00:00Where the land is old, the animals are wilder, and even the smallest act of kindness can change a life.
00:07Africa isn't just a place, it's a force that humbles you the minute you arrive.
00:12A land that feels ancient, untamed, but full of purpose.
00:18We've tracked zebra through dust and thorn and tasted the reward over open flame.
00:24But the story doesn't stop with that hunt, because here, every day brings a new kind of mission.
00:30And not all of them include pulling a trigger.
00:33We came here to make memories, but we also came to make a difference.
00:38Today, we're headed into a small town to pick up school supplies.
00:41Not for us, but for kids who really need it.
00:45I'm Kyle Green. I travel the globe with my best friends hunting for wild game and dynamic conservation stories.
00:52Join us on our adventure as we escape the shackles of the modern world and gain a deeper understanding of where our food comes from.
00:59Welcome to the Greenway Outdoors.
01:13As far as the blue bags go, what do we put in them, who are we taking them to, and why?
01:18A lot of paper and scissors and sharpeners for the pencils and educating stuff, you know, so they can...
01:26School supplies.
01:26School supplies.
01:30We're going to get school supplies and all the things that will help and benefit people that don't have them otherwise.
01:35We want to have more people come and do the same thing.
01:38My name is Kyle, by the way. What's your name?
01:41Very nice to meet you. What's your name?
01:43Flora.
01:43Very nice to meet you. Flora, I love that name.
01:46We won't put it in the bags until the end, but this is... we'll leave with them in here if that's okay.
01:52Perfect. I'll put it right here for now.
01:58When you look at, like, buying notebooks and pens and papers and stuff like that,
02:01it might sound like you're getting, like, socks for Christmas for kids and they're not going to be happy about it,
02:05but the opportunity to learn and use this stuff is actually what excites the kids most.
02:10probably just after the candy, so it's actually what they want.
02:13Thank you for your help. Appreciate it very much.
02:17So, pens and paper.
02:18I'm taking coloring books for them, so they can color in with that.
02:23Love it.
02:23I'm going to get a couple of the classic children's Bibles.
02:26We've just spent about $265 American.
02:35I think this would have been probably around $800, something like that, in the States.
02:41Maybe $650 at the least.
02:45It was out.
02:46Absolutely.
02:48Absolutely.
02:49Thank you very much.
02:50Very happy to.
02:51Thank you for your time.
02:52Thank you for your help.
02:52Thank you for everything.
02:56Bye, donkey.
02:56We'll see you later.
02:58Bye.
02:59Bye-bye.
03:01It was kind of special how those ladies were like, they were very standoffish in the beginning,
03:05but then once we spent some time with them and they knew what it was for, they were like loving and caring and grateful.
03:11The last stop took us to a grocery store to pick up candy, snacks, and toiletries for the kids.
03:18Yeah, I would like to do toothbrushes.
03:20My aunt would be very proud.
03:21She's a dental hygienist.
03:23And if I got them this and no toothbrushes, I'd probably get hurt for that.
03:27Is hygiene important to the kid?
03:29Like, not necessarily the kid, but do they have a lot of hygiene options?
03:32No, they don't have all hygiene options.
03:34You know, some of them don't even have warm water to bath and take warm showers.
03:39Right.
03:39Facing the reality of what these kids live with every day was humbling.
03:44They don't have access to warm water, let alone soap.
03:48So we decided to load up on hygiene supplies.
03:51At checkout, we were met with more smiling faces.
03:54Kind, energetic women who joked with us, laughed with us, and thanked us for helping their community.
03:59I know I'm missing something.
04:05Perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect.
04:07Well, it was nice meeting all of you.
04:09Have a very blessed day.
04:12Thank you, thank you, thank you.

04:33Your adventure starts here.
04:38Welcome back to the Greenway Outdoors.
04:40We are in South Africa.
04:42So far, we've picked up toiletries, school supplies, and a few treats for underprivileged kids.
04:48But the most important thing we can give them is protein.
04:51Their diet mostly consists of grits, which is cheap and filling, but lacking in the nutrients growing kids really need.
04:59Meat is a luxury here, but clean organic protein can make a real difference.
05:04We already have a zebra, but we want to see what else we can bring to donate.
05:08Tommy has a great spot picked out near a watering hole that attracts game from miles away.
05:15So we're going to build a blind for Jeffrey overlooking the watering hole.
05:19You know, we take it for granted in the States.
05:21I can just run to Bass Pro Shop and buy a blind.
05:24But in this situation, they have to use the land and what's here.
05:27So, you want to blind, you better start cutting brush.
05:39What are you at, Dad?
05:54Bro, you guys call this your winter?
05:58This is like more than our summer for sure.
06:01Like, this is hot.
06:03Does it get any cooler?
06:05Yeah, well, I think there's coming a cold front coming up probably another two days.
06:09Oh, good.
06:10It might.
06:10It's going to drop two degrees.
06:11Yeah, it might go below 90.
