00:00Balikan natin si Administrator Antonio Almeda ng National Electrification Administration o NEA
00:06para talakayin ng monitoring at paghahanda sa power supplies at electric cooperatives ngayong holiday season.
00:15Admin Almeda, maganda tanghali po muli.
00:18Good afternoon, Nasek Joey and Yusek Marge. Merry Christmas.
00:23Merry Christmas, Sir.
00:38Yes, as of Joey, as you may know, we just came from typhoon-stricken areas, I mean the typhoon season,
00:51o typhoons Opong, Tino, and Yuan.
00:53So, we are supposed to be restoring areas in Catanduanes, Basbate, Aurora, Vizcaya, and some other areas.
01:08So, the standing order is to make sure that restoration will be done before the Christmas season.
01:17So, fortunately, noong December 15, na restored na namin lahat 100%.
01:23Restored na ang kuryente on all households, no?
01:29Except for some other areas na talagang masira ang yung mga bahay.
01:35So far, there's no significant or major glitch on the power supply.
01:51in a clan, of which the Co-op and NGCP were able to come up with some remedial measures
01:59to assure that there will be steady power supply during the Christmas season.
02:05Admin, mayroon po bang special monitoring protocol or alert system
02:15Yes, Yusek Marge, we are in close monitoring 24 around the clock.
02:24We are monitoring all areas.
02:27We have a digital dashboard command center here wherein we can so far monitor 60 out of the 121 ECs.
02:35And our DRDM disaster reduction department and management are in close monitoring on all the 121 ECs.
02:47So any glitch, any major outage, it is reported to us.
02:52And we act and respond accordingly.
03:19So far, as in, Joey, wala naman, ano?
03:26Except for Akelco, kasi transmission backbone ang problema,
03:34of which NGCP and Akelco at the LFP Cooperative were able to implement remedial measures
03:41to assure continuous power supply.
03:43But other than that, hopefully, wala naman bag yung forthcoming.
03:48So I believe we're okay.
03:51We're okay.
04:04It's a standard protocol that there are standby linemen to respond to any glitches that can happen.
04:15Standard, whether or not Christmas season or ordinary days,
04:19we have a standard protocol to address and respond immediately to any glitch for that matter.
04:45Well, normally, there are the electric co-ops to have standby crew to address this.
04:54Now, if just in case ma-overwhelm ang mga electric cooperatives,
05:01then that's the time you organize task forces.
05:03But that only happens during typhoon season, typhoon cost restoration.
05:11But other than that, I am confident that the electric cooperatives can handle their chores well.
05:18Okay. Admin, how do we monitor yung load capacity and demand forecast ng mga electric cooperatives ngayong December,
05:42So, the forecast is within the available contracted capacity among electric cooperatives.
05:51Pero, sir, just in case meron pong, o nabagit yung kanina may possibility po na ma-overwhelm,
05:59ano po yung kadalasang reasons ng pagkaroon po ng overcapacity o yung excess use, if any po?
06:09Wala naman ganon, Joey.
06:14As I've said, this is a cold season.
06:17So, wala naman sa guro.
06:19I'm sure the electric cooperatives were able to contract enough capacity to supply 24 hours.
06:27Other than yung mga normal na outages or glitches happens,
06:33yung nadatapuan ng vegetation, other causes.
06:37But other than that, they're okay.
06:39They're okay.
06:51Well, it all depends on their response time and we are monitoring them
06:56and that will affect their categorization.
06:59I mean, there are merits and demerits if ever they are not responding well
07:05or they're not doing the job well.
07:07There are merits and demerits that will affect their categorization at the end of the year.
07:11Admin, in terms of coordination po ng NEA with DOE, NGCP,
07:30Well, normally in response to power outages, it only concerns electric cooperatives.
07:35Now, on the power supply, on the generation side, it's DOE that is really monitoring that.
07:43But so far, the power supply, the generations coming to supply power on electric cooperatives,
07:55nagkakaroon yan ng yellow alert or red alert to be announced by DOE.
08:00But so far, we have not received any.
08:03So far, we have not received any.
08:05If there would be any shutdown or any cause for deficiency on the power supply in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao,
08:14DOE sounded, nagsasound off sa amin, whether a yellow alert or red alert.
08:20But so far, God forbid it, wala namang ganon.
08:25So far, we're okay.
08:37Well, to all our televiewers and the people hearing us, first, I want to greet everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
09:17Thank you, Joey. Thank you much.
09:20Thank you, sir.
