A man remains trapped underground following a roof collapse at a coal mine in Central Queensland, with specialist rescue services working to reach him.

00:00Authorities were called here to the Curra Mine complex north of Blackwater at about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon following reports of an incident at its mammoth underground mine.
00:12One man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while another man is still missing.
00:19The mine's operator, contracted through Coronado Global Resources, says operations at the mine have been suspended until further notice.
