00:00There are reports of a third day of protests happening today in Tehran,

00:05and this is over the economic situation in the country.

00:10What is happening on the ground, and what more can you tell us about these protests taking place?

00:15As you said, it's a third day of demonstrations in Iran.

00:19It started in Tehran Bazaar, but it developed into few areas of Tehran so far.

00:27I mean, on the first day, we had about 14 different areas of Tehran, which people had demonstrated.

00:33Later in the evening, it spread into a few other cities,

00:37which police used tear gas in order to try to somehow send them away.

00:43And today, the government was, the spokesperson for the government for Iranian states

00:53said that they want to negotiate with the protesters.

00:58This is the first time that we are hearing such a thing.

01:01But at the same time, there has been clashes here and there.

01:04The main group that they were added into the demonstrators were students in various universities in Iran,

01:12and especially in Tehran, in various faculties and departments and universities.

01:17They came out.

01:18They had clashes with the security forces.

01:21And of course, I mean, the Iranian government failed to do every right steps that they could take

01:27during the last few years and specifically during the last few months.

01:31After they had a snapback, they tried to decrease the influence and level of importance that it had for the economy.

01:40And now, yes, two days ago, the president was talking into the parliament and said that,

01:45oh, we cannot pay the salaries.

01:48So they failed to change anything in their behavior, in their plans.

01:54They failed to have a new economic, at least to the way that it would make it possible for people to also have a normal breath.

02:07So I guess this is the main reason that people are so angry.

02:12And even on the social media, you see that people are talking about disappointment, lack of hope.

02:19They don't know how to cope with life.

02:22And the slogans in the demonstrations are not only about how they are going to survive.

02:28It's mainly against the government.

02:30It's mainly requesting for the Khamenei to go.

02:36It's dead to dictators.

02:38And also there were like chanting slogans in favor of Reza Pahlavi, the former prince of Iran.