06:12So, the makeshift blind is going to have wire going from here to here to here.
06:27So, you're going to have a big, basically, blocker.
06:30Water sources down that way, and then we'll fill it with brush.
06:33So, these two wires will kind of act as our wall, and then we're going to put brush all
06:42along it to block us.
06:49This reminds me of duck hunting.
06:52In the States, we make blinds all the time like this because you need brush blinds when
06:56you're in the swamps.
06:59Hey, guys, welcome to Greenway Cribs.
07:05I want to show you around the pad.
07:07We're just moving in right now, and it's spacious.
07:11You know, we've got a hole in the ground for a toilet.
07:13Love that.
07:14This bush blind cost 400,000 Rand.
07:18Which equals?
07:20Like $20,000.
07:22Oh, I think we, well, we were balling on a budget.
07:2520,000, maybe a little bit on the high end.
07:27But we went with, like, a green theme, but in all reality, we've got a nice hole here
07:31overlooking the water.
07:33And my hope is that we're going to have either a kudu or an eland or something like that come
07:37in, and we'll sit out here all day.
07:39The bugs are a little rough, but at least it's winter and not summer here.
07:43Once the blind was completed, we went back to the lodge to cool off and wait for the golden
07:54hour when animals would be on the move.
07:57Once the time came, Dolph and Jeff got settled into the Chateau La Green hunting blind and
08:02waited for their opportunity.
08:04It did not take long.
08:06Oh, there's two of them.
08:09Those aren't blue.
08:10Those are, those are golden wildebeest.
08:13Shoot one in the back.
08:14There's one standing in the back.
08:16You have to shoot one in the back.
08:17It's going to go to the right, and then you can shoot it.
08:19Oh.
08:32And I'm back in the 50s and 60s in Botswana.
08:35My granddad come from there, and yeah, they shot all the golden ones out.
08:40They thought it was like something wrong with them or something.
08:43And there was a guy, I think it was in the 60s, 65s, and they, they caught a few of them
08:49and they started bedding with them.
08:51Now, a lot of people got them and they brought them back again, you know, so that's a good
08:55thing.
08:55I would be surprised to see these surviving in the wild.
08:58You can just imagine there's been little ones and there's one, one like this, an odd
09:02looking one, you know.
09:03Yeah.
09:03A lion and a leopard will go for something like this.
09:06Yeah.
09:06Then you go for the sick one, the slow one.
09:08Yes, yes.
09:08The bright colored one.
09:09Exactly.

09:26OnX Hunt, know where you stand with the number one hunting app.
09:29Sea-Doo, live the Sea-Doo life.
09:33This is a Greenway Outdoors exclusive conservation story brought to you by Ram Trucks.
09:39For nearly a century, hunters have led the charge in conservation.
09:43And today, that work continues.
09:45I met up with Mike Clements to learn how to make hen houses for mallard ducks.
09:51Most birds will make their own nests.
09:53Mallards do not.
09:54So you've got to give them everything they need to have.
09:56So what do they do in nature then, if they don't have this?
09:58They find objects to live up in.
10:00So a popular one is trees that are blown over.
10:03This is way better than the house that they don't have currently.
10:06Yes.
10:06If I had one thing to teach people, it's like, when hunters hunt, they put in money and they
10:14do conservation work, which creates habitat and better circumstances for game, the numbers
10:19go up, they harvest the surplus, but there's bigger and healthier populations because of
10:24it.
10:24Welcome back to the Greenway Outdoors.
10:32In Africa, every hunt isn't just a trophy.
10:36It's a lifeline.
10:37Jeff's wildebeest provided 185 pounds of meat for our donation.
10:42My zebra added another 215 pounds, giving us a combined total of 400 pounds of high quality
10:49protein.
10:49It's a strong start, but Tommy's gut tells him we'll need at least 600 pounds in order
10:55to feed every child and family that we plan to visit.
10:58And falling short is not an option.
11:00A kudu or an eland could put us well over the mark.
11:04And while Jeff was harvesting his wildebeest, Tommy and I were already writing the next chapter
11:09in our own hunt.
11:10We're on our way to the piece of property that Tommy has access to.
11:20And it's just exciting to see all the different animals.
11:25There's the one on the left.
11:27Left?
11:28Yes.
11:28That's a big one.
11:30Are they both males?
11:32Yes, both are males.
11:33These two mature kudu bulls were exactly what we were looking for.
11:39And this is the ultimate situation.
11:42The kudu are distracted eating leaves off the tree, and they have no idea that we're
11:48there.
11:49He's eating leaves.
11:50He's not giving me a shot.
11:52Okay, do you go on the shoulder.
11:53I just need him to turn a little bit.
12:04There it is.
12:05There you go.
12:08Reload.
12:08Reload.
12:10I'm not.
12:11He's down.
12:12No, that's down.
12:13He's a great shot.
12:14I'm shaking afterwards.
12:16No, he's done.
