00:00Thomas, it felt like a really big victory today. Do you feel like your side deserved it?
00:05I think, you know, I think it was an even game in many ways. I think we had three key actions in
00:23the game where it's like this between being on side two of them and be inside of the post and
00:29goal. So I think if you're that close three times a goal, it's not bad, then you'll have
00:33scored four. That's a way to look at it. I really like the desire be details mentality
00:45in the team and the character and the resilience of the team is something I said and spoke about
00:51a lot that is so important that we have that resilience in a team because in a long Premier
00:57League season, you know, you need to go to a very difficult away ground here and fight
01:03as low character, get a clean sheet, win 1-0. I think that was a massive win in many ways.
01:11Was it a top performance? No. Is it things we can improve? Yes. But to go here with the
01:20season where it's been a little bit up and down, I think it's a huge mentality shift from
01:25the players. Not shift, they've showed it, but you know, the effort, mentality effort,
01:31I would say. And I think we played extremely disciplined throughout the game. For example,
01:38one of Panthers' major strengths is the transitions and we really closed them down. So it's something
01:44we've worked very, very hard on. A big discipline in the team and we need to do that.
02:01Yeah, definitely. I think Archie is growing. I think he, show-wise, got a very, very good
02:08potential in many ways. He, I think, is another fine performance overall today. I think, talking
02:15about resilience, made the mistake in the Nottingham game, played another good game
02:20against Liverpool, growing as a young man. And you can just see he was alert. I love that
02:26goal because he's alert. He's seeing where the ball will land and he's ready on it.
02:30Yeah, I think so. I think he, he shows a lot of quality. He covered the ground so well.
02:43I think he's excellent in the pressing game. He, the defensive transition, brilliant to close
02:49it down. And then I think he's, he's, he's good on the ball, but of course, it's a game
02:54where we are not, not, not top in that area. He didn't show enough of his qualities there.
02:59Yeah, I, I hope so. Um, of course, we'll assist him tomorrow. Sam, please.
03:09You talked about not a great performance, but a really important move. Have people got
03:16to accept that the team who's struggling is going to have to play like that away from home
03:20sometimes? And maybe even when you go back to Liverpool on Thursday, that's the kind of
03:25counter attack. I think every game is, is different. Um, as far as I know that the Newcastle game
03:40was even, the Brentford home game, we were way on top, Liverpool even until we got the
03:46red card. There's been many other games. I just think for any team, uh, is also the expectation,
03:53where are we right now? Um, and I think that resilience and mentality to show that and win
04:01one nil is hugely important, uh, you know, on a, on a day where maybe it's not free floating
04:05everything. It's fair to say we, we like a few offensive players and including Xavi, uh,
04:11today and, and our captain and then coming, come to come to Crystal Palace. I, I, by the way,
04:16saw the Crystal Palace Liverpool game, uh, they, Liverpool should have been down two or three
04:21nil at halftime. So it's a difficult place to go and go here to win the way we did. Very
04:26impressive. Jack. Hi Thomas. Um, you guys have got the best away record in the Premier League
04:31so far this season. What do you put that down to? And do you feel like you have a template
04:36or a method for winning these away games? Yeah, but I think, um, I think the players really
04:46understood what time of game we were facing today. I think the, the discipline and what I say,
04:50the rest defending, not giving stupid, uh, counter-attacks away, you know, trying to come
04:54here and just completely dominating when we are, where we are, where we are, where we are not
04:58at the top where we want to be in terms of performance lives, which we're working on,
05:02uh, and then put the, the, the effort and the character and defending side of the game
05:07into it. That gave us a one nil win, uh, today. Uh, there have been other very good away wins
05:11where we've been more, more dominant. Um, but to do that, I think it's a huge quality. Um,
05:18then when we get the home form, uh, even better, it'll be very good. Tom, please.
