00:00SEVEN DAYS AGO, 50 STRANGERS ARRIVED IN CANADA DURING THE FIRST LEG OF FANTASY RV TOUR'S MARITIME TOUR.
00:14AND NOW, A QUARTER OF THE WAY INTO THEIR MONTHLONG PILGRIMAGE ACROSS FOUR ATLANTIC PROVINCES, THESE RVERS HAVE GONE FROM TIMID TRAVELERS JUST TOING THE LINE,
00:26TO A ROVING TRIBE OF COMPATIBLE ADVENTURERS AND FELLOW FOOD LOVERS RIDING THE ATLANTIC BREEZE TOGETHER TOWARD THEIR NEXT EAST COAST ENCOUNTER.
00:47FIRST TIME VISITORS, ERIN AND CHRIS, HAVE NOW BEEN PROPERLY SEASONED BY THE REGION'S SIGNATURE SALTY MIST.
00:53NEARLY SWALLOWED UP BY ITS LIVING TIDES, AND HAVE COME TO ACCEPT THAT LOBSTER CAN EASILY BE HAD HERE FOR JUST ABOUT EVERY MEAL.
01:03THEY'VE WITNESSED LOADS OF SURPRISES SO FAR, AND RATHER THAN RISK MISSING OUT ON ANY OF THESE HIGHLIGHTS, THE COUPLE MADE SURE TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF EVERY MARINE-THEMED MILE BY EMBRACING FANTASY'S EXPERTISE ALONG THESE COASTAL SHORES.
01:18THE COASTAL SHORES.
01:25THE COASTAL SHORES IN THE ABORTION

01:45THIS MORNING
01:48HARVED
01:50We'll have up to 50 different guests, and all 50 of those people are all going to have
02:07a different experience on the tour.
02:10So that's part of what we do is making sure that everybody is included.
02:16Everybody's having a good time.
02:17For some, it's super easy because they're going to jump in, and they want to be the star
02:21and have everybody flock to them.
02:24Others, they're a little bit more timid, a little bit more shy, and it takes more to open them up.
02:29But they do, and by the end, everybody is at their comfort level with everybody else.
02:35A lot of people, you can really watch guests really blossom along the tour.
02:40Yeah, that's what I really love to see is how everybody is a stranger,
02:46and by the end, they've all come together, and they're exchanging phone numbers and emails
02:53and addresses and that so that they can get together again in the future.
03:00Beginning with the forgotten corners of New Brunswick, the tour started off soft-spoken
03:05and soaked in history.
03:06The roads were quiet, the forests deep, and the occasional ghost story added to its mysterious setting.
03:15Now, as RVs roll across an invisible border into Nova Scotia,
03:19leaving fog-draped mornings in the rear view,
03:22the mist burns off to reveal a province that simply can't hide in the shadows.
03:27With over 8,000 miles of coastline, this sea-bound peninsula doesn't just whisper its secrets.
03:44It sings them aloud, turning the energy way up as it leans a little further into the sea.
03:51Immediately, the journey shifts from introspective to electric,
03:56with towns that display their history like vibrant tattoos full of pigment and pride,
04:02a waterfront that dances with tall ships,
04:05and the scenic road that suddenly hums to a different kind of tune.
04:10It's clear we came here to celebrate.
04:21The RVers is made possible by...

04:41The RVers is made possible by...
04:43Now you see it.
04:47Now you don't.
04:49Segway.
04:51With fantasy-branded rigs all situated at their latest oceanfront campground,
05:03the festivities begin just steps away from the sparkling Bay of Fundy,
05:08whose tides now feed a different kind of shoreline.
05:12Here, the coast is a shaky scribble of tightly-notched harbors and bays,
05:17in which every sunset is a private screening.
05:21It's no wonder this haven is home to what's said to be the most fought-over piece of land in all of North America.
05:29From indigenous roots to French settlers and English invaders,
05:33the tour arranges an opportunity to travel back four centuries at several historic sites, including the Citadel,
05:41where kilted highlanders patrol the grounds like it's still the 1860s.
05:47Fort Royal, a full-scale reconstruction of a 17th century colony,
05:55and Fort Anne, a sturdy stronghold maintained to showcase military architecture
06:01and recount the cultural significance of ancient battles that took place over this prime land.
06:10Time unravels passing through timbered rooms and storehouses where the smell of gunpowder still lingers to ignite the imagination.
06:18Rolling green earthworks display cannons like old soldiers still guarding the now peaceful waterfront.
06:26And the sea air pairs well with freshly baked strudel and crusty sourdough from a nearby local bakery.
06:34Following this stroll through history, it's a short drive from calm colonial ruins to a buzzing bohemian harbor
06:45as the tour sails south, bringing guests face-to-face with the soul of this province.
