Around 50 people braved the cold weather - and possibly hangovers - to take part in a Community Clean-up in Bordon organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association. More than 20 bags were filled in the 7am event on New Year's Day.

00:00My name is Jodie. I am the founder of Y Plus Youth Services. We work with teenagers across
00:06East Hampshire. I came here to pick up litter but actually I was really surprised how clean it was
00:13today. But we did get lots and lots but it really surprised me. Happy New Year everyone. Good
00:19morning. My name is Zachariya Seti. I am 11 years old and I've been doing litter picking for three
00:26years in a row. 2026 is my fourth year now. My name is Layla Seti and I've been doing litter picking
00:34for four years and I really enjoy doing the litter picking because it helps lots of different people
00:41and it helps our environment. And then we headed to our local streets around 7 o'clock, 7.15 in the
00:47morning. We were joined by local residents. The community members from the Ahmati Muslim community
00:51got together. We collected more than 500 bin bags full of litter and then we had a warm breakfast
00:58around 8 o'clock all across the UK and that's how we started having New Year's Day by contributing
01:05to the communities that we live in. Everything that the Ahmati Muslim do is just absolutely amazing
01:10and if I can do one small thing to be a part of that and to give back and to get some amazing tea
01:17because it's my favourite.
