Gilas motivated to beat Thailand amid attempts to 'weaken' team, says Bolick  Robert Bolick says that Gilas Pilipinas was motivated to beat home team Thailand whose repeated tinkering of the eligibility rules for players hampered Gilas’ preparations and "weakened" the Philippine team. Gilas beat Thailand in the final, 70-64, at the Nimibutr Stadium on Dec. 19, 2025 to retain the gold medal at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games men’s 5-on-5 basketball.
