00:00Hello, everybody, and welcome once again to Giants Live.
00:18We're here in Sacramento, California.
00:20We're almost ready for this year's World's Strongest Man finals.
00:23But while they get themselves sorted here
00:25and hopefully reinforce this stage an extra bit,
00:27across the ocean, there's still one more qualifying event to be held,
00:31and it is the World Tour finals from Glasgow.
00:34There, against the rowdiest, most raucous atmosphere
00:37you'll find anywhere in the sport,
00:38we're going to be seeing big dogs like Tom Stoltman
00:41and big logs with the Log Lift Challenge.
00:52Scotland and strength go hand in hand
00:54because of that brave heart sort of feel.
00:5716-year-olds all the way up to 60, 70-year-olds up in Highland,
01:01they're just naturally strong boys.
01:03They live on farms.
01:05People just associate Scotland with being a very, very strong country.
01:11The history of strength started in Scotland.
01:14You know, the historic stones, the Battle of the Clans,
01:17who would be the bodyguard for the clans chief or the king
01:21or whoever it was, whoever could lift the heaviest stone.
01:24And with that in the modern era, you know, Tom and I,
01:28we've really kind of held on to that kind of history in it.
01:33You know, and it's no surprise that Tom's the greatest
01:36that's ever been at Atlas Stones.
01:37You know, Tom would have been the king's bodyguard,
01:39probably the king of Scotland back then, heaven forbid.
01:43This was a path pre-chosen for him by whoever it might be,
01:51but this was his path that he was supposed to find,
01:53for him to find that joy in life,
01:55because finding that joy is really special,
01:58and that's what I take from it.
02:00Like, it's where I got that tattoo in my arm of Tom winning
02:03the first time, the world's strongest man in 2021,
02:07that embrace that we had.
02:08It is one of the most proudest moments of my life.
02:13You know, I'm a straw man at the end of the day,
02:16and I wanted to end a year and a high
02:18and come to Irons live Glasgow and go out with a band
02:20at the end of the World Tour Finals.
02:24I want to beat Tom.
02:26I've always wanted to beat Tom,
02:27and I feel like, you know,
02:28we've had the potential to beat Tom for quite a few years,
02:31and it'd be nice to actually, you know, finally do it.
02:34Tom's the three-time world's strongest man,
02:36and, you know, he deserves all the credit
02:37that them titles obviously carry.
02:39As they're mine, obviously Tom's title's trump mine.
02:43But different comps, different events, you know,
02:46people are beatable.
02:47No one's unbeatable.
02:49You have to bring nothing but your A-game,
02:51otherwise Tom will just walk straight past you.
02:53So when he raises level, it makes you raise your level
02:56because he is...
02:58He is Tom's total man.
03:03He has won this show.
03:04He is also three times world's strongest man
03:06amongst other titles.
03:06But to pip him to that first shot,
03:10that'd be something special, wouldn't it?
03:13You want to go after that guy who's on his own turf
03:15because the pressure's on him.
03:17Maybe I am an underdog.
03:19Say the underdog's got the biggest bite,
03:21well, put a big hole in him tomorrow.
03:25I can't wait.
03:26You know, I'm probably the one that's getting hunted,
03:28but I'm going to try my best
03:29to stay as far away from my prey as I can.
03:42Welcome to Scotland,
03:44a country of history,
03:45a country of strength.
03:47Almost a millennia ago,
03:49the three powerhouses were William Wallace,
03:52Robert the Bruce,
03:53and Rob Roy.
03:55Fast forward to present day,
03:56and it's Sir Chris Hoy,
03:57Sir Andy Murray,
03:59and potentially a man
04:00who's literally head and shoulders above the rest.
04:03The three times world's strongest man,
04:06Tom Stoltman.
04:07He's won this event before,
04:09but this time,
04:10there are a number of other men
04:11looking to stop him.
04:14Yes, thanks, Radzie.
04:17This is Glasgow.
04:20So let's start with, well,
04:22the reigning official,
04:23Scotland's strongest man.
04:25earned him a place
04:26at tonight's contest,
04:28Callum Crozier.
04:32The British Bears,
04:34what they call this guy,
04:35the biggest strongman event
04:37of his career to date.
04:39Starts now,
04:39Ryan Bennett.
04:42Jack Osborne,
04:44competing in the log lift only tonight,
04:46may look like a geography teacher.
