China on Tuesday urged the United States to fulfil what it called its responsibility toward nuclear disarmament, responding to a draft Pentagon report that claimed Beijing has expanded its intercontinental ballistic missile arsenal and shows little interest in arms control talks.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian rejected the report’s conclusions, saying the US should create conditions for other nuclear-armed states to disarm and stressing that China does not engage in nuclear arms races. Beijing has repeatedly described such reports as misleading and aimed at damaging China’s international image.

In a separate issue, China also criticised recent US actions blocking approvals for DJI drones, calling the move unjust and politically motivated. Chinese officials said the restrictions harm fair competition and disrupt global supply chains.

The comments come amid renewed tensions between Washington and Beijing over security, technology, and military transparency.
