01:08dingle merrily on high today I'm joined by Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley and TV
01:16personality Scarlet Moffat I'm looking forward to it I am as well you know
01:21reason to make my little niece proud bless her how old is she she's seven she
01:26loves it and then you'll be able to do it with her yeah whatever you learn I do
01:31like crafting I think this will be lovely yeah I want to sort of listen to what
01:35Sarah says and I'll be a sponge and and learn from her yeah definitely well you
01:39do a teacher's pet at school me oh yeah I'm so excited for a day of Christmas crafting I've got
01:48me tin salon I'm with Lisa and Sarah what a time to be alive well hello you with northern girls so
01:56we're gonna have an absolute ball yeah it'll be loud definitely loud it will be quiet you'll be
02:01guaranteed of that come on in come on everything my celebrity guests make over the next few weeks
02:12is to transform this beautiful house into a magical Christmas party venue and we're having a little
02:20friendly competition to see which of them does it best right so I need some help I'm throwing a party
02:27here and I'm inviting all of the local people who can't celebrate Christmas on Christmas Day because
02:32they have to work okay so I'm going to need some help decorating the room I'm a bit nervous now
02:38my crafting is minimal but you've done a bit of crafting yeah in the sense that I've got a two
02:43year old so it's like just sticking stuff on paper okay so a bit of kids crafting how about you
02:48word on the street has it not only is Mandy quite the crafter but so is Lisa is that right
02:54yeah Amanda Dingle can make anything but I also love it yeah you do realize you're in competition
03:00today oh are you competitive no not at all are you doing really well at all isn't that nice
03:07should we get started yes right so first thing we're going to do is some decorations for the tree
03:14now here's my absolute delivery have you had a go at pom-poms before no oh yeah you have haven't I sound
03:21like a right Kev Keane don't I that's just it's just listen when I was at girl guides I've just
03:26wanted a full sleeve oh all the badges so yeah I did I did sewing yeah it's very cute you're gonna
03:31love these it's like a cheat way to make pom-poms right so you've got some pom-pom makers you're
03:36gonna need some wool oh I've just got a pack of coloured felt felt a bit of ribbon there oh and
03:44we'll need these just wait you see what we're making right okay so Lisa did you do pom-poms in
03:51the girl guides yeah we made pom-poms yeah but did you do it the old-fashioned way yeah it's cardboard
03:56circle cardboard circle these means you can make a speedy pom-pom yeah okay we like that yeah and
04:03you want to do both of them it's a nice one there you go please miss help me she's got it she's got it
04:08there I mean me a little a student oh no it's not you I'm not competitive glasses are on
04:17right all you do is you take your wool and just wind it round the pom-pom maker oh Lisa's
04:26go flying oh it's only matches my card I want it to look nice it's gonna look really nice it can be
04:32a brooch when I'm done so keep winding you want it nice and full and voluptuous you don't want a
04:39semi-bold pom-pom and I'll fix yours babe keep going yeah keep winding oh my goodness you're doing
04:46good on right I'm taking it seriously oh she's taking it really serious now right now what you're
04:53gonna do when you get to the end of this bit right is we're just going to wind it round and go and do
04:59the other side yeah so you've got half of it done I'll keep going so just wind it over and then you
05:05want the other side oh oh oh so what's the plans for Christmas this year we're gonna be away so we go
05:13to New York oh and I think a Christmas isn't this magic mine's a bit different I'm doing panto oh nice
05:19yeah I love it you know yeah oh I feel like you were made for panto yeah you are I feel like I am
05:25just panto personified I think that's looking great how's yours coming on Lisa I all right so good
05:30should we go for it yeah yeah all you do now is put the two bits of this together you're gonna get
05:36your fancy little scissors and you go in the middle and cush oh oh so just push it all in oh
05:44am I done there that's it yeah all you do then is take a piece of wool and we're gonna wrap it around
05:50the middle tie it all together and then tap just tie it into a really tight knot it's holding it all
05:56together and then you literally just take these off it all comes apart and you'll see yeah oh it's out of
06:05the pom-pom do you know what they actually felt amazing making me first pom-pom it made me remember