04:48Very powerful man.
04:49From Ukraine,
04:53Pilpiak,
04:54just the latest in a factory line
04:57of incredibly strong men from Ukraine.
05:02From Canada,
05:03they call him the train,
05:05making his Giants' live debut,
05:08James Jeffers.
05:10Another debutant,
05:14former collegiate football player,
05:16came second at America's strongest man last year,
05:19Tim Buck.
05:21The Ghanaian gladiator,
05:24known for his fighting spirit.
05:26A real showman as well.
05:30Lovely muscles.
05:31Evans Nanna.
05:32Another big British star on the rise,
05:37the Flying Flynn,
05:38placed third at Britain's strongest man this year,
05:40Andrew Flynn.
05:43From Canada,
05:45well,
05:45one of their strongest exports,
05:47placed third at world's strongest man in 2021,
05:50the Wolverine,
05:51Maxime Boudreau.
05:54From the Czech Republic,
05:56finished third at this year's Europe's strongest man,
05:58just 23 years of age,
06:00Andre Foytu.
06:05This guy smashed the Welsh deadlift record
06:08at our last event,
06:0914 years as an infantryman,
06:12great at rugby too,
06:13Gavin Bilton.
06:16Two-time,
06:17world's strongest man,
06:18runner-up,
06:19very much on a comeback trail this year,
06:22placed third at Europe's strongest man,
06:24the Terminator himself,
06:26Matthias Kieliszkowski.
06:30A two-time Europe's strongest man,
06:34won his second European title this year,
06:36they call him the future,
06:38he's here tonight,
06:39Luke Richardson.
06:43And finally,
06:45the Albatross himself,
06:48three-time world's strongest man,
06:50won this event in 2023,
06:52Tom Stoltman,
06:55in front of a very excited home crowd.
07:05And unless you think you can do any better,
07:07those are your strongmen.
07:08As we move into the World Log Lift Challenge.
07:14And it starts at 170 kilos,
07:17you want to get a British record,
07:18those who are Brits,
07:19221 or above is what they need.
07:22And then, of course,
07:23there's Iron Bibby's world record at 231.
07:25Will we get there?
07:26Well,
07:26so far we've seen eight men drop out,
07:29and I'm afraid Callum Crozier
07:31didn't get any lifts at all.
07:33Up the top,
07:3342,
07:34he skipped.
07:35As for Kieliszkowski,
07:36a big surprise.
07:37He managed to get up the 170,
07:39but then injury at 180,
07:41and he's out.
07:45I'm afraid the Achilles tendon
07:46that's plagued him
07:47for years now
07:49has once again reared its ugly head.
07:53So one of the favorites
07:54has already dropped out.
07:56We go on to 190 kilos,
07:57and we're going to go for two platforms
07:59at the same time.
08:00They can lift in their own time.
08:01Oleg from Ukraine.
08:04And there's Jack Osborne.
08:06who is one of the favorites
08:08for the log today.
08:10He's talked about getting the British record,
08:12so this should be pretty easy
08:14if he's going to get anywhere near that today.
08:18That's cool.
08:20And it's very easy for both men.
08:25Synchronized pressing there.
08:26That was good stuff.
08:28190 kilos.
08:30Gosh, it's not that long ago
08:31that it was Laurence Charle,
08:34actually,
08:34Mikiliszkowski's coach tonight,
08:36who did that as a British record.
08:38But things have moved on,
08:40but this would be a record
08:41for Luke Richardson.
08:42190 kilos.
08:43Worry to achieve it.
08:45He'll be going head-to-head
08:47with big Tom Stoltman,
08:49three-time world's strongest man.
08:53Yes,
08:53a man you'd expect to be
08:55200-plus kilos tonight.
08:58So this is a big moment for Richardson.
09:00This is
09:00to try and not give away
09:02too much of an advantage
09:04to those who are likely
09:05to go on and do better.
09:06Oh,
09:07missed it.
09:08Well,
09:09Stoltman locks out,
09:10gets it.
09:11Now,
09:12will Richardson have a second go?
09:15I think he's worth it.
09:16It's almost as if he
09:17lacked the confidence a bit.
09:19He certainly threw it
09:19fast enough overhead.
09:21He's just got to stick it
09:22and hold it.
09:26Yes.
09:27He locks out.
09:28Yes, he does.
