyphs
31:49on monument six
31:50suggest
31:51that Bolon Yachty
31:53a god similar
31:54to Kukulkan
31:55will return
31:56at the end
31:57of the Mayan calendar.
32:00The Maya specialist
32:01can read it
32:02will descend
32:04from heaven
32:05god
32:06Bolon Yachty
32:08Bolon Yachty
32:12was one of the Maya gods
32:13who was present
32:14with the creation
32:16of man.
32:17So they say
32:17will they send
32:19god Bolon Yachty
32:21so some gods
32:22some extraterrestrials
32:23were expected
32:25to return
32:26and definitely
32:27some of the gods
32:28will return
32:30there is absolutely
32:31no doubt.
32:36Who was this
32:38Bolon Yachty?
32:38according to the documents
32:41that have survived
32:42and they're only
32:43fragmentary
32:44he was always
32:46described
32:46as someone
32:47with great powers
32:49who had the capacity
32:50of flight
32:51and who had
32:52incredible knowledge
32:53about the universe.
32:56The god
32:57Bolon Yachty
32:59is not
33:00a very well
33:00understood god.
33:02Sometimes
33:02he's associated
33:04with texts
33:05that talk about
33:05the beginning
33:06of creation
33:07back in 3114 BC
33:10and we see him
33:11in some context
33:13that seem
33:13to be connected
33:14with war.
33:18Bolon Yachty
33:19was also described
33:20as being
33:21very tall
33:22and very shiny
33:23glowing.
33:25Is it possible
33:26that what we have
33:28here is a description
33:29of an ancient alien?
33:31And the answer
33:32is yes.
33:33But while there
33:37is much mystery
33:38surrounding the legend
33:39of Bolon Yachty
33:40researchers say
33:41the ancient Maya
33:42believed this entity
33:44had visited
33:45their ancestors
33:46before
33:46thousands of years
33:48in the past.
33:50There is another
33:51reference
33:52to Bolon Yachty
33:53at Palenque
33:54in Temple 14
33:55where it is
33:57clearly stated
33:58that Bolon Yachty
33:59appeared on Earth
34:00over 900,000 years ago.
34:04Why would anyone
34:06in their right mind
34:07record a date
34:08that goes back
34:09over 900,000 years ago?
34:12Well,
34:13something happened,
34:15something very significant
34:17and according
34:18to the ancient texts
34:19that is when
34:20Bolon Yachty
34:21descended to Earth
34:23from the sky.
34:24Similar stories
34:31suggesting
34:31that the Maya
34:32were in some way
34:33connected to
34:34otherworldly beings
34:35can be found
34:37in an ancient Maya text
34:38known
34:39as the Chilam Balam,
34:41a collection
34:42of oral histories
34:43passed down
34:44through the ages.
34:46The Chilam Balam books
34:48were written
34:49between the 16th
34:50and the 18th centuries.
34:51When the Spanish
34:54conquerors
34:54were already there,
34:56first the Spanish
34:57arrived.
34:57They found hundreds
34:58of Maya writings.
35:00They destroyed them all.
35:01But then some
35:02of the priests
35:03escaped
35:03and they start
35:05to write up
35:05their old knowledge.
35:07That's the reason
35:08how the Chilam Balam
35:10books came to existence.
35:11The name Chilam Balam
35:16is actually
35:17the name
35:18for a priesthood
35:19who were
35:20kind of the
35:22historians
35:23of communities
35:24in the Yucatan.
35:27But we have
35:27this collection
35:28of books
35:29that we call
35:29the Chilam Balam.
35:32These are the books
35:32in which we find
35:33this information
35:34about how
35:35the Maya believe
35:37that what's happened
35:38before will happen again.
35:39In the opinion
35:42of the people
35:43that write
35:44the Chilam Balams,
35:45they believe them
35:45to be very accurate.
35:48The Chilam Balam
35:49talks about
35:50these 20-year periods.
35:51In this 20-year period,
35:53you could see
35:53it was a bad time
35:55for us.
35:56We can expect
35:56negative things
35:58to befall us.