06:12why I love crafting so much give it a good fluff gosh you're then gonna get your scissors and you're
06:19gonna give it a nice trim do you know and we're gonna make gonks oh well we're gonna make these into
06:23a gong fab right so I've cut you out a little template for his hat and the hat is gonna go on top of the
06:33long now yes can I have that that neon pink it's very me on your dingle yeah thank you so all you're
06:41doing is literally cutting around it right if you want to hang him up by his hat before you glue your
06:47hat together all you want to do is put a little bit of twine inside so that we've got that nice
06:54little hanger and then I'm just gonna stick this down so you're big you're both big glue gun fans
06:59already are you I love a glue gun I've got friends who are drag queens I know a glue gun yeah yeah see
07:07I do ballroom and Latin dancing and I often store my own dresses because I find it quite therapeutic yeah
07:13I shouldn't have a hole I've got a hole on top of my hat I'm gonna open my little cerise thing up do
07:20you know what it is you just want to line it up edge to edge yeah hold it down thank you it is a
07:25little bit fiddly but once you get it you just add whatever embellishments you want okay so I've
07:32done my little hat I've added a bit of trim oh you've got like your trim on there rustic mine rustic I'm
07:37covering up a disaster that I made there's no disasters here lovely it's artistic license yes
07:44and then what what you'll find is that you want to kind of wedge him into the hat and then this is
07:50why we needed the nose ah yeah and his nice big nose cut there he is oh cute and of course he
07:58doesn't have any eyes or anything because you only see his nose so I'm gonna get like Claudia Winkleman
08:03oh yes I am feeling it with my little gonk there oh cute I've surprised myself yeah I made a little
08:16faux pas with the edge on my hat of my gonk it's lovely to learn and and then have the finished product
08:22you're like so proud of what you've made cute eyes but literally they will look fabulous on the Christmas
08:29tree love it okay so level one pom-poming complete oh right what I thought we'd do now is do a two
08:45tone pom-pom oh okay so I brought you all some brown wool as well oh thank you right and if we do brown on
08:54one side white on the other we'll get Christmas pudding oh that's real oh yeah yeah and you're
09:00going to we're just going to do white on one side and then you'll just cut that off and you'll do the
09:04other side in the brown so we all proper northern here yeah but do you have bread sauce then oh yes
09:10always yeah always yeah gravy no no and also we have to make it but he's a posh yeah 100 I think
09:20people who have bread sauce are proper posh no way friends that have bread sauce I've never been
09:25called right hang on so we should have a multi-colored pom-pom right get you get your lovely little
09:37scissors then oh yeah do the norm bit amazing how much better you get by your second pom-pom isn't
09:43it yeah can be our girl group the pom-poms got a bit of a ring to it yeah right so when you get to
09:51that stage you want a little bit of wool and all you're doing is wrapping it round the middle and once
09:58it's round and then I like to always wrap it around twice or even three times you can't kind of go wrong
10:05but pull it lovely and tight hey who has a Christmas pudding I'm more of a Christmas cake girl I love
10:11the Christmas cake we just buy a dessert and I once bought well it was meant to be a salted caramel
10:17profiterole stack right yes but then it got substituted on me click and click no and they just give us
10:24five chocolate eclairs and stuff and I was like I just stacked five chocolate eclairs and stuff
10:30that was my centrepiece for me is it are you a good cook Scarlett absolutely not I'm horrific
10:38yeah me too I pour the condiments into stuff that's like my that's your idea of cooking
10:44it's not doing it right I say oh yeah you just need to take it apart thank you there you go thank
10:53you very much look it look it the more the more fluff and you get the better it's going to look
10:58all right oh no I've realized oh no you didn't do it right hold it tight let me see if it can be
11:10salvaged it looks like me looks like noodles I did say I'll tune off didn't I hold it let's see what we can
11:21do yeah right right do you think do you think we can yeah it's artsy it's artsy oh that's lovely
11:28see it's molten a bit but that's all right I mean yeah if you can fashion that in doing Christmas pudding
11:35that's legit what my cooking looks like I mean exhibit B it's definitely got charm hasn't it right
11:45there's a bit of felt there and cut out some holly leaves all right on the top of yeah just a bit
