00:00Now, in Bolivia, security forces crack down on workers protesting against Rodrigo Paz Decree 5503.

00:07On the ninth day of the fight against Rodrigo Paz policies, Bolivian workers intensified their protest measures

00:13by setting up hunger strike, picket lines and marching in the center of La Paz.

00:18The union mobilization aims to repair the regulation approved by the executive, which includes the elimination of fuel subsidies.

00:26In this regard, a new assembly is expected to be held in the next few hours to evaluate the development of the protest.

00:34Union leaders also announced that the marches will continue in the main streets of the center of La Paz.

00:40And in an interview with Telesur, the executive secretary of the Bolivian Workers Central, Mario Argoglio,

00:54denounced a deep social and economic crisis that is driving workers to extreme measures such as hunger strikes.

01:00I am deeply concerned about the political situation in our country. We face a profound social crisis.

01:11Raising living costs, unemployment and the loss of purchasing power have pushed the poorest classes into desperation,

01:18forcing them into the streets and even hunger strikes.

01:28This reflects the anguish of our comrades, while the government turns a deaf ear.

01:34As leaders, it pains us to see workers resort to such extreme measures.