35:59And of course,
35:59one of the most
36:00negative and bad luck
36:01times they have
36:02is the arrival
36:03of the Spanish.
36:05And they point to that
36:06as see clearly
36:07in the cycles of time,
36:09we could almost
36:09predict that this
36:10calamity was bound
36:12to happen to us
36:13at this time.
36:18In the Chilam Balam,
36:20it states that
36:21the god Bolanyakti
36:22will someday return
36:23and battle
36:24the deities of heaven
36:25in an epic war
36:27of good versus evil.
36:30Each age
36:31for the Mayans
36:32was clearly defined.
36:33And it was defined
36:34by the gods returning.
36:35And so what we have
36:37today or in the near future
36:39is the imminent arrival
36:41according to the Mayan
36:42tradition of these deities.
36:44This prediction
36:45of a final
36:46apocalyptic battle
36:48between good and evil
36:49as described
36:50in the Chilam Balam
36:51can also be found
36:53in the Christian Bible's
36:55book of Revelation.
36:57It is interesting
36:59that if you look
36:59at the last book
37:00of the Bible,
37:01it talks about
37:01some great war
37:02in heaven
37:02between the Archangel
37:03Michael and the
37:04great dragon.
37:04Is there some
37:06last great war
37:08in heaven
37:08that occurs
37:09at this final age?
37:11If the Maya prophecy
37:13about the return
37:14of Bolanyakti
37:15is true,
37:16might there really
37:17be a so-called
37:18battle between
37:19good and evil?
37:20One that will result
37:22in the annihilation
37:23of all mankind?
37:26But how?
37:27planet Earth
37:35although there are
37:37many theories
37:38about its age
37:39and origin,
37:40one fact
37:41is certain.
37:43Our planet
37:44is billions
37:45of years old
37:46and mankind's
37:49existence
37:49on its surface
37:50is relatively
37:51recent
37:52and fragile.
37:56Throughout history,
37:57the biggest threat
37:58to mankind
37:59has come in the form
38:00of natural disasters.
38:04But does that mean
38:05the world will end
38:06on December 21st, 2012?
38:10Recent evidence
38:11has shown
38:12that the ancient
38:13Mayans possess
38:14knowledge about
38:15the universe
38:15and its fate
38:16that we are only
38:18just beginning
38:19to understand.
38:24According to the Mayans,
38:25the world
38:26has already ended
38:27four times
38:28before this
38:29coming cataclysm.
38:31It ended before
38:32in fire
38:33and in ice
38:34and in water.
38:38And this next cataclysm
38:40could be a combination
38:42of all that
38:43or even
38:44something completely
38:45different.
38:46not only did
38:50the Mayans
38:50know our place
38:51in the universe,
38:52but they also knew
38:53how old
38:53the universe was.
38:55Mayans put the date
38:56of the universe
38:56at 16.4 billion years.
38:59Modern science today
39:00puts it at about
39:0114.5, maybe 15,
39:03and yet the better
39:03our technology gets,
39:05the more we begin
39:05to realize
39:06that the Mayans
39:06were correct.
39:10Is it possible then,
39:12as the Mayans
39:13predicted,
39:13that the Earth
39:14and Sun
39:15will align
39:16with a black hole
39:17on December 21st, 2012?
39:20And if so,
39:22will such a cosmic event
39:24have dire consequences
39:26for our world?
39:28The Tibetans believe
39:30that the Sun
39:31is a lens,
39:32that it activates
39:36and amplifies
39:37things behind it
39:38or things coming
39:38in front of it.
39:39If that's the case,
39:41on December 21st,
39:42you have an energy
39:43that's coming
39:43from the center
39:45of the galaxy
39:45that comes from
39:47the dark rift,
39:47that comes from
39:48the womb
39:48of the galaxy,
39:50if you will,
39:50that is now going
39:51to be amplified
39:51by the Sun
39:52that is going to have
39:54some kind
39:55of effect
39:56on humanity.
39:57I think the Mayans
40:01had an understanding
40:02of celestial mechanics.
40:04They understood
40:05that the Sun
40:07was going through change
40:09and so my belief
40:10is that something
40:12will happen
40:13with the Sun.
