00:00A new study claims to have pinpointed the exact age when fitness and strength go downhill and
00:07you are not gonna like what you hear. We all know that aches and pains are part of aging,
00:14but I never thought over the hill meant 35. Yeah, this is bleak. Researchers have been conducting
00:21this study since before I was born. They followed more than 400 people from the age of 16 to the age
00:28of 63. Participants performed various exercises, bench presses, vertical jumps, cycling, stuff like
00:35that. And this was done in order to measure muscle endurance, power, and aerobic capacity. No matter
00:40how much of a gym rat that these people were in their 20s, cardiovascular endurance and muscle
00:45strength started to deteriorate in their mid-30s across the board. Well, that's depressing. But it
00:52wasn't all bad news, I guess. If you've been good about exercising your whole life, that is. The
00:59study found that people who became physically active early in life had better performance measurements
01:04later in life, even with that 35-year-old decline.