11:50of freehand holly leaf cutting do I glue gun these on and then we'll just glue gun them on yeah do
11:56you know what I think you've salvaged that really really given the disaster that we had I think
12:02you've really pulled that back to life I think I do you know I genuinely do I think the less we say
12:08about my Christmas pudding the better and emphasis on the taken part is what counts
12:13look at that it's cute oh I love she's got home hello my little baba mine's certainly not perfect
12:20you know um but yeah when I go home me and Evelyn my niece we're definitely going to be making a pudding
12:25and a gonk that's for sure well I think our little pom poms look fab and with the little gonks as well
12:32so you feel suitably eased into the craft now I feel like I'm on a lilo I'm floating I hope you're not
13:00too zen though because we've got a lot of crafts to get through okay I need the showstopper piece
13:05I need a fabulous big staff at the top of the tree nice and I thought if we need a star let's do a six
13:11point origami star and we're just going to do it out of squares of paper you make it sound so easy
13:17it's going to be dead easy the only big decision you need to make are you going glittery card
13:22or gold card oh matte or glitter can I go glitter please I'm like I am a mag pile of anything that's
13:29back you're going to need six layers glitter thank you I'm going to go glitter as well you're going to
13:33go glitter well in that case then I'll go matte gold now bear in mind we're going to do the same fold
13:39six times right are we ready yes over we go and I want you to go diagonally point to point
13:46and then give it a nice crease right so once we're open we're going to put the diagonal in front of us
13:57and I want you to fold one of the points in to the middle to line up with that fold line
14:04oh yeah you got it and do the same with the other side take it into the middle to meet it
14:11right the bottom piece folds over like that doesn't have to be exact exact as it
14:20and then this outer point comes into the middle like this
14:29that's it and again and again she's flying through it now
14:37closet origami over here what do you call them origami
14:42origami's origami's origami's origami's origami's yeah very nice that is the first point on our star
14:51that's it right now you've perfected it I need six of them hey do you think you'll put the star on
14:57the top of your tree then what have you got on the top of your tree at the moment I'm an angel
15:01gown yeah did you make it or buy it do you know what it is actually made from like when I was a kid
15:07oh you've still got it yeah right keep it going I'll tell you what she's good in here and then can you
15:14do you make your own envelopes oh yes so I invented a product called the enveloper so all these crafters
15:22make their own cards and then make an envelope with my envelope holding bars what's amazing that
15:26isn't it I'm dead proud of this but when I received my MBE I walked up to Prince William and he just
15:31looked us and he went mind that enveloper that's something isn't it and I just think if I could go
15:36back and relive that moment in my life I wish I'd said like easy grandma into making handmade
15:40oh Lisa's at the next one oh it's not a competition Lisa do you know what I'm just thinking like
15:49it's just not a speedy competition no so have you shot the Emmerdale Christmas special yet
15:54uh yes yes so um there's loads of drama coming up no no yes but they're always really fun days to
16:02shoot yeah oh yeah I'm always the naughty one though I am if there's any like prop food on the
16:06table when one of the characters is not looking I'll probably plonk something in and go and action
16:11and they'll go and then they'll they'll mess the lines up because there's there'll be a sprout in
16:15the room after all these years I still haven't grown up and I still find things like that funny
16:21have you got all six of yours done all six so first thing you want to do is put some glue in this
16:28bit here so that they stick right so both of these that little triangle in the middle
16:34I'm going to pass a little bit of glue in there and stick them so we just fold my done that right
16:42oh right yeah that's not stuck together there no that's perfect all right so here's the thing when
16:46you've got the six of them we're going to stick them on top regions if you get glue into this part
16:51down here right so if I get glue into that triangle there and then I can bring the next one you see
16:58and glue the next one on top of it and you've got that little bit of maneuverability time before the
17:05glue sets like that that that's it and then we just go on with the next one and it'll just line on top
