00:00You're testing me on the HSC result. It was last century. I think it was around 90 was the, I think it was TR was the measurement in those days. Right now, how do I use that and how does it come into life? Well, the education I got at Figge High has set me in good stead for university and now in terms of making sure that I can consider all of those things and take the problem solving and research approach that I had to use in many of my HSC subjects into my role.
00:30As a local member and as a minister.
00:32I'm Fiona Seymour. I'm studying chemistry and biochemistry up at UCEDD. I got 89.95. And for me, I think my ATAR was useful. For me, it was just a show of how much effort and work I put in, which I think is really important in the science profession and going into research and things like that.
00:49Hey, I'm Bailey. I do frames and trusses in a warehouse for builders and stuff. Yeah, I didn't really go to, I left school in the night. So you don't really need your ATAR to do much. Like you do, but you don't. But it's, you can get wherever you want if you try.
01:04Hello, my name is Lynn Etch. I'm a minister of religion and the head of the Salvation Army in Wollongong. And I also teach at the Salvation Army's College of Higher Education. I actually didn't get an ATAR. I left school early. I was only 15.
01:20Not sure academics was my thing, but later actually came back to it, did a degree and a master's. I have a doctorate now and teach at postgraduate level in the area of Christian mission. So missing my ATAR might have been disappointing at the time, but actually has not been a barrier to being able to go back, study, love study now, love teaching now and feel that it's been a real blessing.
01:44Hi, I'm Ashley. I am in mental health and disability support. I completed my year 12, but I did not sit my HSC, so I did not receive an ATAR. I went straight into my disability support work and I absolutely love it.
02:01I did not need my HSC to complete my disability support, but I am now currently doing more certificates to further my support work career and get more knowledge in my current field.
02:16Hey guys, I'm Jaylen Bohr, 22 years of age, currently a carpenter. Did not actually finish high school, did not get an ATAR.
02:26Not really relevant because of the path I chose. And if you're sort of looking at thinking, oh, I'm not the best in school or I learned in a different way than writing pen to paper.
02:37A trade is definitely for you or something else is definitely for you. I do recommend it. But yeah, not much of a fan of school to be 100% honest. Definitely found my calling elsewhere.
02:49My name is Carly. I finished my HSC with an ATAR of about 75. I currently now work here at Sikona as a lab coordinator.
02:58My journey into my career started off with a Bachelor of Arts. I dropped out of that first year because I wasn't passionate about it.
03:06And then I worked full time for several years, returned to university as a mature age student and I started my science degree.
03:15I fell in love with chemistry and I graduated at 29 with my Bachelor of Degree with Honours.
03:25And now I work in industry and I've been working in industry for the last three years.
03:30I got discouraged with my family. I was born in my career seven different her responsibilities.
03:36It makes meå…¥ate the team and that's my team and I got a team.
03:40So now I'm going to talk to the team and see that a team bunny as a team as a team of,
