Tensions are escalating in the Middle East as U.S. President Donald Trump issues a stark warning to Iran and Hamas during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida. Trump vowed fresh strikes if Tehran attempts to rebuild its nuclear or missile programs — and warned Hamas that there would be “Hell to pay” if it fails to disarm in Gaza as agreed under the fragile ceasefire. Iran has responded with threats of an “immediate harsh response” to any U.S. or Israeli aggression, fueling growing fears of a wider regional conflict.

00:00The President, if people could come in, come on over, fellas.
00:03We had a big meeting with a lot of people, a lot of talent from Israel and from the U.S.
00:11And I think we came to a lot of conclusion, a lot of conclusion and conclusions.
00:18And there's very little difference in what we're looking at and where we want to be,
00:26where we want to go.
00:29And so I just want to thank you for spending time.
00:32I know you're going to be over here for a couple of days, and maybe we'll be surprising
00:37us on New Year's Eve.
00:38That'll be fine.
00:39The President.
00:40Well, thank you.
00:41The President.
00:42And it's wonderful seeing you and Sarah and your whole group.
00:43Very talented group.
00:45We've done very good work together, and it'll continue.
00:48So thank you very much, baby.
00:51Thank you very much.
00:52Thank you, Mr. President.
00:55I have to say that—I have to say that in addition to what I said, that we've never
01:05had a friend—even close a friend—as President Trump in the White House.
01:11I think he's been extraordinary in his friendship and his support for Israel, his principled
01:19positions, his willingness to just cut through and get to the essence of things.
01:26And I don't say that as a compliment.
01:27I just mean it.
01:30People have heard me say that behind your back, Mr. President, many times.
01:34But I want to say something else.
01:35I think we have a partnership, if I can quote you, second to none.
01:41I think it's allowed us to do enormous things.
01:43You know, people said there was a different conception at one time, which means that America
01:49can advance its interests in the Middle East if it opens a lot of daylight between it and
01:53Israel.
01:55And President Trump has done the exact opposite.
01:58He's achieved remarkable things in the Middle East because we work together.
02:03We talk about our ideas.
02:06Sometimes we have different ideas, but we work it out.
02:09And most of the time we see eye to eye.
02:12But it's been a remarkable experience, and this was a very, very productive meeting.
02:16And may I say a very good lunch.
02:20Thank you for your friendship.
02:21Thank you very much.
02:22Thank you for your support.
02:23It's meant from the heart.
02:24The President.
02:26You know, as I said outside, he's been a wartime prime minister.
02:30And we were, well, I guess I could say I was a wartime president in more places than
02:35just Israel, if you think about it.
02:37But Israel was a big factor, and we're with you.
02:41And we'll continue to be with you.
02:43And a lot of good things are happening in the Middle East.
02:46We have peace in the Middle East, and we're going to try and keep it that way.
02:48I think we will be very successful in keeping it that way.
02:53And you've been a great friend.
02:56And I've been a great friend to you and to Israel, and it's been my honor.
03:00And the award that I was given was really surprising and very much appreciated.
03:06Well, President Trump has broken so many conventions to the surprise of people, and then they figure
03:13out, oh, well, maybe, you know, he was right after all.
03:16So we decided to break a convention, too, or create a new one.
03:19And that is to award the Israel Prize, which in almost our 80 years, we've never awarded
03:26it to a non-Israeli.
03:29And we're going to award it this year to President Trump.
03:33This was announced formally over lunch by our Minister of Education, who's responsible
03:40for the Israel Prize.
03:42It's going to be awarded to President Donald J. Trump for his tremendous contributions
03:47to Israel and the Jewish people.
03:51I think there's — it's such a fitting thing.
03:55And it would honor us, obviously, Mr. President, if you could visit Israel in that occasion,
04:01on our Independence Day.
04:02And I have to say that this reflects the overwhelming sentiment of Israelis across the spectrum.
04:12They appreciate what you've done to help Israel and to help our common battle against the terrorists
04:18and those who would destroy our civilization.
04:20So again, that's an expression of thanks and appreciation.
04:25President Trump Thank you, baby, very much.
04:27That really is a great honor.
04:29Any questions, please?
