00:00Glee stars react to Cory Monteith's Emmy Awards Tribute.
00:05Hey guys, I'm Elena Scantlin for ENTV and HollywoodLife.com has all the details.
00:11Sunday night's Emmy Awards took the time to honor four actors who had passed away this year,
00:16including Glee's Cory Monteith. His co-star Jane Lynch took the stage for a special individual
00:21tribute.
00:22Cory was a beautiful soul. He was not perfect, which many of us here tonight can relate to.
00:27His death is a tragic reminder of the rapacious, senseless destruction that is brought on by
00:34addiction.
00:35Lynch was the only Glee star to make an appearance at the ceremony, but it was clear that Cory's
00:39McKinley high pals were watching as they tweeted their reactions. Kevin McHale wrote,
00:44Beautiful tribute, Jane Marie Lynch wonderfully said. Miss that boy, Cory Monteith.
00:50Jenna Ushkowitz gave credit to Lynch for taking on the difficult task of honoring their co-star,
00:54writing simply, Beautifully Done. Cory's tribute sparked some controversy even before the show
01:00aired, with family members of other deceased actors questioning whether or not the 31-year-old
01:05deserved his own special acknowledgement outside of the regular In Memoriam video reel.
01:11The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik defended the Academy's choice to single the Glee actor out,
01:17telling the Associated Press,
01:18Cory had a very special place in our cultural history this year. It's such a hard thing to handle
01:24either way. Different people are honored for different reasons.
01:28As we previously reported, Glee will air its own tribute to their fallen co-star during its
01:33upcoming season five, which premieres this Thursday on Fox. I'm Melina Scantlin. To stay up to date on
