00:00um your next pet could actually be a raccoon according to a website called dexero
00:09um researchers say raccoons may be inching closer to becoming human pets a study from
00:16the university of arkansas department of biology found that raccoons are physically changing in
00:20response to their interactions with humans really and by physically changing they mean
00:25their faces are evolving to look even cuter than they already are they're not they're not
00:30dumpster diving they're dumpster diving less and becoming less disease ridden because we're
00:35feeding them i guess one biologist says once wild animals start spending time in the proximity of
00:40people they become a little let a little bit less afraid and perhaps even start showing some physical
00:45signs of domestication it's called domestication syndrome some some areas have deer that are
00:52becoming domesticated oh yeah uh like if you go to kiowa or like charleston or any of those like
00:57kind of wooded beach areas people feed them so they'll walk right up to you and eat out of your
01:02hands i've said before too i feel like deer are becoming smarter like on my way into work i see
01:08deer on the side of the road and i used to like way slow down because i'm like this idiot's gonna
01:12jump out yeah i think they're learning what cars are they have to right i guess that's evolution of
01:17deer like it has to be passed down i guess so oh hey ryan you might want to jump out in front of
01:22that car but i'm not gonna lie after like as a kid after i saw pocahontas like the animated movie
01:27i really wanted a raccoon and i wanted to name him miko you're so easily swayed
01:34you
