In this news bulletin, the focus is on the intensifying political drama in Karnataka as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah heads to New Delhi. He is set to attend a crucial Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting scheduled for tomorrow, December 27. While Siddaramaiah has received an official invite, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has not, fueling speculation about a potential power tussle within the state unit. Reports indicate that DK Shivakumar has been camping in the national capital and has met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, though he has yet to meet the Gandhis. When asked about his visit, Siddaramaiah confirmed, 'Yes, I am going.' The programme also highlights that a final decision regarding the Karnataka leadership is expected in the first week of January. Reporters Nagarjun Dwarakanath and Rahul Gautam provide updates on the unfolding situation.

00:00Okay, over to Karnataka, where yes, the drama over Chief Minister continues over whether Sidramaya will continue or D.K. Shruvkumar will take over.
00:09D.K. Shruvkumar has been camping in the national capital in Delhi for the last few days.
00:14And now Chief Minister Sidramaya is also set to leave for Delhi shortly to attend a key meeting of the Congress Working Committee.
00:21That's tomorrow.
00:22Now, Chief Minister Sidramaya has gotten an invite for the CWC from Congress, which is why he's going to be here.
00:28But at the same time, D.K. Shruvkumar did not get an invite.
00:31This has led to increased speculation of the Congress High Command, perhaps favouring Sidramaya.
00:37D.K. Shruvkumar did get a meeting with the Congress President Malikar Junkarge at his residence in the national capital.
00:43But there's been no meeting yet with the Gandhis.

01:58Nagarjan Dwarkarnath is joining us live from Bengaluru.
02:00We also have Rahul Gautam getting us all the latest political action from Delhi.
02:04Nagarjan, to you first on what's really on the agenda for Sidra Maya.
02:08You know, he's going to be here tomorrow for the CWC, yes.
02:11But beyond that, is there going to be any meeting with the Gandhis?
02:14A discussion perhaps on Karnataka and what's happening?
02:17At this point of time, no official communication has come in on a separate meeting
02:20between the Gandhis and Chief Minister Sidra Maya.
02:22But of course, this conversation will definitely be on the cards,
02:25is what we are told.
02:26Till last evening, he had not got a confirmation of the invite
02:29that he would attend the meeting.
02:31And finally, the call has come.
02:33And he would be part of the extended CWC that is happening.
02:35So, Sidra Maya is playing it down,
02:38saying that it's just a routine meeting that I'm attending
02:40and I think pertaining to the power tussle.
02:42While sources within the DK Shukumar camp are saying that
02:45this is a big meeting because Karge and DK Shukumar bet recently
02:49and now Sidra Maya is going to Delhi.
02:51In that pretext, there might be an off-record informal conversation
02:54with Sidra Maya as to what is happening in Karnataka
02:56and then official call might come in the Jan 1st week.
03:00Official call in the 1st week of January.
03:02But you never know really with Karnataka politics,
03:05that call has been pending for at least one and a half months now.
03:08But let me bring in Rahul Gautam for more details.
03:10Rahul, how do we read into the fact that you've got DK Shukumar
03:14camping in Delhi for the last many days,
03:16no meeting with the Gandhis whatsoever.
03:18The CWC is tomorrow in which Sidra Maya will be there,
03:21but DK Shukumar isn't.
03:27Well, not just Sidra Maya.
03:28All the three chief ministers of Congress party have been invited.
03:32So that means Revan Turetti,
03:34Stupinder Singh Suggu and Mr. Sidra Maya will be in the national capital.
03:38He'll be landing around 9.30 p.m.
03:40And we've been informed that all the three deputy chief ministers,
03:44namely DK Shukumar, Mr. Bhatti from Telangana
03:49and Mr. Agni Hoturi from Humachar Patajish,
03:52all three have not been invited.
03:53But I would definitely second what Nagarjuna said,
03:59that the official call that we've been discussing for past many days
04:02is likely to be made in the first week of January.
04:07And then you can expect that the two leaders,
04:10Sidra Maya and DK Shukumar,
04:11will be flying down to the national capital.
04:13They'll be seeing the high command.
04:15And then a decision or a formula would be worked out.
04:18But as we've been speaking with our sources,
04:21they are saying that around 9.30 p.m.
04:25Sidra Maya will be landing.
04:26Tomorrow, 10.30, he'll be attending the CWC.
04:29They're going to last for around two to three hours.
04:31And around 4 p.m., he'll be heading back to Bangalore.
04:34So there's a very, you know, very little window for him
04:37to actually meet or see Gandhi's or Malika Arjun Kharge.
04:41In that particular period,
04:42he's also going to meet several union ministers.
04:45So, you know, there's a very bleak chance
04:47that he'll be seeing either Mr. Kharge
04:50or Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi in private.
04:52You know, contrast that to the fact that DK Shukumar
04:54has been camping in Delhi for the last many days.
04:57Rahul Gautam, Nagarjun, thanks very much
04:59for joining us with those details.
05:02Let's see what plays out in Karnataka.
05:04For the last many weeks, there's been speculation.
05:06Nagarjun and Rahul tell us the first week of January
05:08is when the High Command is going to sit down
05:11with Sidra Maya and DK Shukumar
05:13and figure out exactly what is to be done
05:15about who will be going forward,
05:17the Karnataka Chief Minister.