40:14Well, we know
40:17from past experiences
40:17that solar flares
40:18can interfere
40:19with electronic equipment.
40:21We could see
40:21the power grid
40:22go down,
40:22for example.
40:23We could see
40:24major things change
40:26in modern society
40:27that pretty much
40:28would cripple us.
40:29But if we're talking
40:30about losing
40:30that ability
40:32for an extended
40:32period of time,
40:33I dare say,
40:34we'd be talking
40:35about a scenario
40:36that would result
40:36in major changes
40:38and quite possibly
40:39some very ill effects.
40:44Some researchers speculate
40:46that the galactic alignment
40:48might change
40:49or even reverse
40:50how the Earth spins
40:51on its axis
40:52by altering
40:54its magnetic field.
40:56A sign of the magnetic field
40:58changing quickly
40:58would mean something
41:00has to happen dramatically
41:01to the angular momentum
41:03of the stuff
41:03inside the Earth,
41:04which might also mean
41:06something happens
41:07drastically
41:07to the spin
41:08of the Earth itself.
41:09And once you change
41:10the rotation of the Earth,
41:12you do have a chance
41:12of causing huge effects.
41:15It's like having
41:16a whole bunch
41:17of massive earthquakes
41:18at the same time.
41:20We talk about
41:21a magnitude 7
41:22or a magnitude 8
41:23or a magnitude 9
41:24earthquake
41:24as being destructive
41:26beyond imagination.
41:28But what would
41:28a magnitude 12
41:30or a magnitude 20
41:31earthquake do?
41:33Could it replace
41:34the land with the sea
41:36and the sea
41:36with the land?
41:38We're talking about events
41:39that we've never
41:39experienced before.
41:41So some of these changes
41:43that people are talking
41:44about that could occur
41:45could be life-changing
41:47or they could be
41:48life-ending.
41:54Will the Earth
41:55really be affected
41:56by some strange,
41:58powerful,
41:59astronomical alignment?
42:01One that will have
42:02profound consequences
42:03for all of us?
42:06And if so,
42:07might those consequences
42:09come in the form
42:10of death
42:10and destruction?
42:13Or might there be
42:14another,
42:15perhaps more positive,
42:16outcome?
42:17the end of the Mayan
42:22long count could mean
42:23some doomsday
42:25for planet Earth.
42:26Or on the other hand,
42:27perhaps it is the return
42:28of the extraterrestrial gods
42:30as the Mayans believed.
42:34It's hard to know
42:35the future,
42:36what's going to happen
42:37at the end of 2012.
42:39But it seems that perhaps
42:41the Mayans had some glimpse
42:43into the future
42:44that we have yet
42:45to find out.
42:51We are living in a time,
42:52specifically a culture,
42:54which really doesn't address
42:55the ancient alien theory
42:57that we are not alone.
42:58It is indeed going to come
42:59for a global village
43:01as a complete revelation
43:03that we are not alone.
43:05And that is really,
43:05I think,
43:06a gift from the Mayans
43:07when it comes to 2012.
43:08It is absolutely correct
43:12that a calendar round
43:13is about to end,
43:15but that does not signify
43:17the end of the world.
43:19In fact,
43:20the only thing it signifies
43:22is the beginning
43:23of another calendar round,
43:26of another period in time.
43:32Could the Mayan doomsday prophecies
43:35really come true?
43:36Will December 21st, 2012,
43:41signal the end
43:42of civilization
43:43as we know it?
43:45Or are the dire predictions
43:47nothing more than a myth,
43:50a misinterpretation
43:51of an even greater truth?
43:55Perhaps what awaits us
43:57is not the end of our world,
43:59but a new beginning,
44:01one that will reveal
44:03the celestial origins
44:05of man.
44:07functioning included
44:09in our world,
44:10the entire tod pot
44:11will be possessed
44:13in some places
44:14and a much more
44:14of an understanding
44:16of a unique
44:17of odd television
44:18flock in the north.
44:24That is correct.
44:24Now,
44:26we are underаемся
44:27in a moment.
44:28In a moment
44:29and we can accountable
