00:00There's big changes coming to MLS.

00:02We're going to have a whole new system of competition, at least for one tournament.

00:06Rumor has it that we're going to experience a very soccer, basketball, American football style of competition

00:13where we're going to group the teams in divisions.

00:17That's right.

00:18We're going to divide the teams in four divisions of six teams each, approximately northern teams with northern teams,

00:25California teams, minus San Jose with California and Dallas and some of the Texan western states.

00:33The same thing with the East Coast.

00:35Is this something that benefits some of the teams?

00:37I believe that it benefits some of the teams.

00:39San Jose, by being put with the northern states, have a great chance because here is Galaxy, is San Diego, is LAFC.

00:47The three top teams are already set in the favorites.

00:52Now, Alex, do you think this is something that benefits Miami now that they're champions

00:59and they are maybe the first ones to win it back-to-back?

01:02I honestly think, yeah.

01:04It's definitely going to benefit them because if you look at the teams in the southern, eastern hemisphere,

01:09I mean, you don't really have that much competition.

01:12Being realistic, I mean, you've got to be, yes, you have teams that are going to...

01:17Orlando, Atlanta.

01:18Yeah, but Orlando, when it comes to Miami, it's like, it's always back and forth.

01:22Orlando has beaten Miami more times than Miami has beaten Orlando and has beaten them badly.

01:27But other than that, like, who do you really have?

01:29Like, I mean, the main teams that I would really be scared of are LAFC, San Diego, maybe even a Vancouver,

01:36but Vancouver's all the way up north.

01:38Cincinnati.

01:39Cincinnati, but, like, all these teams are not going to be in that division anymore,

01:42and I think it's just going to open the doors for Miami even more.

01:45I think that LAFC is going to have a harder time in their group because the...

01:52No, but I'm saying that in the sense of, like, the competition's more even in that division, for sure.

02:04I know this might be an emergency situation for a shortened season because of the World Cup.

02:09Is this something that is attracting new audiences to the game,

02:13or is it something that might alienate the hardcore soccer fan?

02:18Well, listen, they say there's no such thing as bad press, right?

02:21Anything to get more eyes on the MLS I think is going to be good.

02:24And if you're a true fan of your team, nothing is going to make you be like,

02:28oh, I'm not going to watch anymore because the MLS changed the formatting.

02:32So I think this is actually going to attract more people because, hey,

02:34it's something new, it's something different, it's an attention grabber,

02:37and, I mean, yeah, I think that it'll do its job of getting more eyes onto the game.

02:41Now, Nick, what's happening with Galaxy?

02:44What's happening, like, now?

02:46Like, you know, like in the future.

02:47Do you think that they have a chance competing against LAFC, San Diego, Dallas?

02:56As things stand now, we are much worse than all of those teams,

03:00and so my first answer is no.

03:02But I haven't seen Puig back in Puig's old form as he once was before injury.

03:08I don't know what's going to happen with Galaxy in regards to transfers

03:12and new players coming on because we do need help in the back in defense.

03:16And so there's a lot of work that needs to be done,

03:19and a lot's going to have to happen between now and then.

03:21But right now, as a Galaxy fan, and I can speak probably for most of them,

03:25hopes are not high.

03:26We're running on nostalgia.

03:28We're running on the past.

03:29We're hoping to catch up to that.

03:30But in terms of what's going on right now with the squad, no pressure.

03:34It's like, okay, that was a wash of a season.

03:36It's time to rebuild now, and it's all hopes.

03:38And I am hopeful, but when you ask me specifics of it,

03:42it's like, it can go anyway.

03:43Who knows?

03:44There's so many unanswered questions.

03:46What's we going to look like?

03:47What if he massively underperforms?