09:32So two more go clear
09:33at 190.
09:34Man vs. Log continues
09:38when we return
09:39with Andre Foytu
09:41eyeing up the under-23
09:42world record,
09:43Jack Osborne chasing
09:44the British one
09:45and Tom Stoltman
09:46looking to beat them both
09:47in his backyard.
09:48Who will come out on top?
09:50We'll find out next
09:50on Giants Live.
10:03Well,
10:03welcome back.
10:04to Glasgow
10:05where the
10:07World Log Lift Challenge
10:08continues, Colin.
10:09That's right.
10:10We're on to round four.
10:11200 kilograms,
10:12440 pounds
10:13and four men
10:14have gone so far.
10:15Tom Stoltman
10:16has been successful.
10:17Richardson,
10:18Polpiak
10:19and Bennett
10:19have all failed.
10:21So,
10:22just two men to come
10:23and it's Foytu,
10:25a man who's had his eyes
10:27set on the world record
10:28for a long time.
10:29skipped 190.
10:31How easy will 200 be?
10:38Manages it.
10:40Yeah,
10:41he doesn't exactly
10:41dominate it though,
10:42does he?
10:43No,
10:44but it was enough.
10:45We've seen that in the past
10:48with the likes of
10:49Sabiscus,
10:49he would come out
10:50and skip weights
10:51and not look pretty convincing
10:52and then pull it out
10:54when it mattered.
10:54Now,
10:55Jack Osborne
10:55looked very convincing
10:57at 190.
10:59He's choosing
11:00all the weights
11:00on the way up.
11:06Almost made it look
11:07easier than 190.
11:09I think he did.
11:09So,
11:10we have three men
11:10going forward.
11:13He's all shoulder power
11:15didn't use his legs
11:16much there
11:16at all,
11:17Osborne.
11:17Very impressive.
11:22Tom Stoltman then
11:23will be
11:25attempting
11:26210
11:26Yes,
11:29for Stoltman
11:29this is all about
11:30accruing points
11:31for the overall win.
11:33He won't really
11:34care so much
11:35if Osborne
11:35goes on
11:37and does whatever.
11:38He gets a success here,
11:40it'll be really good
11:40points in the lock.
11:43Luke was quite clear
11:44he wanted big power
11:45from his little brother.
11:48Oh,
11:49the first attempt
11:50a little shaky there.
11:52In fact,
11:53he's just seen
11:54stars of it.
11:55He's got to take
11:55his time.
11:56Step back.
11:56He knows the score,
11:59he knows what to do.
12:00Sometimes you bend down,
12:01you clean it up
12:02and suddenly
12:03it just crushes
12:04your windpipe
12:04a little bit.
12:07It's got to take
12:08a bit more air in
12:08as you pick it up.
12:11Keep it methodical.
12:12up it goes.
12:16But there it stays,
12:19I'm afraid.
12:20Well,
12:21Tom Stoltman
12:21bows out
12:22at 210.
12:26The second attempt
12:27a lot better
12:27than the first
12:28but he'd already
12:28burned just too much
12:30energy
12:30in that first failure.
12:31and we move on
12:34and we move on with
12:35Andre Foyti
12:36also going
12:37for 210.
12:38A weight
12:39he handled
12:40last year
12:40at the World Log
12:42Championships
12:42comfortably.
12:44So this isn't
12:44any kind of
12:45a personal record
12:46but
12:46he's at the
12:48stepping stone
12:48to Moore.
12:51Well,
12:51he's pleased
12:52with that.
12:55Foyti nails
12:56210.
12:59He's got the lead
13:00now then.
13:01What can Jack
13:01Osborne reply with?
13:05Picture of
13:05concentration
13:06as
13:07the Czech man
13:08drives it overhead.
13:11He'll be desperate
13:11to at least
13:12go 220
13:12I'm sure
13:13to break his own
13:14Czech record.
13:18But Osborne
13:19though
13:19this
13:19I think
13:21is really
13:21the last
13:22stepping stone
13:23before a British
13:23record.
13:24I can see
13:24him doing
13:24that today
13:25221 kilos
13:26of Luke Stoltman
13:27if he nails
13:28this well.
13:31Oh
13:31it was better
13:32than the last.
13:33Good Lord.
13:34Jack Osborne
13:35making that
13:36look like fun.
