00:20Glenn Ficarra and John Riqua,
00:22directors and executive producers of the hit NBC drama This Is Us,
00:26and who also wrote and helmed the 2011 film Crazy Stupid Love,
00:30are in final negotiations to pen and direct the movie,
00:34centering on Batman villains Joker and Harley Quinn.
00:37The film is described as a criminal love story,
00:40according to one source, featuring the two murdering maniacs
00:43who are cornerstones in the Batman mythos.
00:45One insider offered this,
00:47an insane and twisted love story when Harry met Sally on Benzedrine.
00:52Hmm, I would love to see Billy Crystal on that.
00:54Would he be any different?
00:56Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are due to reprise their roles
00:59as the popular DC villains whom they played in 2016's Suicide Squad.
01:03Additionally, the project falls within Warner's main line of movies
01:07based on their DC properties.
01:09That includes the current picks released and in production
01:11that feature Ben Affleck as Batman,
01:13Henry Cavill as Superman,
01:15and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman,
01:17among other characters who collectively form the Justice League.
01:21Warner Brothers is simultaneously beginning to develop a line of DC-related films
01:25that will fall outside the established cinematic universe,
01:28which sees actors and storylines threaded through multiple movies.
01:32That's where the Joker solo movie is being developed
01:34as a potential directing vehicle for the Hangover filmmaker Todd Phillips.
01:38We're not sure yet, but we think it might look like this.
01:40Okay, that was just too easy.
01:42That one is intended to star an actor other than Leto.
01:45So much Joker, so little time.
