Lebanese citizens expressed prayers for peace, healing, and stability. “May God keep wars away and bring back those who are absent,” said one resident, reflecting widespread hopes for a calmer future. Others spoke of joy, recovery, and unity during the holiday season. The celebrations come amid a fragile regional calm after Israel and Lebanon agreed to a U.S.-brokered ceasefire in 2024, following more than a year of cross-border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. While tensions remain and both sides have accused each other of violations, the holiday atmosphere offered a moment of relief and optimism for many Lebanese families.
