The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court's order suspending the life sentence of Unnao rape convict Kuldeep Singh Sengar. The agency termed the High Court's order 'contrary to law' and 'perverse', arguing that Sengar was a public servant at the time of the offence. Speaking to India Today, the Unnao Rape Survivor expressed her anguish, stating, 'He is a rapist and not a leader.' She added that if the CBI had acted earlier, her life would have been safer. The survivor affirmed her faith in the judiciary, saying she would stand before the judge to share her pain. The report also highlights political reactions, with opposition voices criticizing the BJP's alleged support for Sengar.