13:38Well
13:39there could be
13:39a lot more
13:40in there.
13:40That was
13:41really impressive.
13:42Look at the way
13:42he drove it
13:43off his chest.
13:43It flew up
13:44barely had to
13:45press it
13:45with his triceps
13:46and there's
13:47definitely
13:4810
13:48maybe more
13:49kilos
13:49in there.
13:50Well Osborne
13:52has decided
13:53to skip
13:54220
13:54and for
13:5642
13:57well this
13:58would be
13:58a junior
13:59world record
14:00he'll be
14:0124 soon
14:02making him
14:03a very old
14:03man
14:04no longer
14:05a junior
14:05yes
14:06yes and also
14:06a Czech
14:07record
14:07so 10
14:08kilos
14:08past what
14:09he did
14:09last year
14:09if he gets
14:13this
14:13it's an
14:14under 23
14:14world record
14:15it does
14:17surely
14:18and it is
14:19well he's
14:23having a nice
14:23night
14:24well well well
14:27pressure on
14:28Jack Osborne
14:29now he skips
14:29this
14:30he's going to
14:31go for the
14:31British record
14:32Osborne
14:33and that
14:33was really
14:34solid
14:34what can
14:39Jack Osborne
14:40reply with
14:41his coach
14:43Laurence
14:44Charley
14:44encouraging
14:47him
14:48yes
14:50Charley
14:50has coached
14:51him since
14:51before his
14:52first ever
14:52competition
14:53as we move
14:56on to 222
14:58kilos
14:59222
15:02this is for
15:02the British
15:03record
15:03here he goes
15:09for one kilo
15:09more than Luke
15:10Stoltman's
15:11British record
15:12of 221
15:13kilograms
15:14huge breath
15:19in
15:19oh can
15:20he hold
15:21it
15:21he can
15:23and he's
15:24got it
15:24the British
15:26record now
15:27belongs to
15:28Jack Osborne
15:29well what a
15:31night
15:31and I'm sure
15:32he'll probably
15:33call it a day
15:33there
15:34that's a massive
15:35moment for him
15:35a little stagger
15:37but he's still
15:37got it up
15:38well he's with
15:39Radzi now
15:40Jack Osborne
15:42you've just
15:43made history
15:43a British
15:44record in
15:45the log press
15:46how are you
15:46feeling
15:46ecstatic
15:47you know
15:48it's like
15:48those first
15:49few lifts
15:50weren't moving
15:50very well
15:51but as I
15:51kind of got
15:52heavier weights
15:52and that going
15:53I actually
15:53started pressing
15:54normally and
15:55properly
15:55so especially
15:56having this
15:56huge crowd
15:57here does
15:57get your
15:58amped up
15:58and get
15:58the adrenaline
15:59going
15:59especially
15:59when you
16:00get those
16:00heavier weights
16:00how did you
16:01do it
16:01because just
16:02as you said
16:02it seemed
16:03to get
16:03easier
16:04the heavier
16:04the log
16:05got
16:05kind of
16:06lazy in
16:07training
16:07so when
16:08the weights
16:08get heavier
16:09I actually
16:09kind of
16:10like get
16:11more energy
16:12into it
16:12more enthusiasm
16:13it is lazy
16:14but having
16:15this huge
16:15crowd here
16:16and the
16:16big weights
16:17on there
16:17does get
16:17you fired
16:18up and
16:18especially
16:19when it's
16:19like a
16:19record on
16:20there
16:20you know
16:21you have
16:22to go
16:22for it
16:22so I have
16:22to put
16:23everything in
16:23Jack
16:24thank you
16:25for that

16:42more
16:43it's time
16:44for event
16:44number two
16:45and this
16:45one is a
16:46fascinating
16:47one
16:47it is the
16:48load and
16:48push
16:49it is simple
16:50in theory
16:51take those
16:52three implements
16:52in relay
16:53form
16:54and load
16:54them into
16:55the skip
16:55the problem
16:56is those
16:57implements
16:57are a sandbag
16:58a tyre
16:59and an anvil
17:00with a combined
17:00weight of
17:01360 kilograms
17:03and after doing
17:04all that
17:05lung
17:05busting
17:06action
17:06you then
17:07load
17:07them
17:07into
17:07this
17:08skip
17:08aka
17:09the
17:09wheelbarrow
17:10of destiny
17:11you pick
17:12it up
17:12at the
17:12end
17:12and run
17:13the 20
17:14meters
17:14as long
17:15as humanly
17:15possible
17:16the fastest
17:17man wins
17:18and it could
17:18come down
17:19to who
17:20wants it
17:20most
17:20well

17:35next to take
17:37on the load
17:38and push
17:38i'll be honest
17:40budgets were down
17:41this year