04:30We'll go pretty quickly because, pretty much, we agree on most of the things.
04:35And you would know what most of those things are.
04:37Please, go ahead.
04:38The Press Thank you, Mr. President.
04:39I'd like to know if you and the Prime Minister talked about having Israel pull back its troops
04:45before Hamas fully disarms.
04:48I know that's been an issue.
04:49Did you push for that today?
04:50President Trump Well, we talked about Hamas and we talked about disarmament.
04:54And they're going to be given a very short period of time to disarm.
04:58And we'll see how that works out.
05:00Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will be in charge of that from our side.
05:07But if they don't disarm, as they agreed to do, they agreed to it, then they'll be held
05:14to pay for them.
05:16And we don't want that.
05:18We're not looking for that.
05:19But they have to disarm within a fairly short period of time.
05:22The Press Would Israel withdrawing its forces?
05:24President Trump Well, that's a separate subject.
05:26We'll talk about that.
05:28The Press Mr. President.
05:29President Trump Yes.
05:30The Press Did you have a message for the Prime Minister about the West Bank?
05:33And are you at all concerned that settler violence, Israeli settler violence, could be undermining
05:37the peace plan?
05:38President Trump Well, we have had a discussion, big discussion, for a long time on the West Bank.
05:43I wouldn't say we agree on the West Bank 100 percent, but we will come to a conclusion
05:50on the West Bank.
05:51The Press If I could ask, what is the discipline?
05:52President Trump Well, I don't want to do that.
05:53It'll be announced at an appropriate time.
05:56But he will do the right thing.
05:57I know that.
05:58I know him very well.
05:59He will do the right thing.
06:00Yes?
06:01The Press There is a growing fear of a confrontation between Israel and Turkey.
06:05How are you going to ease this tension, given the fact that Erdogan, President Erdogan,
06:10calls Mr. Netanyahu Hitler and compares Israel to the Nazis?
06:14President Trump Well, I know President Erdogan very well.
06:16And as you all know, he's a very good friend of mine.
06:19And I believe that — and I do respect him, and Bibi respects him.
06:25And they're not going to have a problem.
06:28They're not going to have a problem.
06:29I know him very well.
06:30And you've seen me do things with President Erdogan and Turkey that nobody else could have
06:35done.
06:36We're not going to have a problem.
06:38He's done a fantastic job.
06:40I'm with him all the way.
06:42I'm with Bibi all the way.
06:44Nothing's going to happen.
06:45Yes?
06:46The Press Are you concerned that Israel is not moving quickly enough to phase two of
06:52the peace plan?
06:53President Trump Well, I'm not concerned about anything that Israel is doing.
06:57I'm concerned about what other people are doing or maybe aren't doing.
07:01But I'm not concerned.
07:02They've lived up to the plan.
07:04They're strong.
07:06They're solid.
07:08And sometimes they don't understand when somebody violates something that you want to give
07:12them a second chance.
07:13Well, we'll give them a couple of second chances.
07:15But no, Israel has lived up to the plan 100 percent.
07:20Don't forget, we made the plan possible by taking out Iran.
07:25And speaking of Iran, I hope they're not trying to build up again, because if they are, we're
07:30going to have no choice but very quickly to eradicate that buildup.
07:35So I hope Iran is not trying to build up, as I've been reading, that they're building
07:39up weapons and other things.
07:42And if they are, they're not using the sites that we obliterated, but they're using possibly
07:49different sites.
07:50We know exactly where they're going, what they're doing.
07:53And I hope they're not doing it, because we don't want to waste the fuel on a B-2.
07:58It's a 37-hour trip both ways.
08:01I don't want to waste a lot of fuel.
08:02Okay?
08:03The Press.
08:04The Press.
08:05The Press.
08:06In March regarding the pardon request of Prime Minister Netanyahu, Hertog's office told
08:12us that you have not talked after the official request of Prime Minister Netanyahu, pardon.
08:18Can you clarify to us, did you talk about it?
08:20President Obama's request are you talking about?
08:22With the President, Hertog, the Israeli President, Hertog.
08:25Did you talk with him directly?
08:26President Erdog.
08:27He said.
08:28Hertog, Hertog.
08:29The Israeli President.
08:30The Press.
