00:14That Tua Tungvaluah was indeed the mitigating factor with this offense.
00:18They asked him, is it possible he could be benched?
00:20The quote that he gave was, everything is on the table.
00:24Apparently he wasn't lying because earlier this morning,
00:27the Ian Rapp report made the report or gave the report that Quinn Ewers,
00:32former Texas quarterback, Longhorn quarterback,
00:34will indeed be the starter this week for the Dolphins versus the Cincinnati Bengals.
00:41$54 million they're paying him guaranteed next year.
00:46$54 million.
00:49Yeah.
00:50What a bleep show that wound up being.

00:55That's what the story is.
00:57And it goes back to, if you're going to pay a quarter,
01:00and it'll never change because the agents are so good and quarterbacks who are good enough,
01:05but maybe not great.

01:08He was good enough where you'd be like, okay, we can keep him around.

01:12But you got to pay him that money.

01:19And I'm not, I'm still not sure that contract is great.

01:29I feel like there's two things that have converged.
01:31Obviously you have the likes of Tua Tungvaluwa,
01:33where that second contract is entire.
01:36It looks atrocious, not just bad, atrocious.
01:39And then you also pair this with the likes of Geno Smith,
01:42who you've seen, who you're seeing this weekend.
01:44I believe, according to Pete Carroll, seems like Geno will be the starter,
01:49but more so Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield.
01:51You're seeing these quarterbacks that we had previously,
01:53who would have looked like,
01:54looked at as at most a stopgap quarterback for a year to look more viable as
02:00options versus these guys that you feel like, oh man,
02:03is he right about the old, what I used to call the Andy Dalton line of just a
02:07guy that you got to keep no matter what, just because he's,
02:10he's good enough.
02:10You're not going to find another option.
02:12I think that those two trends in the national football league converge to a
02:16point where you go,
02:17maybe I don't have to force myself to give Tua Tungvaluwa extension.
02:20Maybe I go and I find one of these guys and see if I can make this work for

02:27because you can end up like the Browns because people saying that about Baker

02:35General managers and owners are afraid to look, to be embarrassed.

02:59And, and it's just, man, it's so tough.
03:03The thing with Tua, he's probably, I mean, we named a lot of quarterbacks.
03:06He's probably one of the worst out of all the quarterbacks because we used to always talk about Kirk Cousins, how, you know, he played good enough and then playoff time.
03:15And then he's a wall.

03:17But man, Tua, it don't even look like he could be a starting quarterback at all.
03:22And then add in the head injuries, the history of injuries.

03:33All of the weird comments that he's made, the meeting that they had, that was like a players only meeting, but also they were litigating in the media, you know, who was invited and whether or not people were showing up and all that.
03:43And then he just is so goofy where I think it was highlighted, that interception that he threw and who was it?
03:50It was Jalen Ramsey that got him where he went up to him after there.
03:54I'm trying to remember who it was that got him on the interception.
03:56He goes up to him and tries to dab him up after the game.
03:58It's just, it's all of the uncomfortable things on top of the very, very short play.
04:02He was laughing with Jalen Ramsey after the game.

04:05Kind of rubbed people the wrong way.

04:07And that's, that's been the thing that he's done.
04:09And so like the inability to read the room, in addition to being this bad, it's, it's been really problematic for the dolphins.
04:15The thing that I constantly look at is I know people are like, this was an awful, this was an awful selection and definitely even more so an awful extension.
04:23I can't really say much on the extension when it came to the selection.
04:27I still remember, like, we don't have to lie about the history.

04:32I think that hip injury that he sustained, what was it?
04:34Ole Miss that robbed him of so much.
04:36That's going to go down in my book as one of those injuries that robbed us of, of, of, of a lot of talent to be able to watch in sports.

05:12You know, it's a lot, it's a lot of tape out there to show that, hey, this ain't quarterback right here.

05:23They have, no, they're officially out of the playoffs, too.

05:26Both of these teams, them and the Bengals that they'll be playing.

05:30They began, after a horrible start, they began to kind of show some things offensively, scheme-wise,

05:39I think he's going to be around.
05:41And now it's just a matter of writing this out.

05:44And one thing I will also remind you, in most circumstances,
05:48the head coach doesn't get to flat-out bench dude with this much money
05:51without having some insight from either general manager,
05:54which I don't think that they have run right now, or ownership.
05:57I have a feeling that this one was run up the chain to see how this would go.
06:02Better check in on that one before you make a decision.

06:09I think Mike McDaniel stays, and I think he has an opportunity to do something pretty good.
06:12The question then becomes, because this will be actually the first time that he gets to,
06:17I imagine, he gets some say in who his quarterback is,
06:19because he comes in and inherits Tua Tungvaluwa.
06:22And we know there's only so many jobs.
06:24Sometimes you just got to say that you like what the position entails.

06:37He inherited him, and for a while he did the best he could with him.
06:40I am so intrigued as to what a very clear, really good play call in the National Football League,
06:47as he's been able to innovate with this team that we've looked at that has not actually been that good,
06:51what he does when he has an opportunity to maybe more or less have some input
06:56as who the signal caller is for him on offense.
06:59That is the thing that I'm most interested in moving forward with the Dolphins next season
07:04is who is their starting quarterback, because I think with this move,
07:07it's abundantly clear that it will not be Tua Tungvaluwa.