17:41this is just a
17:42bunch of stuff
17:42we found in
17:43the garage
17:43and it's
17:46crozier
17:46scotland's
17:47strongest man
17:48who's pushing
17:49jeffers here
17:50for the lead
17:51all three men
17:52onto the tyre
17:53pretty much
17:53equally
17:54flynn on the
17:55far sides
17:55very quick
17:56though
17:57starts to make
17:58a bit of a
17:58lead here
17:59that's flynn
18:00and crozier
18:01making fast
18:03work of this
18:0351.58
18:04to beat
18:05150 kilo
18:07sack
18:08this is a
18:08real brute
18:09of a finish
18:10and that's
18:12just the loading
18:12section
18:13as they have to
18:13wheel round
18:14these barrows
18:15lift them
18:16and go
18:17this is going
18:18to be

26:15isn't it
26:16as for Richardson
26:17oh the big wobble
26:18there
26:19that could have been a whole lot worse
26:21good recovery from Richardson
26:22probably not the result he wanted
26:25and there's 100% commitment from Nana
26:27Evans
26:28what would success look like for you by end of play today
26:32I think I've already won
26:35why the crowd
26:37I love
26:38they make time to come see us
26:40and giving them something to go back home
26:42gives me happiness
26:43my mum always said
26:45not everybody
26:46to be a champion
26:47people are winners
26:48but a champion is someone
26:50who makes people's day
26:51who gives people something to think about
26:54and I'm here to be a champion
26:55well said sir
26:57and finally we can't take the smile off your face
26:59man I love what I do
27:00seriously
27:01I've given so much to be here
27:04and getting something back in return
27:06makes my day
27:08I'm so satisfied mate
27:10we're satisfied talking to you mate
27:12it's a pleasure
27:12thank you so much brother
27:14lovely stuff from Evans
27:16the Ghanaian winning the crowd
27:17and event three
27:18Richardson second
27:19despite his stumble
27:20with Andrew Flynn flying into third
27:23Tim Buck meanwhile
27:24has withdrawn from the event injured
27:26overall now
27:29Luke Richardson's lead
27:30is up to five and a half points
27:32while Nana
27:32moves into second spot
27:34and Andrew Flynn
27:35is currently edging
27:36Foytu and Stoltman
27:37for the third podium position
27:39it's tight though
27:40can he hang on
27:41he's with Radzi now
27:42Andy Flynn
27:45currently top three
27:46at an international show
27:48things are going pretty well for you
27:50things are going very well for me
27:51and I'll take it
27:52but it's also very close
27:54how are we feeling at this point
27:55I always know going into this
27:57that the wrecking ball
27:58will be the deciding event
27:59I think
28:00that's going to set the tone
28:01for like
28:01the last event as well
28:03so this is
28:04all or nothing now
28:05so with yourself
28:06we know dynamically you're brilliant
28:07you're a brilliant athlete
28:08how are you statically
28:09when it comes to just that
28:10forearm lactic
28:11I'm not putting it down
28:13unless my body gives way
28:14I've done it twice already
28:15so I kind of know
28:16a guideline for what I'm aiming for
28:17about 85-89 seconds
28:19I've done before
28:20so I can go and see
28:21what they're doing
28:22and then I've got it in my mind
28:23mate good luck
28:24thank you very much
28:25well it's the wrecking ball
28:28hold now
28:29that's the wrecking ball
28:30they've got to hold it
28:32270 kilos
28:33just don't let go
28:35yeah 600 pounds
28:37in the hands
28:37and this is what's happened
28:38so far
28:39Callum Crozier
28:39the Scotsman
28:40on top
28:411 minute
28:4217 seconds
28:43ahead of Gavin Bilton
28:45Bennett in third
28:46well in fourth
28:48Tom Stoltman
28:49things not really
28:50going his way tonight
28:51potentially his
28:53bicep recovery
28:54still going on
28:55as we move on
28:57to Foytu
28:58and Jeffers
28:59that's a tough result
29:04for Stoltman
29:05probably going to lose
29:07a lot of points
29:08let's see how
29:08these two men do
29:09the only way
29:10this event could be improved
29:11is if we turned it
29:12into conquers
29:13can you imagine
29:15I like that
