NE win streak is over. Pats up 24-7, then Josh Allen happened.
Second half? Brutal. Was it more on coaching, or the players? Did Pats take their foot off the gas- What went wrong? #NFL
Transcript
00:00Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, 35-21, 35-31.
00:06Everybody's here this morning.
00:07Courtney, Curtis, Coach Wiggins.
00:10Coach, where are you emotionally this morning?
00:13You had a great game plan for the first half, and then the second half,
00:18you just, I don't know what happened.
00:20You decided not to show up.
00:22Defensively, you allowed 35 passing yards to Josh Allen in the first half,
00:27and then in the second half, you let him go out there and throw four.
00:29I think it was like $1.58.
00:31Same when you look at the Russian.
00:34It just was one of those games.
00:36I don't know what happened in the second half.
00:38Offensively, defensively, you couldn't stop anybody,
00:40and offensively, you were like 3-0, 3-0, 3-0.
00:43Yeah, I mean, Mike Vrabel was blaming it on missed tackles and penalties,
00:49but it did seem like to the novice eye that that was two different football teams,
00:56the first half team and the second half team.
00:59Which is confusing, because I'm sure Mike Vrabel was prepared for the Bills
01:03to come out in the second half and perform better,
01:05because the Bills do perform better in the second half.
01:07So that was something that I would have thought that they were better prepared for.
01:11It just felt like they lost steam in a way.
01:14Yeah, you gave this away.
01:15Yeah, you were in a great opportunity, and I had thought that this was perfect for you.
01:22You win this football game.
01:23I thought Denver was going to lose, but for some reason,
01:27Bo Nix didn't show up yesterday.
01:28It was John Elway who went out there, and he looked spectacular.
01:33Bo Nix looked really, really good yesterday.
01:36Right.
01:36So, yeah, Denver clinches.
01:40They're a playoff team.
01:41You are not yet.
01:44However, it's one loss, and there were some.
01:48We talked about this when we were doing the show with Ken and Scheim yesterday.
01:51Scheim, some wanted this football team to lose a game like that yesterday.
01:55Yeah, you don't want to lose like that, though.
01:57Like, losing a game is one thing, but losing like that is tough.
02:00That was a kick in the nuts.
02:03Like, that is how every team felt when they came to play the Patriots,
02:07when they had a better record than the Patriots,
02:10and then the Patriots were like, you know,
02:11we don't really start our games until the Thanksgiving holiday anyway,
02:15so we're going to win, beat you, and embarrass you.
02:17The second half was awful.
02:19I put so much of that on coaching.
02:22Like, the conservative approach on offense, the manner in which, like, I don't know.
02:27I know that you don't like to waste a timeout,
02:29but there were some moments where, like, the Allen offense was just, like, churning.
02:34Yeah.
02:35Like, maybe call a timeout, figure something out.
02:37I also was frustrated as hell.
02:39Like, you're up 24-7, and then it's 24-14.
02:45Yeah.
02:45And it's like, you had the double pass.
02:47You had all these creative offensive plays in the first half,
02:50and you had owned the game,
02:52and it was like the coaches took their foot off the gas,
02:55the players took their foot off the gas.
02:56You had the merchandise in the last half.
03:14But you had a major foundation.
