00:00Martha Stewart is answering the age-old question.
00:04When do you take down your Christmas tree?
00:06Because it's usually no later than January 6th.
00:09Right. It's a hotly debated topic.
00:11It really is.
00:12When do you take it down? A lot of people keep it up for what I think is too long.
00:15She is the queen of decorating, right?
00:18Queen of decor, baby.
00:19Right. So she is the definitive source that can clear up this confusion.
00:24We actually saw Martha Stewart this week in New York City.
00:28She was heading in to do Jimmy Fallon's show.
00:30On the way in, we asked her that very question.
00:34I could not disagree more with her, though. Watch this.
00:36Martha, we gotta ask, how long is an appropriate time to keep up your Christmas declaration?
00:41Forever. Forever.
00:42I love that.
00:44What are you doing for the holidays?
00:45We're having a wonderful family time.
00:49That is a wild answer. Forever?
00:51You cannot leave up your declaration forever. I don't care.
00:55The issue about forever is, like, there are other holidays.
00:57Christmas is the best holiday, but, like, go through February, and then I guess, like, Valentine's Day comes on the holiday.
01:02Right.
01:02So then you can start celebrating other things, but I think, like, February 1st, it's gotta be good.
01:06You're, like, barbecuing on, like, July 4th.
01:08You're gonna leave it up all in January?
01:09Yeah, probably. Like, January's pretty depressing, so, like, I want something to make me happy.
01:12Also, is she, hold on, and she's now, she is pushing for artificial trees, too, because you're not keeping a real tree up.
01:20No, you can't.
01:20You're gonna, you know, have branches.
01:22Who has real trees?
01:23Oh, my God, I mean, just being brilliant.
01:24I've never had a real tree in my life.
01:25I like Clark Griswold it.
01:26I like Clark Griswold, that sucker, yeah.
01:28I can't live like that.
01:29But the smell is stunning.
01:29My dog peed on my fake tree this morning.
01:32So imagine if I had a real tree.
01:33Then it would water it.
01:34You don't even have to water it.
01:36I think I would, like, dehydrate it.
01:37But I do think, I do think, I'll try it with my real tree this year.
01:42The one Christmas thing we need all year round is Christmas cookies.
01:43I can eat Christmas cookies all year round.
01:45Now, that's not controversial.
01:46What's a Christmas cookie?
01:47Yeah, what is a Christmas cookie?
01:48Cookies that are specifically baked for Christmas.
01:50Yeah.
01:50Yeah, I've got these, like, I've got this little, like, gun thing that makes, like, Christmas tree-shaped.
01:55You can have, like, peppermint cookies, gingerbread cookies, like, different sugar cookies.
01:59But sugar cookies that are shaped like a reindeer taste a lot different than, like, a round sugar cookie.
02:02It makes it taste better when they're, like, a Christmas shape.
02:04Yeah.
02:05What?
02:05I'm glad you're on board that way.
02:08Oh, yeah, so with the cookies, I'm there.
02:10So, all right, well, keep your baked tree up forever, I guess.
02:14Now, when...
02:15During the Jimmy and Alan interview, Martha told us about quite an experience she had at the Knicks game.
02:20Here you are sitting courtside.
02:22Oh, you found it?
02:23Yes.
02:24Uh-oh.
02:25See those open-toed shoes?
02:26Yes, talk to me.
02:27Never, ever wear open-toed shoes to a game like that when you're sitting on the floor.
02:34Tell me what happened.
02:34Because Jalen, who's now, like, super-duper...
02:38I mean, isn't he doing really well this year?
02:39He's the best player in the NBA.
02:40Yeah, he's crushing.
02:41He is so great.
02:42He is.
02:42So, Jalen Brunson, I have the Brunson fracture.
02:45He stepped on my big toe on this foot.
02:47That's why I'm wearing open-toed shoes, because it's the only kind of shoes I can wear now.
02:51Because I can't wear...
02:52He stepped on, and he broke your toe?
02:54He broke my toe.
02:55Have you got to speak to him and tell him...
02:57I told his parents.
02:58I met his parents.
03:00How is she going to ride him out to his parents?
03:03His parents, by the way, his dad is a Knicks coach.
03:06He's an assistant coach on the team.
03:08So, these are rich people problems.
03:09So, like, sitting courtside and get your toe broken.
03:12He probably sent her, like, a nice, like, bouquet of flowers or something to apologize.
03:15She also got him in her lap.
03:16Like, I would love to get a bad boy player in my lap.
03:17I would take a broken toe to get him in my lap, for sure.
03:19If that really could land in my lap, absolutely.