29:17swinging it in
29:19probably be kind of
29:21bad for the back though
29:22both men
29:23going to dig deep
29:25in this event
29:26psychologically
29:27shutting their eyes
29:28waiting
29:30hoping
29:31to hit
29:31the other guy
29:32drop it
29:32short handle
29:34they have to hang on to
29:35make it any easier
29:37that only three fingers
29:38are really on it
29:39now then
29:41we're up past
29:4130 seconds
29:421 minute 17
29:43from Crozier
29:43Scotland's strongest man
29:46which is a
29:46delightful result
29:48for him
29:48and the crowd
29:49nervous glance at the clock
29:53from Jeffers there
29:55but Foytu
29:55remains inside himself
29:58Jeffers just leaning back
30:00more
30:00trying to get his body weight
30:01into helping him here
30:03he's got to be careful
30:03though
30:04if he starts to rest
30:05that on his thighs
30:06he will get cold for it
30:07as it slips down
30:08I think Jeffers is about
30:10to go
30:10the Canadian on the right
30:11that's that
30:14now Foytu
30:15little smile on Foytu's face
30:17he'd like that
30:18little smile
30:181.17 and a half to beat
30:21and he has done that
30:23he's sucking this up
30:27he's in the lead
30:28by some margin now
30:29can he go to
30:301 minute 30
30:31looking really strong
30:33legs starting to wobble a bit
30:35he's going down
30:36well that is great work
30:39from Andre Foytu
30:411.31
30:423.7
30:43that's a huge time
30:45very hard to see that
30:47being beaten
30:47it's one of the best times
30:49we've ever seen
30:50on this implement
30:51such a tough character
30:53Foytu
30:53to Wolverine himself
30:56Maxime Boudreau
30:57and Andrew Flynn
30:59he's had his eye on
31:01this event hasn't he
31:03he's in a great position
31:05right now overall
31:06Flynn if he can just
31:07consolidate it with a good
31:08result here
31:09for some reason
31:11his wrecking ball is spinning
31:12yeah that is a bit strange
31:13isn't it
31:13maybe disco balls
31:14is the way to go
31:15I'm just throwing ideas
31:20you know
31:20I'm just trying to help
31:22I'll meet you at the design stage
31:24next time Danny
31:25I think
31:25Flynn looks strong
31:29it doesn't seem to be
31:30putting him off anyway
31:31it isn't twisting the chain
31:32at all
31:33as for the Wolverine
31:35he's starting to wobble
31:36around a bit
31:36just past the 32nd mark
31:39we've still got a whole minute
31:40to go before we get up to
31:41Andre Foytu's incredible
31:42one minute 31.37
31:45they're passing
31:47Tom Stoltman right now
31:49and things are just getting worse
31:50for Big Tom
31:51Boudreau
31:55starting to perhaps waver
31:57Flynn
31:58like granite
32:00and in a night where there's only five events
32:04a real bad event like what Tom Stoltman's had
32:08and all these men
32:09there you go Boudreau
32:10it might not be great for him
32:11but it's even worse for Stoltman
32:13it's going to cost him a massive amount of points
32:15now can Andy Flynn
32:16zone in on that one minute 31
32:19he's
32:20nothing he's slipped at all here
32:22he's still holding firm
32:23one minute and twenty
32:25eleven seconds to go
32:26he's looking at that clock
32:28and he knows what he has to do
32:291.31.37 to beat
32:32proper stoic look about him
32:34he's so close
32:35he couldn't wait
32:381.31.75
32:41he sort of enjoyed that
32:43he couldn't
32:44he really couldn't wait
32:45it's that feeling when you've carried shopping for too long
32:47and you finally release
32:49the pain is even worse
32:50good for Andy Flynn
32:51the spinning ball certainly didn't put him off
32:54there's a pain pleasure moment
32:59well that's certainly thrown down a gauntlet
33:02to Luke Richardson and Evans Nanner
33:04yes our final pairing
33:09oh Nana
33:11well he should be allowed to go again
33:13that was just a stumble with the kit
33:14he is
33:15but his time will start late
33:17yes he hadn't locked out
33:21so that means
33:22he could continue
33:23yes had he lifted it and held it for a few seconds
33:27it'd be a different story
33:28but Luke Richardson's just got to zone out