06:51A time capsule of candy-colored heritage homes collide with a modern-day fishing community
06:57that has shipbuilding excellence ingrained into every wooden vessel.
07:02In particular, the iconic Blue Nose, a timeless legend detailed at the Fisheries Museum located just a bit further along the wharf.
07:14Well, on a fantasy tour, we build in free time at every location.
07:21And I think that's important because at the end of the day, this is your vacation.
07:27And we want you to do what you want to do on your vacation.
07:31Of course, we're going to have planned events and activities.
07:34Everybody needs some time to rest.
07:37Go out and maybe spend a few more hours at a location we were at.
07:41Once we have gotten you an admission somewhere, typically that admission is good for the rest of the day
07:47and often the very next day, too.
07:49So when you have free time, you can go back and enjoy yourselves even more.
07:54Craig and Lucinda are the perfect example of independent travelers who take full advantage of fantasy's flexible approach,
08:04welcoming structure when it's wanted, and spontaneity when the spirit of adventure strikes.
08:09The independence is probably one of the most important aspects to me.
08:15So being able to go off and find the landscapes or landmarks or other people on my own or on our own,
08:25we find that to be probably one of the most enjoyable aspects.
08:30Because they give you days where you can spend the whole day doing it.
08:34Or if you just need to recharge, that day can be used for the two of you doing whatever you want,
08:41whether it be laundry or going out and eating at restaurants you want.
08:45They don't tell you where to go eat or what to do.
08:48They give you a list of some of the locals.
08:50Or you can experience them on your own.
08:52Just stop in.
08:53And I would say that we've always seen the best parts of these communities by doing it this way
09:00versus flying over them and getting with another large group of people that you never really get to know.
09:09While the fantasy itinerary fills its days full to the brim with local flavors and behind-the-scene gems,
09:16the finest beauty can be found in the freedom.
09:19Many suggestions are optional and give RVers the choice to chase their curiosity
09:24by circling back to a special lobster shack, browsing a nearby farmer's market,
09:30or returning to that one lighthouse that's on every maritime traveler's map of must-sees.
09:37I remember was going back to Peggy's Cove.
09:39The weather was terrible.
09:41It was fogged in when we went with a tour group.
09:43But we went back on our own to Peggy's Cove.
09:47And at sunset, or near sunset, and the crowd was basically gone.
09:53It was all beautiful pictures and just memories that you burned into your brain
10:00because you did it on your own and didn't give up on it.
10:07The RVers is made possible by...
10:10RV and Go.
10:11Where will you go?
10:12Escapees RV Club.
10:17A support network for all RVers.
10:20The RVers is made possible by...
10:23I found my place.
10:28And Master Applied Coatings.
10:31After a series of weathered waterfront harbors, the city of Halifax makes a big impact.
10:42And while it's actually Nova Scotia's smallest region, the capital is a vibrant mix of culture,
10:48landmarks, and numerous attractions where one minute you might be exploring interactive exhibits...
10:54Do people do this in real life?
10:56Shh!
10:56And the next, you're elbows deep in fried headache.
11:02So rather than winging it along these busy, narrow streets,
11:05the Fantasy Crew swaps their RV keys for a bus tour to fully navigate the city's complicated charm.
11:13The tour bus that we're on is really fun.
11:19It's something we've never done before.
11:21And it's cool to just be on a massive bus with these great big windows.
11:27You can see everything outside from the comfortability of inside.
11:32And best yet is I don't have to drive.
11:35So that's great.
11:36And our tour guide is sharing things that we would never ever know or look up.
11:41Just regarding the history of the city, fun facts about the city, people coming to visit,
11:47some things about the architecture of the homes.
11:49There's some really impressive hotels that we've seen.
11:53And it's something that, like I said, we've never done, but so far I'm really enjoying it.
11:57From a hilltop fortress to quiet rows of gravestones,
12:04along with museums where stories of heroism are bottled in glass cases and suspended holes,
12:11guests absorb the sights while taking the opportunity to make mental notes of stops to revisit.
12:18As each outing complements the next, an effortless flow between experiences may seem natural,
12:24but it's deliberately designed by the team's skillful balance of information with entertainment,
12:31all bundled into an immersive, one-of-a-kind backstage pass.
12:36So we've done a few excursions that we've had that are exclusive to fantasy RV tours.
12:46We get behind-the-scenes tours in a lot of the museums.
12:52I was going to mention the Atlantic Fisheries Museum.
12:55There and the Maritime Museum.
12:57Those are both behind-the-scenes guided tours that you're not going to get if you go there on your own.
13:02It's all in the package.