08:30The Israeli President.
08:31The President.
08:31Oh, so you're talking about pardon?
08:32Yeah.
08:33say that. No, I think he's going to be in great shape. He's a wartime prime minister at the
08:38highest level. He's achieved tremendous success. And I'll say it, you know, if you had eight out
08:46of ten prime ministers in his position right now, or before right now, maybe, you wouldn't have
08:53Israel any longer. Israel would not exist. I'd say two of them would, and eight of them would.
08:59And those are not good odds. You needed a very special man to really carry through and really
09:09help Israel through this horrible jam. You know, these are major factions, and it started with our
09:15negotiation with Iran. I think it probably started with Soleimani. That was really where you mentioned
09:23that today, which started with Soleimani. Bad guy, doing bad things, hurting a lot of people,
09:30killing American soldiers and other soldiers. But it started right there would probably be the
09:36starting point. And then from that point forward, but you would, you have a wartime prime minister
09:42at the highest level. There could be other wartime prime ministers, but they'd lose.
09:47He won. And I think the people of Israel appreciate it. I think a lot of the people
09:53in the world appreciate it, actually. And because of that victory, we were able to get peace in the
09:57Middle East. If you had a different kind of a personality, if you had a weak person or a stupid
10:04person, and there are plenty of both of them, you would not have had success. And you might not have
10:09Israel. And you report for Israel. I know you're very proud of it, and you do a great job.
10:13You might not have a job because there might not be an Israel right now if you had a different
10:17prime minister. That's a big statement. But to me, it's a very simple statement to make. I'm looking
10:23at Pete Hegseth, and he's sort of nodding. If they don't have a strong prime minister, Pete,
10:28you might not have Israel today. I think he'll go down in the record books. And, you know,
10:33I was a big help. I'll be honest with you. Big, big help. Somebody said in the room,
10:39if you don't have Trump, you needed a proper combination of everything. And if you didn't
10:45have that combination, which they had, you would not have an existing Israel right now.
10:51And the people of Israel know it. That's why they like me. And it's why they really,
10:55they actually like him. He's got a little bit of a love-hate more than I do over there.
11:00But you know what? Even the haters have a lot of respect for him. There's a lot of jealousy
11:04about him. A lot of jealousy. Jealousy is a bad word. But I believe you would not have Israel
11:11right now. So it's a big deal. Yeah, please. President, a recent poll showed that as many
11:16as half of Gazans would be willing to leave the Gaza Strip if afforded the opportunity to do so.
11:22Back in February, you said that all Gazans could leave the Gaza Strip. I heard that number today,
11:25half of Gaza would leave. I've always said it. I said if they were given the opportunity to live in
11:31a better climate, they would move. They're there because they sort of have to be. I think it would
11:37be, I think it would be a great opportunity. But let's see if that opportunity presents itself. But
11:42we're helping the people of Gaza a lot. So is Israel, by the way. So we'll see what happens. But I saw
11:50that it was a poll. It was actually more than half the people would leave if they were given the
11:54opportunity. And I've been saying that for a long time. It was, to me, it was common sense. So it's
11:59interesting. Why wouldn't countries accept that? Look, let's not talk about it because
12:04we don't want the controversy. Right now, we're helping Gaza. But if they were given the opportunity,
12:11I think even higher than that, the person, the group that did the poll is usually, I call them
12:18negative pulses. You have a lot of them. And yet this poll was, I think, very accurate other than
12:23it would be more than half the people if given the opportunity. But they haven't been given that
12:28opportunity. So we'll see what happens.
12:30The Pressure point of understanding regarding Syria.
12:36We do have an understanding regarding Syria. Now, with Syria, you know, your new president,
12:43I respect him. He's a very strong guy. And that's what you need in Syria. You can't put
12:48a choir boy. You can't put a, you know, somebody that's a perfect person. Everything's nice.
12:55No problems in life. You have the opposite there. He's a strong guy. We get along with
13:01him great. I can't ask for any more. He's been with us all the way. We had that mishap
13:07with ISIS, and he was with us all the way. He was fighting us. You know, he was fighting
13:11them. So I hope Israel, I'm sure that Israel and him will get along. I will try and make
13:18it so that they do get along. I think they will. Bibi, do you have anything to say about
13:22that?