33:31and really focus on what he's about here
33:34he looks very solid now Nana doesn't he
33:38sometimes that jolt of adrenaline when things go wrong right at the start
33:42can just drive you on to an even better performance
33:44five seconds is the difference we're talking about here
33:49so whatever the clock says
33:50add five seconds for Nana
33:52we'll get the official time from head ref Magnus Fair Magnussen at the end of this
33:58he's not looking comfortable
34:04Richardson
34:05he's not enjoying this is he
34:08can you enjoy it
34:10is it possible to enjoy this
34:11if you're of a strange disposition
34:14yes
34:15oh they're in different positions
34:18Nana
34:18they're starting to be pulled forward
34:20Richardson's being pulled to the ground
34:21I don't think he's got any more
34:22no
34:23well 1.13.45 for Luke Richardson
34:26oh no
34:28fingers are opening up
34:30look at this
34:30well that's brave
34:33from Evans Nana
34:341.19.81
34:37his time
34:38yes the five second penalty
34:40from this stumble
34:41he regrouped
34:44picked it up
34:45did a great time in the end
34:46finishing third
34:47Andrew Flynn takes the win
34:49but edging out
34:50Andre Foytu
34:51but just a few tenths of a second
34:53Nana in third
34:54with overall leader Luke Richardson in fifth
34:56and Tom Stoltman in tenth
34:58his comeback hopes
34:59look done
35:00with one event to go then
35:02Luke Richardson's lead
35:03is down to two and a half points
35:04from Andrew Flynn
35:05who's moved into second
35:06Evans Nana
35:07now only half a point clear of Foytu
35:09in the race for third
35:10Stoltman lying fifth
35:12a remarkable 13 points
35:14off his usual top spot
35:15Tom Stoltman
35:17the day obviously hasn't gone
35:18as you dare I say
35:19have liked it to
35:20how's it gone from your end
35:21yeah I mean
35:22I had no expectations
35:23I came in saying
35:24I was just doing log
35:25and then last week
35:26I said I did a full competition
35:27I've not competed in Glasgow
35:28for like two years
35:29so I thought
35:30you know what
35:30let's just do it
35:31but I just wanted to go
35:32get through this show
35:32without any touchwood
35:34bicep injuries
35:37or anything else
35:37and see how the bicep held up
35:38and like I said
35:39the bicep's holding up
35:40so far so good
35:41one four down
35:42one left
35:43it's the stones
35:44going to end on a high
35:45yeah this is the one
35:47I'm more scared for
35:47I'm not touching out
35:48the stone since August
35:49so yeah
35:50my heaviest stone
35:51I've been up to
35:52in the gym
35:52the last three months
35:54is 140
35:54so if I get past 140
35:55so if I get past 140
35:57we're going to be happy
35:58so even Tom Stoltman's
36:00got questions about the stones
36:01yeah that's what I
36:02tore my bicep on
36:03and it's still a wee bit
36:03of a dark spot
36:05so that's exactly why
36:06I wanted to do this as well
36:07to see I mean
36:07this is a heavier set of stones
36:09so if I can do this
36:10I know my bicep's 100%
36:12so I can push on for next year
36:13good luck today mate
36:14thank you
36:14the Albatross hoping to finish
36:18on a high
36:18but it's two other
36:19British contenders
36:20who battle for top spot
36:21Flynn and Richardson
36:23who will take the crown
36:24the Castlestones will decide
36:26when we return
36:27welcome back to Glasgow
36:37and the World Tour Finals
36:38over to Colin and Danny
36:39so one event to go Colin
36:42and it's Luke Richardson
36:44on top
36:45Andy Flynn currently in second
36:47Nana in third
36:47and look at that
36:48Tom Stoltman down in fifth
36:50coming into the stones
36:51the Castlestones
36:52and they're the big set
36:54finishing on 200 kilos
36:5560 seconds
36:56to try and do the lot
36:57so far we've had five men go
37:01and it's Gavin Bilton
37:02on five stones
37:0429 seconds
37:05who's in the lead
37:07so Ryan Bennett
37:11and Tom Stoltman next
37:12perhaps Tom can find
37:14some redemption here
37:15after
37:15a disappointing night
37:18for him
37:18if he's going to find
37:20redemption in anything