17:17okay that's going on yeah right and then because we're going to put it on the top of the tree
17:26notice I've been saving the toilet roll hold yeah all we're going to do is wrap it in a bit of
17:32glitter card and then just attach this in the bottom so this is I guess more of the construction kind of
17:38crafting we're doing now she's going in she's going in ready for the top of the tree but you could see
17:46how you could make two of those and put them back to back and just hang them in the corner
17:50couldn't yeah oh lovely yeah I think I need something for the middle because I've got that
17:55gap haven't I but hey I said over it at least thank you mama craft all we need to do is just
18:01angle them round a little bit yeah it's looking a bit more even now yeah that's better looks good
18:07from here thank you mama craft lovely love it keep you right the origami was really good fun
18:13and something that you might look at initially and go that's really hard once you got into the
18:17process and you know what's coming next the detail was there and it was really simple
18:21oh that's so cute how are you getting on there Scarlett I think good you know I've got my little
18:27toilet roll in yes honestly I am now going to save all of my toilet roll holders because who knew the
18:35things that you can make in fact not that we've got a limit on our house but I'm going to say to
18:39Scott you have free rain now you don't have to just 10 ply it have as much as you want because
18:44I need those toilet roll holders right this isn't enough so I thought we could have some little
18:52shooting stars coming off the side nice stick with it okay
18:57right got rid of all of that mess are we ready for the shooting starness ready yes okay I've been
19:12making air dry clay but I've made a measure of all each so if you have like half a cup of baking soda
19:17half a cup of corn flour then add three quarters of a cup of water stir it on the hob it'll start to
19:24bubble soon as it's boiling turn it down keep stirring it it'll all come together like a door
19:30and then just popped it in a bowl damp tea towel over the top let it cool down and just keep in the
19:35fridge wow and the great thing is you can make all sorts so you could make tree ornaments out of it
19:40we're going to do some stars for some decorations and you can just leave them to air dry for a couple
19:46of days or you can pop them in the oven on low right okay if you're worried about rolling it out by
19:50the way I've got a bit of corn flour here so just just a little bit of corn flour down then it'll roll
19:54out and come off easily so here's the thing you don't want to roll it out so thin that your pieces
20:00are flimsy but you want to roll it thin enough that you're not waiting an eternity for it to
20:04harden and I've got some little stars here I might do some medium-sized ones and all you're doing is
20:11cutting out your stars and then they'll just harden now you can either bake them in the oven for like
20:1945 minutes to an hour or if you leave them out in the air they'll just take 48 hours so what I did
20:25was a couple of days ago I cut us a load of stars out and I've had them drying for a couple of days
20:31now let's just put them down on the floor to start and dry and I'll get you me ones out there I've got
20:35us ready thank you and so in true Sarah style here are some I prepared earlier all right so get
20:44plenty of little stars so I've got some nice gold paint so passes your little paint pot over some nice
20:50gold paint and we can just sit and do a bit of paint so what is your favorite memory of Christmas from
20:56being a kid being at my grandma and granddad's oh like so early in the morning and all I ever wanted
21:03was the gymkhana from my little pony it was like my dream and I can really remember it like it was
21:10the best Christmas ever that's so cute mine is so every year we would go to my nanny and pappy's and
21:19there'd be loads of us and when you were a kid you were only allowed a bowl because they didn't want
21:25to like spill the gravy yeah and I remember being 12 and getting upgraded to a plate oh and I know
21:33that sounds really pathetic right but I literally remember me pappy bringing a plate out and I was like
21:39for me oh yeah and I was like I'm an adult you are right so if we leave them to dry now we're gonna
21:48make them shoot of our tree topper okay so I've got some just some nice big thick wire and it is as
21:56simple as taking the bottle and wrapping it around the bottle okay lift that off and then this will attach
22:05up here and then we can glue our stars on now you've made that look really easy right get twizzling
22:12three twizzle a bit twizzling and it's you see it's aluminium wire that's why it's got that little bit