13:23Yeah, well, our interest is to have a peaceful border with Syria. Our interest is to have,
13:32and we openly say it, we want to make sure that the border area right next to our border
13:39is safe. We don't have terrorists. We don't have attacks. And we also want to secure our
13:46Druze friends. And by the way, I think not only the Druze, but other minorities, especially
13:51the Christians, should be protected as well in Syria and throughout the Middle East and
13:56in Nigeria. In your efforts, we back completely because Christian communities are beleaguered
14:02around the world and especially in the Middle East, but in parts of Africa too. And we stand
14:08for the same thing.
14:08And don't forget, it was President Erdogan that helped very much get rid of a very bad ruler
14:16of Syria. That was President Erdogan. And he never wanted the credit for it, but he really
14:22gets a lot of credit. Bibi agrees with that. I agree with it. I mean, I know it. And President
14:28Erdogan should get a lot of good credit for what he did. He got rid of some very bad people.
14:33And, you know, they've been wanting to do that for a thousand years with different names,
14:37but for a thousand years in Syria. President Erdogan did it. And we give him a lot of credit.
14:43I give him a lot of credit. But I think it's going to work out well
14:47between Syria and Israel.
14:51The Presser, Mr. President, about Lebanon.
14:53Yeah, go ahead, please.
14:54The Lebanese government, what we saw, is not meeting the terms
14:59of the ceasefire agreement, has failed to disarm
15:02Hezbollah, actually. In your view, should Israel strike the
15:06tourist organization again?
15:08Well, we're going to see about that. We'll see about it.
15:10The Lebanese government is at a little bit of a disadvantage,
15:15if you think of it, with Hezbollah. But Hezbollah has been behaving badly.
15:20So we'll see what happens.
15:22Mr. President, how close are we to another operation of Israel in Iran?
15:27You said before the meeting with Netanyahu that you're in support of Israel
15:30if the ballistic missile project will take on, and also the nuclear weapon.
15:34But after the meeting, after what you know from the intelligence, how close are we
15:39to another war with Iran?
15:40Well, I don't want to say that, but Iran may be behaving badly.
15:46It hasn't been confirmed. But if it's confirmed, look, they know the consequences.
15:51You know, consequences will be very powerful.
15:55Maybe more powerful than the last time. Yeah.
15:57And Iran should have made a deal the last time. I gave them the option.
16:03I said, you can make a deal. Do it. I told them, do it.
16:07And they didn't believe me. Now they believe me.
16:10Is it the only option that Iran is behaving badly? And what do you mean by that?
16:14This is just what we hear. But usually, where there's smoke, there's fire.
16:20Have you heard the expression?
16:22But what do you mean related to the nuclear capability?
16:24Well, no, I'm hearing that they're not nuclear yet, but maybe nuclear, too.
16:28The sites were obliterated, but they're looking at other sites. That's what I've heard.
16:32They're looking. So it'll take a long time.
16:35They're not going to go back to where they were, but they have other places they can go.
16:40And if they're doing that, they're making a big mistake. Yeah, please.
16:43There's no reason for them to do it.
16:44Mr. President, is the United States currently open to engaging in bilateral discussions with Tehran?
16:53We're hearing reports from numerous countries that there may be some discussions.
16:57Is that something you would support or something that is happening?
16:59Yeah, I would. Sure.
17:00You would support that?
17:01I would, yes.
17:01Right now.
17:02Thank you, sir.
17:02I have been, by the way, before the war, I would support that.
17:05I said to them, baby, I said, let's negotiate.
17:09And they didn't believe what was going to happen would happen.
17:13Yes, ma'am.
17:14On China, so China has been doing naval exercises, basically, to test encircling Taiwan.
17:19Can you explain to us what your knowledge is of that?
17:23What do you think about that?
17:24Have you had any discussions with China about that?
17:26Well, I have a great relationship with President Xi, and he hasn't told me anything about it.
17:31I certainly have seen it, but he hasn't told me anything about it.
17:35And I don't believe he's going to be doing it.
17:39Does it worry you?
17:40No, nothing worries me.
17:42Nothing.
17:42But you said where there's smoke, there's fire, right?
