00:00US President Donald Trump has warned Hamas it has only a very short window to disarm or face what he calls severe consequences.
00:09Speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida,
00:13Trump says the group must give up its weapons soon, insisting it had already agreed to do so.
00:19Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner will be in charge of that from our side.
00:25But if they don't disarm, as they agreed to do, they agreed to it, then they'll be held to pay for them.
00:35And we don't want that. We're not looking for that.
00:37But they have to disarm within a fairly short period of time.
00:41Trump also said reconstruction in Gaza could begin relatively soon.
00:45The Gaza peace plan came into effect in October.
00:48Its second phase calls for a technocratic government, Hamas to disarm and Israeli troops to withdraw, paving the way for rebuilding.
00:56But critics say Netanyahu may try to delay that process, pressing for Hamas to disarm before Israeli forces pull out.
01:05During the press briefing, Trump also warned that the US would launch further attacks on Iran if it was found to be using different sites to develop nuclear weapons.
01:14The comments come weeks after Trump claimed the U.S. strikes in June had completely destroyed Iran's key nuclear enrichment sites.
01:21But Israeli officials have since voiced concern that Iran could be rebuilding its long-range missile arsenal.
01:28Iran, meanwhile, insists it is no longer enriching uranium and says it remains open to negotiations with the West.
01:34And here is the system.