12:23I've never seen one up close before.
12:29It's like a dream come true, Tommy.
12:30Yeah, for sure.
12:42We've got a saying, how I grew up, is God bless this animal.
12:48You know, so if you look at it here, and just put your three fingers on that three white spots
12:53day, and God bless this animal.
12:56Oh, I see.
12:56You understand?
12:57That's his fingerprints, and then he bless this animal for us.
13:01Yeah.
13:01I love that.
13:02Yeah.
13:04It's something that I grew up with my dad, and that's what we think about it.
13:08And yeah.
13:10It's special.
13:11It's very special.

13:47Welcome back to the Greenway Outdoors.
13:50From the dense woods to the open fields, we have harvested enough kudu, zebra, and wildebeest
13:56meat to surpass our 600-pound goal, which is enough to feed every child and family we plan
14:02to help.
14:03But this mission was never just about the hunt.
14:06Earlier in the week, we filled carts with school supplies, food, and essentials.
14:10Now, it's time to deliver them.
14:12And to see the faces of the kids that make every minute of this journey worth it.
14:17We're on our way to the school right now.
14:19We're just a few minutes away.
14:20And I feel, like, kind of nervous, but excited at the same time.
14:25But it's not lost on me that it's a big deal that we're taking these bags and these supplies
14:29to these kids, as well as meat for their family so they'll have food to eat.
14:34But I don't want this to be about me.
14:36And I want to make sure it's known that so many hunters and so many incredible people
14:41at SEI, people like Tommy, hunters that have come here, have done this long before I have.
14:46This is my first time.
14:48I deserve absolutely no credit.
14:50The people that have set up this program to do it are the ones that deserve the credit.
14:53So I want to humbly go in and just be grateful for the opportunity to interact with these
14:58kids, tell them a little bit about Jesus, give them food for their families, and just love
15:02on them a little bit.
15:03Because the people that have done this before me, they're the ones who set all this up.
15:16I brought a lot of presents for all of you.
15:28We brought lots of fun stuff.
15:30We started out by handing over the school supplies to the teachers.
15:36Well, you know what's more fun than that?
15:38Coloring books.
15:40So we've got coloring books.
15:42Yes.
15:42Tommy and Jeff frantically filled up the soccer balls and handed them out.
15:47You're very welcome.
15:49You're very welcome.
15:52You're welcome.
15:54It came as no surprise that the biggest reaction of the day came from the candy and treats.
16:00You're up.
16:02Here you go, princess.
16:03I don't think these kids are going to learn anything else today.
16:13No, no.
16:13We are learning soccer and candy today.
16:15Sugar and, yeah.
16:16Yes.
16:18You all done with it?
16:20I got it.
16:25Did you have a good day?
16:26Yeah.
16:27No, no, no, no.
16:29I want you to have it.
16:31One of the things that keeps happening is the kids keep giving me back the candy.
16:34No, I want you to have it.
16:36I want you to have it.
16:37They keep wanting to give me something now, and that's what they have to give.
16:42Hello.
16:43How are you?
16:44How are you?
16:46Hello.
16:47Hello.
16:48Hi.
16:49Did you guys have a good day?
16:51Good day?
16:53Good day?
16:54Good day?
16:54Good day.
16:54Good day.
17:17Can you tell them two things for me?
17:19Tell them Jesus loves them, and they can be anything they want to be when they grow up.
17:23We have a police, doctor, nurse, lawyer, soldier, patient designer, civilian, a lot of things.
17:47Yes, yes.
17:48Yes.
17:49Yes.
17:50Anything you want.
17:51Anything you want.
17:52Pizza.
17:53Yes.
17:54And teachers especially are good.
17:56Yes.
17:57And remember that.
18:00In this episode, we harvested over 600 pounds of wild game meat, enough for every child at that little school to take home a large bag to share with their families.
18:10Seeing their faces, their excitement, their joy, it made something inside me shift.
18:16When I looked into the eyes of those kids, I couldn't help but see my nieces.
18:20The same spark.
18:21The same innocence.
18:22The same need to be loved, protected, and provided for.
18:26In that moment, it hit me.
18:28All children really are the same, no matter where they're born.
18:32And when you feel that truth, you can't help but love them.
18:35You can't help but want to do something.
18:37It felt incredible to give them food and supplies, to watch them light up over soccer balls and candy.
18:43But I also knew something deeper.
18:45That meat would last maybe two or three days.
18:48Then, the hunger would return.
18:50That's when I thought about the words of Jesus.
18:53When he sat beside a well and spoke to a woman who was searching for something more.
18:58He told her, anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again.
19:03But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again.
19:08It becomes a fresh bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.
19:13That verse stayed with me as we handed out Bibles alongside the food.
19:18Because while a meal can satisfy for a day, God's word can nourish a soul for a lifetime.
19:24We came here to feed bodies.
19:26But more importantly, we came to plant seeds.
19:29Seeds of hope, of faith, and of truth.
