00:00Here's a new way to save on those growing grocery bills.
00:04Take Ozempic.
00:05A new study found that households where someone is taking GLP-1s like Ozempic or Wagovi
00:10spent more than 5% less on groceries within six months of taking the drug.
00:15Higher income households that likely spent more to begin with saw an even bigger drop of 8%.
00:21And it wasn't just grocery stores.
00:23Purchases at fast food chains, coffee shops, and other restaurants fell by about 8% too.
00:28I mean, when you think about it, this does make perfect sense.
00:31If the drugs are working to curb your appetite, you're going to spend less coin on food.
00:35But I'm sure the businesses aren't as thrilled as their customers, though.
00:40Thing is, though, there were some food categories that saw increased spending.
00:45Yogurt, fresh fruit, nutrition bars, and meat snacks had modest increases.
00:49Now, if cost is what's holding you back from taking GLP-1s in the first place,
00:54I have some great news for you.
00:55The FDA has approved a daily Wagovi pill, the first oral GLP-1.
01:01And not only will it cost a whole lot less than the injectable version,
01:04about $150 for a month of the lowest dose,
01:07but it should be available in just a few weeks.
01:10So just in time for those resolutions to kick in.