22:18of give on it and then you'll just be gluing them just into there like okay so I'm putting the glue
22:25inside the cardboard yeah yeah yeah and then that you see that because the thing is as well if you want
22:30to give the glue plenty of time to set are you are you putting three or just two I'm gonna put three
22:36on yeah I think I might just have one do you think yeah just one of them on you're going chic I'm going
22:42yeah I'm going minimal oh shizzing right is it yeah oh the twizzles are twizzling where's my stars
22:51there's your stars I was drying nicely oh yeah and I would just put little bits of glue on because you
22:57only need a little bit for it to to grab and if it's too big you're holding it for ages oh no this
23:02is mint look how good these are I know oh I'm well I am so impressed with this and the way it's lifted
23:10it from it being the star but this has just made it into something really spectacular yeah I'm really
23:16really proud of my tree topper and the process of going oh we're making stars oh we're making twizzles
23:23oh we're seeing all the origami together and then all of a sudden these three processes became one
23:29really great end result I loved it I'm so proud I can't wait to put that up home I actually think
23:35mine looks mint you know it does yeah you said it was like real shock oh you've dropped one of your
23:43stars I've dropped a star you can't drop a star so please tell me this is going to make a pride of
23:49place on top of the tree this year definitely spot two wasn't it yes I love it
23:55we all love serving something a bit special at Christmas so I'm about to whip up a festive
24:12little treat that proves pine corns aren't just for the tree right I'm gonna make Lisa and Scarlett a
24:21lovely little treat and I'm gonna do pine corn truffles now we're gonna start off with some dark
24:27colored biscuits into a blender we're going to take them down to a breadcrumb consistency
24:32now if you don't have a blender you can always just do it with a rolling pin I was just popping
24:46in a little plastic bag and and crush them down and then I'm gonna add just a few tablespoons of room
24:53temperature cream cheese and we're just going to bring it all together you want it in like a thick paste
25:00consistency I'm going to take a big tablespoon and just form it into a nice pine corn shape now I'm
25:17going to take them one at a time just make sure they're corny enough and then I've just got some
25:26little chocolate crispy cereal and then I'm just going to lift them up into shape and I think they
25:49look fabulous just a little dusting for the top and then the only problem with these beautiful
25:57pine corn truffles they just look a little bit too good to be eaten oh I feel like the hostess with
26:11the most that's coming in with the tree I told you I made you a treat yeah so and you're vegan aren't
26:16yeah yeah so it's just vegan cream cheese for yours mushed up biscuits yeah yeah and then these are
26:23little bits of cereal oh mmm good enough for our guests do you reckon beyond you thought we were
26:30quiet with a therapeutic painting now I'm silent with this and it looked really like pine cones it
26:34look brilliant right come on we've got plenty of crafting still to get going okay so we've got the top of
26:39the tree sorted we're now going to work collaboratively to do the bottom now I know
26:44when we say tree skirt you think of like a fabric skirt however I've got a vision I thought if we all
26:50work together on a gingerbread village so I've got some old cardboard boxes and I thought if we had a
26:57little bit each and I thought if we do a couple of little houses connect them all together they'll go
27:04under the Christmas tree oh that's cute right these are paint pens so it's just acrylic paint in a pen
27:11you can do one big house you can do two little houses you can do a wide one and a skinny one you
27:16do whatever you want I'm gonna see how it goes I'm feeling a bit Bridgerton-y oh yeah oh yeah okay
27:22yeah yeah they look really good when you've got like different shaped houses and roofs
27:27how are your painting skills Scarlett do you know what I enjoy creative stuff I'm not very good at it
27:39but I don't think that particularly matters it brings me joy so I just think that's what a lot of
27:43people forget is that it really isn't about having to be good at something no I always think a little bit
27:49wrong is always right yes you know just strive to be you know do what you do yeah who's a fan of
27:58the Christmas markets oh yeah yeah I was so lucky to go to Germany as well the German to the German
28:05I absolutely love all the Scandi decorations yeah I love the Christmas market I love tackiness
