00:00You have a game versus the Raiders on Sunday at NRG Stadium.
00:04Apparently, it's the holiday game.
00:05Did you realize that?
00:06Yeah.
00:06Hey, they're going to have the toddler races at halftime.
00:09Did you see that?
00:09Oh, man.
00:10Who doesn't love a good toddler race?
00:12I love it.
00:13You talk about the Instagram feed and what it feeds you or whatever,
00:16your TikTok feed or whatever.
00:18Anytime I see like a baby race or something.
00:21I'm going to see if they need like a standby.
00:23My grandbaby can pick them up and put them down, man.
00:26Yeah.
00:27She's taller, too.
00:27No, no, the baby.
00:28Oh, the baby baby.
00:29The boy, yeah.
00:30Oh, J.J.
00:30Yeah, yeah, J.J., he's a crawling fool right now.
00:34I don't know why that saying it that way makes you crack up.
00:39But, yes, okay, yeah, see if you can get a baby boy in there.
00:42That'd be fantastic.
00:43A question I've just been sitting with pursuant to this football game
00:46versus the Las Vegas Raiders.
00:48Is it possible that the Texans do something they haven't done in a while
00:51or depending on how you view it?
00:52Open the roof?
00:53In a while.
00:53Well, I don't even know.
00:56They're not doing that, right?
00:57No, God, no.
00:57We're talking about.
00:58God, no.
00:59We're talking about weather in the, what, 60s?
01:0260s.
01:02Perfect weather to open the roof.
01:03I guess.
01:04I didn't mean to hijack it.
01:06No, I was like, hey, it's a conversation always.
01:09No, the thought is, could you effectively end a career Sunday?
01:13Mm-hmm.
01:13Explain.
01:13Geno Smith, the quarterback of the Raiders.
01:16It does seem like he will play this week after missing last week
01:19dealing with injuries.
01:19Kenny Pickett went for them.
01:22But he is 35 years of age, if memory serves.
01:26And this has been a rough season after him returning to form as a bona fide
01:31starter in the National Football League.
01:33Remember him with the Seahawks under Pete Carroll.
01:36And he looked very good.
01:38He looked like one of the best deep passers in the league.
01:41And on paper, coming into the season with him, you know, him not necessarily
01:44finding what he wanted with Seattle, I thought that this was going to be a
01:47great opportunity for him to be maybe the half step back and where the people
01:51may have thought he was before as like a stopgap type quarterback.
01:54And it just hasn't looked very good for them.
01:58Now, a good amount of that, or some of that at the very least, is that offensive
02:01line for the Raiders is M-A-L-O bad.
02:04It's one of the, if not the worst in the league, especially on the interior,
02:08it is very bad.
02:09But he himself has not looked like the best version of himself to the point where
02:12he's getting mad at all the criticism coming at him, talking about, oh man,
02:16if anything goes wrong in your life, just blame it on Geno.
02:18Is it possible that this could be the one that, like this could be a game where,
02:24especially considering the way that this defense is as a whole, but this defense
02:27in front in particular is, that could just make it so that the Geno thing, even with
02:32them having, you know, him under contract for the next couple of years, it's just
02:35like, hey, they have to do something different.
02:36Yeah, the final straw.
02:38Yeah, well, basically in essence, what happened to Tua.
02:41You know, I don't expect Geno to be having conversations with Derek Stingley after the
02:47game on the field, you know, yucking it up like Tua, that was a bad look for him.
02:51But yeah, kind of like what happened to him.
02:54I absolutely could see it.
02:56I was sitting here trying to think of have the Texans, who the Texans have done that
03:00to maybe this year or with this defense in previous years, but no, I could absolutely
03:05see that happening.
03:06Yeah, that's one of the things that I'm looking, because I'm, you know, we're trying
03:09to get our heads around what this football game could look like.
03:12And this one feels kind of like last week where you come in and you're like, all right,
03:15there's some things that that team has.
03:17It's an NFL team.
03:18You talk about Brock Bowers.
03:20You talk about Ashton Jensey as a runner.
03:23You talk about Max Crosby.
03:25But as a team, collectively, not talking about individuals, there's not a lot of things I'm
03:30afraid of.
03:30So it's like, all right, what could this Texas team do to them?
03:33And this is one of the very early things is like, they could just finish this Geno thing
03:37up.
03:38Like this could be effectively the place where we look up and we go, yeah, that Geno thing
03:41is like completely done.
03:43Because I don't know where the Raiders are staying in the moment.