13:11While this area is made for wandering boardwalks and beaches,
13:16maritime weather is something of a wild card,
13:19flip-flopping between soaking up sunshine and sprinting for cover.
13:23Luckily, when a rogue rainstorm sabotages any sightseeing for the day,
13:29fantasy flips the script by cranking up the competition
13:32with a spirited tournament of card games and root beer floats to fuel the fun.
13:37The number four of spades.
13:45Four of spades.
13:47One, two, or three.
13:57Number three.
13:58Wow.
13:59How about that?
14:00Twice in a row.
14:00What can I say?
14:01Wow.
14:02Awesome.
14:02That's so loud there.
14:04You're welcome.
14:05The wagon masters have been excellent on this trip, no doubt about it,
14:12and the tail gunners as well.
14:13They're very personable and friendly.
14:15I believe it's an anniversary today.
14:18Woo!
14:19Woo!
14:19Woo!
14:20Woo!
14:20Woo!
14:21Woo!
14:22Woo!
14:22Woo!
14:23Woo!
14:24It's actually tomorrow, but we're all together today.
14:26So one, two, three.
14:28Happy anniversary to you.
14:30Happy anniversary to you.
14:33Happy anniversary to you.
14:37The excitement that they show is unbelievable because they've done this many, many times,
14:51and you would think it would be boring, but it's not to them.
14:53Just your friendly neighborhood bartender.
15:03The RVers is made possible by RV and Go.
15:06Go.
15:07Where will you go?
15:10Your dream RV trip awaits.
15:12Call Fantasy RV Tours today.
15:15The RVers is made possible by...
15:17Now you see it.
15:21Now you don't.
15:23The Aviators, the world's biggest aviation series.
15:31So as a wagon master, you're responsible for the overall tour,
15:35but really a wagon master's job is to coordinate with all of their guests
15:42and make sure all the guests have a great time.
15:44Now, of course there's planning and coordinating that's going on behind the scenes,
15:48but you were there just as a leader to bring everybody together.
15:53What's really amazing is when we do tours and we have repeat guests that have been on a tour with us before,
16:02and yeah, we just love it.
16:04Certainly there's freedom in the open road, but there's also comfort in knowing that you have all of the support when it's needed,
16:21and none of the stress about getting lost or booking a suspicious place to spend the night.
16:27Leave it to a trustworthy team to reserve the sweetest spots and scout out all of the routes to determine which RV parks are magic and which detours are dead ends.
16:38As these phenomenal forces at work spend significant time getting to know each location in order to make a place we've never been before feel both familiar and brand new at the same time.
16:52I've had a lot of guests tell me that they really appreciate the fact that they're traveling in a group.
17:06RVers always tend to be friendly, but when you're on a fantasy tour and we're helping to facilitate that bonding,
17:14one of the things that people have said is it's nice.
17:18So if somebody needs an extra extension of hose to dump or a cord to plug into electricity or whatever,
17:28then they know that somebody in the group is willing to help with that.
17:34They like being able to travel together.
17:37So we are in the lead.
17:40So if there's a new road hazard that we haven't already briefed, then we can relay that back to the group.
17:46So they're expecting it and can avoid it.
17:49And then the tail gunners leaving last and ensuring that everybody makes it safely to the next campground.
18:01If something happens on our journey from campground to campground, because life happens and sometimes things break,
18:08they're going to come up behind you and they're going to help you find the solution to get you back on the road again.
18:15And it's in a critical role on a fantasy tour.
18:20That's mainly the reason I think we decided to do that.
18:24And I'm glad we did it because we traveled a lot on our own.
18:28But going out of the country, so to speak, you know, through Canada and all, we felt like we'd be better to go in a group.
18:35We felt safer about it, you know.
18:37And you feel very safe in these campgrounds that fantasy chooses.
18:46And they try to make them the best that there are in the area.
18:49Very well organized and an easy, convenient way to have a wonderful trip without having to worry about very much.
18:58I mean, you could have a situation where something might go wrong, but you're with a bunch of people that usually you can find a way to bush fix it and get going, you know.
19:08And that's the nice thing about being in a team environment.
19:11You've got all types of talents of different people.
19:15By now, the talents on this trip have established a solid rhythm as a group that keeps the good times on tap and encourages everyone to share in each other's enthusiasm.
19:27Having spent a week exploring what felt like the edge of the world, these companions have found themselves captivated by colors and cobblestone charm strolling through this living museum.
19:40Nevertheless, the road continues to call from across the waves.
19:45Next, maritime RVers board a ferry that pulls them along the Atlantic, leaving behind the vivid dream of painted towns melting into the horizon.
19:55And for good reason, Newfoundland is wide awake and waiting.
20:00It prints.
20:02Look see.
20:03Keep an eye on a side.
20:04Let's see.
