00:00Well today we were weighing our newest addition in the primate department. It's Fadi. She is
00:14our newest Ai Ai, which is a really cool species, extremely rare. And we were weighing her because
00:19it's something we do very frequently when they're young, just to make sure that they're healthy and
00:24growing properly. She's maintained really good weight gain. She started at 104 grams on September
00:51Faith when she was born, and today she's up to 256 grams. So we're really happy with that.
01:04Fadi is the first Ai Ai baby ever born at the San Diego Zoo, and actually her parents, Stix,
01:09and Narina are the first adult Aiis to ever be here at the zoo. So we're really happy to
01:14have them. Mom came out of the nest box looking for her little baby, but everybody stayed really
01:27calm. We got good weights, and then just gently put the baby back in with mom in the nest box,
01:33and everybody went back to sleep. I think Ai Ai are adorable. They do take a little bit of warming
01:43up to, but they have great personalities, big bright eyes that you can look into and really
01:48wonder what kind of what they're thinking. So they're so ugly, they're cute. And anyone
01:54who takes too much time to look at them will figure that out.