03:46I think it's, he's still a viable option.
03:49He's under contract next year.
03:50Maybe they're continuing to actually put their mind in a real development state as opposed
03:54to last year where they thought that they could jumpstart this, but it might be entirely
03:58untenable if the Texans do to him what I think is possible.
04:01Well, I think is probable, you know, the, probably you say, yeah, I think it's probable.
04:05You're not, you're not, he's already on thin ice.
04:07You're not worried at all about the last few times that we're like, oh, this is the time
04:11where the Texans have 10 sacks and then it ends up not looking that way.
04:14No, I'm really not because the offensive line is so bad for the Raiders and Geno is, his
04:20head is spinning and they have literally the worst offense in the NFL DFL.
04:26I mean, is Geno playing for sure?
04:28Not for sure, but it's looking that way.
04:30It's looking that way.
04:31Well, I don't, I saw the Texans injury report.
04:33I didn't see theirs, what he was listed, but he's, it's looking as if he will play.
04:38Hell, either or.
04:39Yeah.
04:40The Texans are going to eat.
04:41Mm-hmm.
04:42When you talk about, maybe what was the last time that the Texans might have done that?
04:46Would you consider Anthony Richardson when he had, when he had to tap his helmet like,
04:51hey man, I need a break.
04:51Yeah.
04:52I need to, I need to sit down for a moment.
04:54That was a big story.
04:55That was their final straw.
04:56So, uh, I, I don't know if he started the next week, but it was soon thereafter.
05:01It was, he was, he was effectively done.
05:03Yeah.
05:03I think there's been people making the case that, especially with the news of the Wituataloa,
05:08and I didn't say this on air, is not only not going to start, he's the third quarterback.
05:13All right.
05:14So it's, uh, it's Quinn Ewers as the starter.
05:17And then they're going to have, was it Zach Wilson as the, as the backup?
05:20Yeah.
05:20I forgot he was there.
05:21Yeah.
05:22Buddy.
05:22Well, his mom's going to make an, his mom's going to reappear in shape.
05:25All right.
05:26No, she is very good.
05:28I surprised, I surprised Quinn Ewers passed up Zach, um, Zach Wilson like that.
05:32Um, but Tua talking about Loa, you talk about, you know, seeing the, the, the entire fall off.
05:39He had been viable as a starter, which I don't want us to be, you know, do revisionist history
05:44in the larger NFL context of, oh man, Tua was just flat out bad.
05:49He'd been viable at times within the circumstances and the offense that Mike McDaniel built for him.
05:53And then teams figured out, oh, we could take that away.
05:57And there was just no adjustment for, you know, the limitations that he has.
06:00Well, when you talk about teams figuring out, it was the Texans that really showed that in
06:04a big way that, oh, this is, this is DUN done.
06:07Yeah.
06:07Yeah.
06:07Here.
06:08Yeah.
06:08No, it absolutely wasn't.
06:10And I, and I feel, but Gino, it, the writing's on the wall.
06:13I think the writing's on the wall for Pete Carroll.
06:15I think they're going to find a soft landing for him.
06:17And you think so?
06:17Yeah.
06:17And just completely, uh, change.
06:20They're not going to like necessarily fire him unless they have to, but I think there's
06:24going to be a soft exit, you know, a comfortable exit, so to speak, uh, for Pete Carroll and
06:29they're just going to redo everything.
06:30And the Texans could go a long way toward doing that on Sunday.
06:33Yeah.
06:34I'm, I'm excited for that portion of it.
06:36But, uh, anything within you, cause we just got a text in from the 713, uh, making note
06:41of the fact that the Texans haven't had quote, our annual mid to below average quarterback
06:45go off on us game, uh, which I guess fair, is there any, is there any possibility in
06:53your mind that either this one is that game for you or that any of the final three, well,
06:58I guess, I don't know how you view, uh, Justin Herbert.
07:00I'm thinking, no, that would be the one, uh, one of those games, not that he, I mean, he's
07:03a good quarterback.
07:04He's better than what the texter said, but I could see where that would be the one where
07:07maybe Herbert goes off.
07:09Uh, and, and that would, and it's in LA and they have been, you know, they've been playing
07:13okay, Texans feeling pretty good about the playoffs.
07:17I could see where that would be the one.
07:18Yeah.
07:18This has been, this has been a, uh, a season of exercise and demons.
07:21That could be one that you get off of your back a little bit.
07:24The idea that every year you're going to have somebody play above their play above their,
07:28uh, head against the Texans.
07:30Maybe not this year.
