00:16Judge Colin Lawrence Sequeira finds him guilty on four counts of abuse of power and 21 charges of money laundering.
00:23Now, in his verdict, Colin said the contention by the accused that the charges against Najib were a witch hunt and politically motivated
00:32were debunked by the cold, hard and incontrovertible evidence against him.
00:38He added that the evidence had revealed Najib had an unmistakable bond and connection with Jolo,
00:44who acted as the then Prime Minister's proxy and intermediary in 1MDB affairs.
00:49Najib has been in prison since August 2022 when Malaysia's top court upheld a verdict
00:56convicting him of corruption for illegally receiving funds from a 1MDB unit.
01:02His 12-year jail sentence in that case was halved last year by a pardon's board.