28:12tackiness oh I love it one thing I can promise you my house is this one's well tacky I like what
28:19you've done with the bricks I think I'm gonna copy that my bricks yeah thanks if you're gonna cut the
28:27windows out the great thing is I've got some backlights that we can then use oh very cute to just
28:34light it up I mean I'll be honest I did think I was a bit better than yeah me too I feel like
28:43my GCSE art has just gone right out of the way yeah and you might have done this but to cut your
28:49windows out poke it in from the center and then cut to the outside and then you're just connecting the
28:55cut pieces well I haven't done that but I shall be doing that don't forget you've got to cut your roof
29:00out as well I'm making candy cane curtains inside candy cane curtains yeah look at that I've used two
29:10bits of the macrame yarn and just a little bit of gold so that I can just plot that and make it
29:18into like a little bit of a garland and then I'll do another one to make a little bit of a wreath as
29:22well here we are rolling our own little world aren't we this reminds me of when when we'd do
29:32goggle box my dad would be like can you be quiet I'm trying to watch the telly and I'd be like they
29:36literally can't make a show without us talking to us a little bit because mine looks horrendous it doesn't
29:46this is going to be an outhouse I'm going to make Bronte can I kind of change my theme yeah
29:52like not Bridgetton anymore we all got a bit Bronte yeah rustic we're using that word a lot today yes
29:58yeah gosh this is so fun yeah probably like I haven't done anything like this in ages do you know
30:05what I actually feel like I'm more arty than I thought because I really got into like drawing the
30:11house and painting and cutting out and yeah I just feel like a kid again I've got all sorts over
30:17you know I've got some berries if you want to oh I might put a couple of little trees outside of mine
30:22I'm just gonna cover everything in glitter please may I have some that gold card please may I have I
30:28don't know what I'm gonna do with it but I'm gonna stick it on quite like the thought I'm putting it in
30:32the house in the house of Bronte tat but gingerbread house was should we say unique yes it was
30:38definitely unique it just went in different stages I knew what I wanted it to be then it
30:43went somewhere went somewhere else and then it went on the motorway that no one even knows where
30:47you'll end up someone who doesn't drink that looks like I've had six bottles of brandy well I
30:58think it's looking I think it is as well are you enjoying yourself I'm having the time of my life
31:03day that's all that matters could we cut that up as well oh bit of that Bob some of that on oh
31:08yeah when in Rome I don't know what I'm even making anymore oh my gosh so I have to ask then do you have
31:17a big party like I get Emmerdale wrap party when you wrap up for Christmas yes yeah yeah oh I bet
31:24there's all sorts goes on is there oh yes but what stays at the Emmerdale party yes it's a it's carnage
31:30and yeah you can always guarantee there'll be a lot of tales the following day oh yes yeah oh oh
31:35yes it could be a car wash sometimes things don't have to make sense and this doesn't but it's
31:43making me happy interpretive art exactly hey yeah what she said interpreted art we're gonna see this
31:50on the walls of the Tate gallery being auctioned off for 17 mil the Bronte tatty house
31:57I mean it's like a street we know you know Sarah's was beautiful old gorgeous and then
32:05Scarlett's was dainty in the middle and in my house was just a little bit mayhem so I was embracing
32:10my inner dingle oh Lisa yes thank you I mean that is just something else it looks like a four year old
32:21but you know what I'm proud of it let's have a look Scarlett oh it's looking good yeah yeah and
32:34then I've got look at that yours is like Harrods yeah yeah we are a craft shame free zone and Lisa's
32:44house I don't care what anyone says it was wonderful and then attach yours to Lisa's with
32:49a glue gun don't be embarrassed where's your flap oh where's your flap you might have to slap it on
32:55that side because she's missing a flap it's all right do we just glue your flap if you just put glue
33:00oh yeah that was me being still but no it wasn't she has cut her flap off but it still looks good
33:07oh I mean that's gorgeous right please this needs to be illuminated I've got some light
33:19like this needs to be illuminated really does what do we do just pop it a bit of glue gun oh hey me
33:29guests are not gonna know what's it literally literally are you ready for the moment of truth
33:36the great Christmas lights with the table for the lights are we ready I think our little street looks