17:44So if you're encircling, if you're doing naval exercises and air exercises...
17:48Well, they've been doing naval exercises for 20 years in that area.
17:54Now people take it a little bit differently, but, in fact, larger than they're doing right now.
17:59So we'll see.
18:00But they've been doing that for 20, 25 years.
18:03Yeah.
18:03Mr. President, if you don't see Hamas...
18:05...disarm in that short amount of time they're giving them, can you tell us what the next steps would be?
18:09It'll be horrible for them.
18:14Horrible.
18:15It's going to be really, really bad for them.
18:19And I don't want that to happen.
18:21But they made an agreement that they were going to disarm.
18:24And you couldn't blame Israel.
18:26By the way, we have other countries that will come in and do it.
18:29They said, let us do it for you if they don't.
18:31And countries that were with them wanted the deal to be made, agreed that they would disarm.
18:38And now, if they say they're going to disarm, that's fine.
18:41If they say they're not going to disarm, those same countries will go and wipe them out.
18:47They don't even need Israel.
18:48You know, we have many countries, 59 countries that are integrated.
18:53This is a real peace in the Middle East.
18:56And Hamas is a small part of it, but it's still a part of it.
19:00But we have 59 countries that signed on, big countries.
19:03Countries that are outside of the Middle East, as you know the Middle East.
19:09They want to go in and wipe out Hamas.
19:14They don't want Israel.
19:15They don't need Israel.
19:17They want to do it because it's the right thing to do.
19:18Because they were for the deal, based on the fact that Hamas pledged, they swore, that they were going to disarm.
19:26Now, if they're not going to disarm, those same countries will wipe out Hamas.
19:31President Trump, do you think that the PA should be involved in the day after, in Gaza Strip, even in the near future?
19:38And the same question to Prime Minister Netanyahu.
19:40Do you see a real opportunity that the PA will be in Gaza?
19:43Go ahead, Mimi.
19:44I think President Trump put clearly the conditions of reform that he wants to see in the PA for them to be involved.
19:52And I think he put it very clearly, what he wants to see.
19:54The kind of real reforms, not just perfunctory reforms, but real reforms.
20:00Stop, pay to slay, change the curriculum in your textbooks, open up a different society and a different future.
20:07If they do it, well, you know, let them, you know, I think it was clear.
20:13He put guidelines that were, by the way, in the Trump plan of 2020.
20:20And they were put then in the 20 points.
20:23And it's up to them.
20:25Remember this.
20:26If we didn't do what we did to Iran, just to make the subject just slightly different, you wouldn't have peace in the Middle East.
20:34You wouldn't have a deal signed in the Middle East.
20:36You wouldn't have a deal.
20:38Because other Arab nations, which are great, great, great people.
20:43I know them very well.
20:43I know them.
20:44They're great people.
20:45They wouldn't be able to have agreed to peace in the Middle East because you would have had a dark cloud hanging over everything.
20:52It wouldn't have been possible.
20:54So Iran has been greatly reduced in power, prestige.
21:02I don't want to use the word humiliation because, you know, they're trying to build up again.
21:06But we can't let them build up because if they build up, they can't be peace in the Middle East.
21:11It was a mistake, you know, when they wiped out Iraq.
21:14Iraq and Iran were about the same power.
21:16And they fought each other with different names for a thousand years.
21:20And then our country came out and blew up one of those two countries, namely Iraq.
21:28And all of a sudden, Iran had the whole Middle East all to itself.
21:32But that's not true anymore.
21:34That's not true anymore.
21:35Can you tell us something about your plan to expand the Abram Accords?
21:41If you can tell us something about your plan to expand the Abram Accords?
21:48Well, the Abram Accords are great.
21:50It was a great achievement of Jared and everybody.
21:54I mean, it was one of the great achievements.
21:57They'll be expanded.
22:00Countries are already talking about expanding it.
22:03And they'll be expanded fairly quickly.
22:05Yeah, please.
22:05What about Saudi Arabia?
22:06Is it still on the table?
22:08The normalization?
22:08Saudi Arabia is great.
22:09We have a great leader and a friend of mine and a friend of a lot of people.
22:17Also an enemy of some people.
22:20But those people aren't doing so well.