37:21it's going to be
37:22slam dunking these stones on
37:23that's for sure
37:24looks pretty good so far
37:25120, 140, 160 kilogram
37:29like nothing
37:2929.98 to beat
37:32he's halfway there
37:33with one stone to go
37:35he's going to stumble on Andy
37:36it'll be the big 200 kilo one
37:38Leibolder
37:40he nails it
37:4123.52 for Tom Stoltman
37:44a fantastic result
37:46that's about seven seconds quicker
37:48than what Gav Bilton did
37:49so he's way in the lead
37:51that's a huge result for him
37:53and in many ways
37:56it sets him up for
37:57what's coming ahead
37:59this was really a test for him
38:02not so much just about winning
38:04just getting through it
38:06and Ryan Bennett
38:07failing to do the fifth there
38:08but he's had a great night
38:10in what is one of his
38:12first ever big internationals
38:14Stoltman though
38:16passes the test
38:17so 42
38:18and Nana
38:19next to take on the stones
38:20don't forget
38:21our podium result tonight
38:22whoever is top three
38:24will qualify
38:25for the world's strongest man finals
38:27Nana from Gano on the right
38:3042 from the Czech Republic
38:31on the left
38:32looking really quick
38:33neither man
38:34exactly a giant
38:36in terms of height
38:36so these first few stones
38:37can be a problem
38:38and Nana indeed
38:40clips the stone
38:41on the way up
38:42in the third
38:42this will be something else
38:43if 42 were to get this up
38:45he could even beat
38:46Tom Stoltman
38:46well only half a point
38:48separates these men
38:49whoever wins this
38:50and I don't think
38:52it'll be Nana
38:52well we will see
38:5342 in the finals
38:56well Nana didn't hurt himself
38:59there
39:00he doesn't appear to have
39:01only just went
39:03too quickly
39:04too early
39:05at the fifth stone
39:05when he needed
39:06just to regroup
39:07he's had a bit of time
39:08no
39:08no
39:09exhaustion kicks in
39:10of course
39:10well Evans now
39:12now managed four
39:12may be injured
39:14what an impressive run
39:17though by Foytu
39:18he's really come a pace
39:20except for the tacky
39:21has stuck the t-shirt
39:23to his hand
39:23that was the most
39:24disappointing t-shirt throw
39:25of all time
39:26he needs to work on that
39:29well he's 23
39:31he'll be in the world's
39:34strongest man finals
39:35on to Andrew Flynn
39:37and Luke Richardson
39:38final pair
39:42Richardson on the right
39:43the man in the driving
39:44seat at the moment
39:45Flynn on the left
39:46who's really attacking
39:47oh no
39:48that's a bad error
39:50from Flynn
39:51if it doesn't go in
39:52you've got to replace it
39:53and he's done that
39:54he knows that
39:55this is going to cost him
39:56heavy though
39:56Richardson
39:58going through the motions
40:00here now
40:00he just needs to put in
40:02a good performance
40:02and he will be the world
40:03tour finals champion
40:04this would crown it off
40:06well here it is
40:07the final stone
40:08for Luke
40:10the future Richardson
40:11and he does it
40:1231.03 for Luke
40:16and look at this
40:17from Flynn
40:18after a disastrous start
40:20I don't know about
40:21flying Flynn
40:22but fighting Flynn
40:23fighting back
40:24doing six stones
40:25in 38 and a half seconds
40:26impressive
40:27yes both men
40:28should feel pretty proud
40:30of themselves there
40:31there's Richardson's
40:32fiance
40:32two titles he's taken
40:37this year
40:37Europe's strongest man
40:39now the world tour
40:40finals
40:41and Flynn
40:41podium
40:42one of the big ones
40:43it's all about this man
40:47the future
40:48he looks really solid
40:51from start to finish
40:52no injuries
40:54he'll be thrilled
40:55with that
40:55there he is on top
40:56he'd like to see that
40:57at world's strongest man
40:58we'll have to wait
40:59see Foytu and Flynn
41:00round out the podium
41:01but look at Stoltman
41:02hiding a good performance
41:04by a man looking
41:05to get through this contest
41:06unscathed
41:07well tonight belongs to him
41:09they call him the future
41:11they might be right
41:13and he's with Ramsey now
