00:00Malcolm Jamal Warner's mom Pamela sat down with us weekly to talk about her heartbreaking loss
00:05and how she is coping months after the beloved actor died. She tells us in the latest issue,
00:10I'm doing okay. We had conversations prior that I see now were really goodbye conversations.
00:15That has made it a little better for me. I can't think of anything I wish I could have said to
00:19Malcolm. On July 20th, the star of The Cosby Show drowned on a Costa Rican beach after getting caught
00:25in a riptide at the age of 54. He was traveling with his wife, Tanisha, and their eight-year-old
00:30daughter who witnessed the tragedy, but was not, despite early official reports, in the water.
00:36Pamela tells us that she is at peace because there is nothing you can do about it. However,
00:40she doesn't know how she will be six months from now saying, I'm going to miss him. And as the onion
00:45peels and the layers come up, I'm sure I will go down a rabbit hole or two. Maybe I'm still numb.
00:50Pamela recalled the day she found out her son had passed away from Malcolm's best friend,
00:54saying she completely lost it and yelled so loud that her neighbors came running out of the house.
00:59She tells us the level of grief is something unimaginable. Pamela spoke to Malcolm while he
01:05was in Costa Rica saying, when he got to Costa Rica, he sent me a video with him and his daughter.
01:10I was thinking he'll be home on such and such date and he's having fun. That was how we left it.