05:25Hi Thomas. Um, you say it's a massive win. It also keeps you within touching distance of the
05:31top five, at least four points. Um, given that the first half of the season has been
05:36a bit of a transition up and down performances, you'd hope to be more consistent in the second
05:40half of the season. Does it feel like reaching the Champions League is still an achievable
05:43goal this season for Tottenham? Yeah, I think, I think, uh, how can you say it? Uh, there's,
05:52the consistency in this performance as before the game, I said we had four out of five good
05:56performances, uh, including the Liverpool one in many ways. Um, this is another one in terms of
06:02consistent working hard. Not everything was perfect, but it's a good step in the right decision,
06:06right, right direction. Um, so that's what we need to keep working on and then get a little bit
06:13more in form of the offensive players and then step by step. And just secondly, we saw Fabio
06:19Poratici sitting next to Vinay up in the stands today. Obviously it's been speculation of his
06:23future, but it looked like he was, you know, if he's here at the game, it doesn't look like
06:28he's going anywhere soon. Can you give us an update on what we can expect from him? Um,
06:33I didn't know that Vinay and Fabio was here today, but I expected them, them to be. Uh, as I said,
06:41the whole time, there's a lot of rumors with, with a lot of things, um, players, staff members,
06:46directors, whatever it is, I in reality don't comment on them. So George behind you, please.
06:55Hi, Thomas. Um, just sticking with transfers, there's been a lot of speculation about Brennan
06:59Johnson and Crystal Palace. Actually, he didn't get many minutes today, but he did come on.
07:04Are you sort of keen to keep him in January? Yeah, I think we, I think Brennan is,
07:11it's very important for us. Maybe he didn't get many minutes, but, uh, we unfortunately
07:14can only play 11 players. Uh, we spoke about it before with, with Mo, he's coming in and,
07:19and put his stamp on that, uh, say right winger, uh, position than the left. We tried different
07:25solutions, uh, still started quite a few games. Um, I think Brennan is important, uh, important
07:31player for us. And just in terms of this result, it felt like the team has had kind of moments,
07:36you know, the Brentford win and Copenhagen where it's been a springboard and then it's
07:39been a step backwards. Do you really feel like this is kind of the period now to build momentum
07:44and get those consistent results that have been lacking over the last few months?
07:47Yeah, I think the most important thing is we get consistent performances. Um, if you get
07:51that, then, then you never know today as a start of the press conference with, you know,
07:55like this, and then we score three more goals. Uh, that's, that can go one way or another
07:58way. So we get consistent performances where we defend like we did today and then show more
08:05calmness and a little bit more coolness on the ball today, which we didn't, I think. I
08:09also think you can see second half, we're probably not a free flowing, uh, confident team, but
08:14we're growing.
08:15Final one on the far side, if you can pass the microphone across, please.
08:22Hi, Thomas. Um, you scored your ninth set piece goal today. Um, I think that's the fifth
08:28most in the league. Could you just talk about how important that is to be able to lean on
08:32that quality, especially in tough matches like this, uh, especially like you said, when
08:37you haven't got the goals because of tight offside calls, how important is it that you
08:41can get an edge somewhere from some, something like set pieces?
08:44Yeah, we, we need to, um, every team need to find an edge. Um, set pieces is, is one, one
08:51area that's hugely important. Uh, so the Chelsea Villa game yesterday, two, two out of three
08:58goals, set pieces. Um, so, so hugely important that we keep working on that and very happy
09:03with the approach that players have to it. They, they really bought into it and understand
09:06the importance of it.
09:08Um, I remember last season, Arnest Slott mentioned that usually a mark of a manager who's at a
09:12club for a long time is that they get their possession principles in and then defensive.
09:16And then at the end, you see the set pieces. Have you sort of approached it the other way
09:20around to get the set pieces in first or because of how important they are?
09:24I think that the set piece was a low hanging fruit, um, which we have improved, uh, compared
09:30to last season. Um, so I think it needs to be all three areas. I can't see why it can't
09:35be as three areas at the same time. Then, then sometimes you, uh, how, whatever you can say,
09:41the set piece improve a lot or the offensive improve a lot of defense depending on where,
09:46where you are. But I think every, every, all three areas are very important.
09:50Okay. Thank you. Same guys.
