00:18President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced that around 130,000 balikbayin boxes will be returned
00:25to their rightful owners before Christmas.
00:27During the inauguration of new facilities at Mino Aquino International Airport Terminal 3,
00:33he revealed that these balikbayin boxes, which had been left high and dry at the Bureau of Customs
00:38for nearly a year, were due to unpaid fees by the shipping companies.
00:42The boxes sent by overseas Filipino workers were stuck in limbo because of this issue.
00:47The chief executive promised that the government would pull out all the stops
00:51to ensure the speedy release of the boxes, emphasizing they were not government property
00:56by off the OFWs.
00:58He stated that the process of returning the boxes has already begun.
