00:13Hey guys, it's Ali for Hollywood Life with more updates in the wake of last weekend's
00:17tragic loss of NBA superstar Kobe Bryant.
00:19TMZ reports Sikorshi, the manufacturer of the helicopter Kobe was flying in,
00:24is actively taking steps to make their aircraft safer.
00:28The site says a terrain awareness and warning system was an optional feature until 2005,
00:33and Kobe's copter was not equipped with one because it was built in 1991.
00:37Sikorshi are now reportedly reaching out to customers of the older S-76 models
00:42and urging them to add the safety measure immediately.
00:45But alright, from about 2005 to 2007, Smush Parker played alongside Kobe
00:49as a starting point guard for the Lakers.
00:51But despite working so closely, the two notoriously didn't have the best relationship,
00:55especially after Smush left the Lakers and said playing with Kobe was an overrated experience.
01:00The two would go on to fire shots at each other in interviews for years,
01:04but now following the loss of the NBA superstar, Smush told TMZ he wishes they could have buried the hatchet.
01:09You know, if I could verbally speak to him, I would verbally apologize to him.
01:13You know, be able to look a man in his eyes and, you know, say,
01:18take into account his own faults for, you know, an issue is, you know,
01:26the greatest thing a man could do for another man, you know,
01:29a looking man in his face and say, you know what, I was wrong and I'm sorry.
01:33But okay, let's go from Smush to Shaquille O'Neal because he will reportedly be going forward
01:37with his plan to have a Super Bowl party in Miami.
01:40But now, all the proceeds will go towards Kobe's charity.
01:43Shaq said,
01:44And speaking of what Kobe would probably want,
01:55LeBron James has reportedly returned back to work.
01:58He was spotted with Anthony Davis at the Lakers practice facility yesterday,
02:02gearing up for their game this Friday.
02:04Adding to this, TMZ reports the Lakers are planning to pay tribute to Kobe in some way at tomorrow's game.
02:09However, the details are still being worked out.
02:11But okay, yesterday afternoon, Vanessa Bryant made her first public move since Sunday
02:15and changed her profile picture on Instagram to one of Kobe and Gigi smiling as they embraced each other.
02:21Later in the afternoon, Vanessa broke her silence in a lengthy Instagram caption that stated,
02:25My girls and I want to thank the millions of people who've shown support and love during this horrific time.
02:30She went on to say,
02:31There aren't enough words to describe our pain right now.
02:34I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved.
02:38We were so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives.
02:41Vanessa acknowledges the great loss suffered by the other families involved in Sunday's incident
02:45and announced Mamba on 3, a new fund set up by Mamba Sports Foundation
02:49to help loved ones of the other seven victims.
02:52Vanessa ended by thanking the public again for their prayers
02:54and asked for the respect and privacy she and her family need as they navigate this new reality.
02:59We'll include links to the Mamba on 3 fund down below for those who want to donate.