33:48amazing and it will look fabulous under the Christmas tree but I'm not done crafting with
33:53you yet okay I've got one last amazing make for you we're gonna make a lovely present for some more
33:59we all love a cup of hot chocolate in the winter but I've got a way to make it a bit more Christmassy
34:20now I happen to know that Lisa loves a bit of gingerbread so I thought we'd make our own gingerbread
34:27syrup so we'll start off by making a basic sugar syrup so it's 300 ml of boiling water and 450 grams
34:36of sugar now you want about one and a half tablespoons of the ground ginger and I'm just
34:43going to add two cinnamon sticks so that that cinnamon infuses in there as well as we bring that all to the
34:49boil now once you see that starting to come to the boil we're just going to turn the temperature right
34:57down nice and low and let that just simmer away for 10 minutes oh yes plenty of time to infuse and we just
35:13want to take out those cinnamon sticks now once that's had time to cool you just want to transfer it
35:20into a jar well will you look at that there's a bit left over well if ever there was an excuse to give
35:30it a try right I'll get some milk frost and you want to leave plenty of room for the syrup now I like it quite strong so I'm going for quite a bit there and then we'll make it look all fancy
35:44so I'm just adding a couple of little bits of crushed gingerbread mine and now a little fella just goes in there he is cute as oh it's like Christmas in a cup
35:59did it oh look at me I thought you might be ready for a little pick me up oh always right I've made us all he's yours lovely I've made a gingerbread syrup oh so you could have it in latte you could have it in a hot chocolate I've just put us them in a hot milk oh I have a little gingerbread to go on it a little gingerbread thank you very much thank you thank you lovely I'm dying to know what you think
36:27oh it just tastes of Christmas yes vegan milk for you gorgeous that's really nice that yeah that is nice gorgeous there's our gingerbread hot milk just to keep us going on to the last craft I'm excited well I'm super excited I think you're going to absolutely love it now I've got some glass plates so anything that's clear glass we're going to be able to do this technique with
36:55now do you know what decoupage is I think I do go on because I've actually watched you do this oh and I have give it a go it's like where you transfer whatever pattern
37:05is on like a napkin onto stuff yes you're doing your own oh right we're going to start with the gold leafing first
37:15okay well I'm I'm saying gold there's gold there's silver I suppose it depends on what napkin you're going to use
37:22so I'm going to do I think I'm going to use this one I love a poinsettia at Christmas
37:26I'm going to go gold and silver please yeah I need to calm it down a bit after after the house
37:31I'll go this then I'll go like at the little footprint
37:35nice right so you see what we're going to be doing is we're going to be having the plate
37:40it's going to have the pattern on by the end of it nice but what we're going to do first of all
37:45is put a little bit of that gold or silver leafing around the outside okay in your little paint
37:52palettes I've popped in a little bit now this is gilding glue you don't need much
37:58so when it's blue it's no good you can't add the flakes you need to wait for it to go clear
38:05anybody feeling ready for the gilding flakes going on there is no right or wrong way and just tap
38:17yeah just tap so look at this you see you're just putting it on and then you can use like a little
38:22sponge to dab it on like this um scared see this is when this is when I go mayhem because oh yeah
38:29it's all sparkly yeah that's good so put plenty on don't be sparing with it because then you can
38:38always tap the excess off I've gilded me up you girl she's gilded the arm there we go oh this is so
38:49nice yeah once you start with the gilding clay that's it now in it this is my life there'll be
38:54no stopping you is this expensive no no couple of quid for a pot oh yeah oh my old house is getting
39:01gilded from the eye to the bottom gilded I love a bit of gilding I never knew I did love gilding
39:10but I do I just want to gold flake everything now honestly my partner is going to come in and
39:15my child is going to be gilded all that that's good you know looks fabulous right so have you
39:26got your napkin that you're going to use mine's already round but it's a bit too big so we're
39:29going to do the little trick where we just cut it to the right size for the plate so if you fold it
39:35into quarters lay it across the edge now do cut it a little bit bigger than what you need
