00:00Charlie McEvoy the other day with really a whopper of a comment.
00:05What are your thoughts, man?
00:06When I heard it, I went, whoa, particularly at the beginning.
00:10I'm going to tread lightly because there are some guys that aren't here anymore
00:13that I really love to death.
00:16Well, I mean, what's the first name that pops to your mind?
00:18Marchand.
00:19How could you think of anybody but?
00:22So I think he's basically telling you that Marchand was a divisive force
00:27at the beginning of that season, whether it was because he was burying Swayman
00:31or pissed about his own contract, some combination of the two,
00:35and the team never got off the ground.
00:38Lindholm was new, and I'm talking about Elias Lindholm.
00:40Obviously, Zdorov was new, and so it just created a really bad culture
00:45at the beginning of the season.
00:46He didn't name names, but that's how I took it.
00:49Murray, you want to weigh in?
00:50Yeah, I think it's 100%.
00:51It's Marchand.
00:52And, look, we all are around here, but if I had to just go with my gut here,
00:56maybe Marchand really liked Montgomery.
01:00I think we all can agree that he didn't like the goalie last year,
01:03and once they ended up firing Montgomery and he didn't like the goalie
01:07in the first place, maybe he became a real pill in the locker room,
01:09and that was part of a problem.
01:10Like you said, kind of really divisive there.
01:12You mean Marchand really liked the coach that came up to him behind the bench
01:16the third week of the season and physically pushed him?
01:20All right, yeah, there is that too, yeah.
01:22You mean that?
01:24So I hated the comment.
01:41All right.
