00:00Timer quirks and auto shut off on your Ninja Double Oven?
00:03If you've ever wondered why your timer acts differently,
00:06or why the oven shuts down after sitting,
00:08here's what's really going on.
00:10So you don't lose track of a cook.
00:12Quirk 1. Timers don't run until preheat is finished.
00:15When you press start, the display shows preheat.
00:18The timer won't begin counting down until the oven is fully hot.
00:22Plan for that extra warm-up time if you need precision.
00:25Quirk 2. Top and bottom ovens count independently.
00:28Each cavity has its own timer.
00:30If you start both at once, the displays will count down separately.
00:33Use smart finish if you want both ovens to end together.
00:36Quirk 3. Automatic standby after 10 minutes.
00:39If you don't press anything for 10 minutes,
00:41the oven shuts off and goes into standby.
00:44That's normal, and it saves power.
00:46Press power once to wake it again.
00:48Tip. Stage your flips and checks.
00:50Since the timer only tracks active cook time,
00:53plan flips or basting while the countdown is running.
00:56Wear long oven mitts and move quickly.
00:58I've linked the heat-resistant mitts I use in the description.
01:01Quirk 4. Auto shut off at the end of cooking.
01:04When the timer hits zero, the oven beeps, shows end, and shuts off the heaters automatically.
01:10The cooling fan may keep running until the oven drops below 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