39:41but can you see you're just going to cut it so when we open it out it's still going to be too
39:47big for the plate but not a square oh okay yeah thank you very much very clever is that right so now
39:57I that is it so make sure it's right in the middle though okay open it and just double check oh no I've
40:04got two pieces you use I did exactly what you said what happened I think you probably folded it
40:14like this oh right so we've got all the folded bits in the middle now trim it for you around here thank
40:19you success yeah yeah right to do it there we go now actually you know when you get tissues and a
40:28two ply or three ply or whatever that's how many layers of tissue there are and what you want to do
40:33is peel away the back layers or the back layer might only be one layer so that you're left with only
40:40just that one layer that's got the print on there we go then ah there you go you've had a couple of
40:47layers yeah what we're going to do is I've watered down some pva to make it a little bit runnier we're
40:52going to put a layer all over the background but then I want you to be really careful because when we put
40:57this down you don't want your pva to be too thick because if it soaks into here it will start damaging
41:03our napkin so you see you've tried this before scarlet yeah on candles I think I put too much glue on
41:12because the napkin just sort of stuck to the candle so you need to watch this amazing craft show that's
41:18coming out at Christmas yeah where I teach people how to do stuff and oh is that the one we're on now
41:23is that the one we're on now do you do that sound for them I genuinely just like don't know I would
41:31watch that yeah you go back and watch last week oh how to melt it into the surface oh well thank you
41:37all right and then once again then it should go and stick down yeah I can feel that starting to
41:45stick now that's it all right it's a bit creased it's all right no you won't see it oh you're not
41:55okay okay I'm staying so now what I want you to do is get a bit more of your pva glue be really
42:01careful not to damage your napkin just a nice thick layer on top so that it'll all seep in can
42:16you see I'm just giving my little it presses it in really nicely now once that's a bit touch dry
42:27you should be able to see your pattern on there yes looking good yeah but it's a bit translucent
42:34isn't it yeah at the end of the day it's only one layer of napkin so what you're going to do is
42:39we're going to paint over the background so I've got just a little bit of acrylic paint okay so give
42:46yourself a squirt and pass it on thank you I'm going to go home and I'm going to gild some plates
42:52the fact that I've learned something and I want to pass it on as well and certainly show my family
42:56they're going to be really impressed and remember we're on top of a napkin so just go gentle but
43:05what this will do is it'll give it an opaque background I won't eat my tea on this every
43:10night yeah I'm proud that we've made yeah now it might not look quite dry yet but you know if we
43:20leave it a couple of hours it'll be perfectly dry but it'll be enough to see the effect I can promise
43:25that this is really cool oh yes see what it's made with the paint behind it yeah that looks
43:35absolutely incredible oh I'm thrilled with those yeah I'm buzzing oh we've been amazing we have I'm
43:41proud of they will be perfect for me serving up my little canapes and my pine cones I thought we
43:48should raise a glass to the crafting divas that we are I am supposed to choose a winner at this stage
43:56overall I think Scarlett you've been on quite the journey today and so you are definitely going to
44:05be my crafty queen for the day oh thank you honestly what a wonderful day I mean I'm literally covered in
44:13paint in gilding stuff in gold flag I feel so Christmassy I feel like I'm going to be walking
44:19away from here just yeah singing Michael Boo play but Lisa that tree topper is something else
44:27that tree topper is going to take pride of place in our tree in here it's Lisa's tree topper that's
44:34won the day cheers cheers today has been so beautiful it was literally like this it was like
44:41a wave of like we were we were learning and then things went a bit wrong but they went wrong and then
44:45we had such a laugh it was great and that that was the best thing about it having such a laugh and
44:49yet at the end of it we've made some really lovely things to Christmas to Christmas happy Christmas
45:04next time it's like magic that's how you get a perfect four
45:10do mine two more celebrity crafters help with the final decorations the double bow I mean that's
45:19blown me out of the water right there and it's Christmas party time Merry Christmas Merry Christmas
45:34you
