Police have subdued a man who claimed to be carrying a gun outside a New Taipei metro station. It came a day after a deadly smoke grenade and stabbing attack at two Taipei metro stations sent shockwaves throughout the country.

00:04metro station on Saturday.
00:06When police approached him to investigate, he started fighting with them and officers
00:10had to subdue him.
00:11He is being investigated for public intimidation.
00:14This comes just one day after a smoke grenade and random stabbing attacks at two other stations
00:18left four people dead, including the attacker, and injured a dozen others.
00:22So far, there is no proof of connection between these two incidents.
00:25Taipei Mayor Zhang Wan-an has ordered more police to deploy in the city ahead of upcoming holiday
00:30events.
