00:00The daughter of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is calling on her dad's boss,
00:04that would be President Trump, as well as DHS Secretary Kristi Noem to abolish the TSA.
00:09Okay, I know they're not the warmest and fuzziest of federal employees,
00:13but what prompted Evita Duffy Alfonso to lash out? Well, she posted on X, quote,
00:18I nearly missed my flight this morning after the TSA made me wait 15 minutes for a pat down
00:22because I'm pregnant and didn't feel like getting radiation exposure from their body scanner.
00:27She went on to call the agents passive aggressive and rude. I mean, that tracks. And that they
00:33pressured her to walk through the scanner anyway. She then called the TSA an unconstitutional agency
00:39that makes travelers feel like they're terrorists in their own country. Well, if she doesn't like
00:43waiting for 15 minutes to go through security, she better not fly through Oakland, San Francisco
00:48Bay Airport. The lines there could soon be very long and include a bunch of people who weren't
00:55flying anywhere. This week, the Bay Area Travel Hub announced that it would be introducing guest
01:01passes for non-passengers. You see, before 9-11, non-travelers accompanying their loved ones
01:07all the way to the gate was totally commonplace. After the terror attacks, though, security tightened
01:13and the practice was basically banned. This reintroduction is not without red tape, though.
01:18Visitors will still need to apply for clearance seven days in advance and will be subject to the
01:24same exact TSA clearance that Duffy Alfonso is railing against, the same ones we all go through.
01:30Oakland now joins the likes of Cleveland, Philadelphia, Kansas City, and San Antonio,
01:34who are also dipping their toes back into the practice.
