00:00We're at Elephant Odyssey at the cat exhibit today in front of the jaguars.
00:07We're really excited because our female and our male were put together for breeding purposes.
00:12Our female's name is Nindiri and she's almost four and our male jaguar's name is Guapo and he's almost six.
00:19This is the first time Nindiri, our female, has ever been with a male so she's a little bit confused about what she's supposed to do.
00:27But she's learning. We did see two breeding sessions in the past couple of days and pretty much she's relentless.
00:36She's not letting him alone. So wherever he is, she's got to be.
00:41When he gets up to move around, she'll get up and follow him. Sometimes she'll nip at his feet or paw swat at his tail.
00:47Then he'll turn around and try and put her in her place and she'll roll over on her back trying to say, look how cute I am.
00:53It can look pretty rough, but he is certainly equipped to fend her off if he needs to.
01:02Typically jaguars are solitary animals. We put them together because Nindiri was in the middle of her breeding cycle.
01:21We suspect today is her last day of her breeding cycle. So starting tomorrow they will be separated again and kept in separate areas until she has another breeding cycle in approximately a month.
01:33So in the winter we will see each other there.
01:37So we'll see each other again.
01:39Let's move on next week.
01:43Let me see you in the next week.
01:45I just saw you in the next week.
01:47So you need to, if it's got to be a group of myself, which is going to be an easy and easy.
