00:00Today we've seen two really solid bricks and mortar announcements in terms of the transition
00:04actually moving forward in a concrete way. It was only a few months ago we had the collapse of the
00:10offshore wind projects for now anyway and meanwhile we've got you know continual talk about coal-fired
00:16power stations keeping on so overall how would you rate 2025 in terms of the transition? Well I think
00:22the transition is like that you're going to get over a long period of time with a big economic
00:26transition you're going to get a big step forward and you're going to get some setbacks. You're going
00:30to get some things to get a lot cheaper like batteries as we've heard from the chief executive
00:33of HGL today you know one of the reasons they can do this is because the price of batteries has
00:37fallen so much just in the last two years. You're seeing some things that the economics don't work
00:43on time. You know green hydrogen and offshore wind have a great future but the cost curve hasn't come
00:48down as quickly as people predicted two or three years ago. That's the nature of a very complicated
00:53very large transition you take that you take the wins you take the setbacks and you get you keep
00:58going with the job. What's the goal for the next 12 months? To keep going you know we've just had
01:03September was the first month in Australian history that renewables provided more electricity than coal
01:08October was the first month we hit 50% renewables. November was the first time we've had two back-to-back
01:1450% months so October and November about 50% renewables in the NEM. That's what progress looks like
01:19taking four steps, locking it in, building.
