00:01What was your team missing today?
00:04I think we clearly didn't perform well today.
00:09I think we played against a very good Bournemouth team
00:13that we know can make it difficult for any team in the league.
00:19They played to their strength, they did that very well.
00:22We didn't handle it well.
00:24We knew exactly what they came with and we trained for it,
00:28maybe Justin Hadley well enough in terms of the balls behind,
00:31the second ball game and the jewels in the middle of the park.
00:34I think that's the defensive side.
00:37On the offensive side, we struggled to find a good enough solution
00:42to get through phase one and two so we could get up there
00:50and put a bit of pressure on them.
00:52We only did that in the last 15 where we put good pressure
00:56and we could have equalised but I think over the game
00:59it was fair that Bournemouth won.
01:02It felt like that lack of creativity until those final minutes.
01:05I mean obviously that will be partly addressed by Xavi Simmonds coming in.
01:08Is that something you'd like to try and address in the last couple of days
01:10of the window as well?
01:12I think it's fair to say that we also didn't defend as well as we should do
01:17and we have done in the first three games.
01:19So that I'm quite confident when we come back to defend well again.
01:26But that could have held massively.
01:29Of course, I would say the creativity, yes.
01:32That's something I think that's also why we signed Simmonds,
01:35of course, to have an extra offensive player.
01:38But I also think on the day, with all due respect to our front four players,
01:42none of them hit a high level.
01:44And that happens sometimes, you know, very well.
01:47I don't want to say it's okay, but it's natural.
01:51Very quickly, any concerns with Dominic Slanke's ankle?
01:53Is it saying he should be back after the international break?
01:55I'm hopeful that he will be back after the international break.
01:59Hi, Thomas. Just adding on Slanke, does that mean or could it mean
02:06that you look for a striker in the final days?
02:08You didn't have a natural striker to bring on today when you were a goal down?
02:13No, but I will not say that particularly.
02:16You know, I think to have three strikers in a window, in a squad,
02:23can also cause a problem.
02:24They can only play one at a time.
02:26So there's a fine balance.
02:28I'm not saying we will never go for another striker another time,
02:31but I think I'm happy with Dom and Richie.
02:34The fans booed at half-time and at full-time.
02:39Could you understand that?
02:40Are you comfortable with that?
02:42I prefer them not to boo, but I understand it was not a good performance today
02:47and they have high expectations, which is absolutely fair.
02:51And I think, let's say, we performed even better
02:55and you can still lose a football match today.
02:57I don't think we hit the level we should.
02:59I think the players gave everything and that's the foundation
03:02and put their heart out there.
03:04But football-wise, we didn't hit a top level today.
03:07Hi Thomas, I'm sure you knew that Spurs were far from the finish dark,
03:11but obviously some fans after last weekend at Man City would have been excited.
03:15Does today just show that there is work to do to make this squad the level that you want it to be?
03:20Yeah, but it's not about only making the squad the level.
03:23It's also for us to not manage but play different games.
03:29It's one game against City, one kind of football, different kind of football against Burnley.
03:34Bournemouth completes the third kind of football and all kind of football you need to be able to perform against.
03:41And today we're struggling with it.
03:44Just for Javi Simmonds, how excited are you to sign him?
03:47And where do you see him fitting into this squad?
03:49Obviously he's a very versatile player.
03:51Yeah, I'm very excited, very happy that we signed him.
03:54I think it was a great signing from the club.
03:57He can play 10-lingly left winger as the two main positions.
04:02Hi Thomas.
04:03Just on Dom's injury, is there any reason why it sort of resurfaced?
04:07Why is what?
04:09Because it's related to the ankle injury he had in pre-season, right?
04:12Yes, yes.
04:13He came back, now he's injured again.
04:14Yeah, sometimes it's just taking a little bit longer time.
04:17It's easier, it's not like he re-injured it again.
04:21You can say if you have a muscle injury then you can maybe re-injure.
04:24It's nothing to do with that.
04:25It's just not progressing as quick as we hoped for.
04:28But we are still positive about that it can be solved in the next two weeks.
04:34Obviously lost today, but how do you reflect on your first three league games in charge of Spurs?
04:38Have you got any plans for the international break?
04:41I think two good performances and one bad.
04:47So I would like to avoid bad performances.
04:56I think the lower level was too low today.
05:00So that's what we need to raise.
05:04I think, again, work ethic and character in the team was good,
05:08but I think we lacked some football bits.
05:12Final one please, Tom.
05:14It's a slightly obvious question,
05:15but when you've got a game like that where you're struggling to break them down,
05:18what can Xavi bring with his skill set?
05:20I think he can bring on a day where I can say our structure building up and all that,
05:27because it's not only about that,
05:29then sometimes you need a player that can do something a little bit out of nothing,
05:32go past the player, produce a cross, a short path,
05:36with that extra quality that you need on a day,
05:38and that's what I think he can bring.
05:41Thank you, guys.