22:22You know, Saudi Arabia has been very good, as far as I'm concerned.
22:26They've done everything that we can ask for.
22:29But normalization with Israel is on the...
22:31They're getting along great with Israel.
22:33They will.
22:33And at some point, they'll sign the Abram Accords.
22:37Mr. President, we know...
22:39So one of the big domestic tasks ahead of you is to pick a new chairman for the Fed.
22:44Yeah.
22:44You've said that you have one favorite, but you're also doing interviews.
22:49I do. Still do.
22:49Hasn't changed.
22:51Yeah, I'll announce him at the right time.
22:52There's plenty of time.
22:53Are you...
22:54Is there any chance...
22:54The first time, we're doing numbers that nobody's ever seen.
22:56We have $18 trillion coming in.
22:58We had a 4.3% GDP.
23:01They thought it was going to be 2%.
23:02And that's despite the Democrat shutdown.
23:05Had the shutdown not occurred, we would have had an extra point and a quarter.
23:10Think of that.
23:12We are doing...
23:14And also, despite the fact that we have a fool at the Federal Reserve.
23:19I mean, Biden reappointed him.
23:21It's too bad.
23:21You would have thought he wouldn't have done that.
23:24But he's an absolute fool who's building a new Federal Reserve or he's doing a renovation
23:30of a building.
23:32Maybe he's up to $4.1 billion to do a renovation of a few very small buildings.
23:39It's the highest price in the history of construction.
23:42He's spending more money than any building has ever spent per square foot on the renovation
23:49of...
23:50As an example, I'm doing a magnificent, big, beautiful ballroom that the country has wanted,
23:57the White House has wanted for 150 years.
24:01It's a massive job and it's a tiny fraction of that number.
24:05And we're under budget and ahead of schedule.
24:07Now, it's bigger than I told you.
24:09It's, you know, after realizing we're going to do the inauguration in that building,
24:15it's got all bulletproof glass.
24:17It's got all drone...
24:19They call it drone-free roof.
24:22The drones won't touch it.
24:24It's a big, beautiful, safe building.
24:27But it's, you know, it's a big project for a tiny fraction of that were under budget and
24:34ahead of schedule.
24:35And they've wanted it for 150 years.
24:38Think of it, the Federal Reserve building, two buildings there, they don't know what they're
24:43doing.
24:44They're, they're way over budget.
24:47It, I mean, almost, this was built during the Biden administration and I wrote by it the
24:54other day and it's headed by the head of the Federal Reserve.
24:58Too late, you know, too late, Powell.
25:00Too late because he's always too late with interest rates, except before the election,
25:04he was too early because that would have helped, that was supposed to help get her elected.
25:09It had no impact.
25:10We want all seven swing states, but, but, no, no, we're thinking about bringing a suit
25:16against Powell for incompetence because think of it, these are two, these aren't outstanding
25:21buildings, these are small buildings.
25:23He's at four billion more.
25:25It's going to end up costing more than four billion dollars, four billion.
25:28It's the highest price of construction.
25:32Again, Democrats, highest price of construction per square foot in the history of the world.
25:38There's never been, gorgeous monuments are built for a much smaller price.
25:44So we're thinking about bringing a, a gross incompetence, what's called gross incompetence
25:50lawsuit.
25:50It's gross incompetence against Powell and it was his baby and the guy's just incompetent.
25:59There is nothing you can do about it.
26:01He's just a very incompetent man, but we're going to probably bring a lawsuit against him.
26:05Thank you all very much.
26:07I appreciate it.
26:07Mr. Beebe, congratulations.
26:08Thank you very much.
26:09Mr. President, when do you expect the announcement then on Powell's replacement?
26:14Uh, January, sometime?
26:17And will you ask Jay Powell to resign?
26:20Well, he should resign.
26:20Entirely?
26:21He'll be a favor to the nation, but he's come close.
26:24I mean, we're getting pretty close.
26:26I would fire him.
26:28I would, I'd love to fire him, but we're so close, you know, maybe it, but maybe I still
26:33might.
26:34Are you going to sell F-35 to the Turkey?
26:36Are you going to approve a selling of F-35 to the Turkey?
26:40The Turkish, we're thinking about it very serious.
