00:00Sadly not. These are the highest level of unemployment we've had for five years,
00:05highest since the pandemic, and they're the result of the Chancellor's choices.
00:09If you tax jobs, which is what she did by putting lots of tax on businesses
00:13through increased national insurance, then you destroy employment.
00:17They've talked down the economy when they came into office,
00:19a terrible chaos in the run-up to the budget, which further damaged the economy,
00:23all this speculation they were briefing and leaking.
00:26And, of course, they've borrowed and spent vast amounts of money,
00:28which has stoked inflation, interest rates higher than they would otherwise have been,
00:32which has also weighed down on the economy.
00:34So, sadly, I'm not surprised by the unemployment numbers we're seeing.
