00:05The Fault on Our Stars actress broke the news in a new interview with New York Magazine,
00:09where she recalls a moment back in March when she was promoting Divergent on The Tonight Show.
00:14So here's what went down.
00:15Jimmy Fallon asked how she felt about being compared to The Hunger Games star, and she responded,
00:20Comparisons always lead to despair.
00:22The audience proceeded to boo her because, well, you know,
00:26it's practically a crime to say anything even remotely negative about Jennifer Lawrence.
00:30But Shailene did get a chance to explain herself by saying,
00:47The segment ended up getting cut from the interview,
00:49but Shailene told the mag that it's not going to stop her from speaking her mind again, saying,
00:56And for the record, Shailene really does have love for Jennifer,
00:59as she previously revealed to MTV News that Jen's the reason she even signed on for Divergent in the first place.

01:06Do you feel like Hunger Games was a smart decision just for your personal life?
01:10And she was like, you would be a fool not to take it.
01:12Some things change.
01:13Don't make a sex tape.
01:14Don't do drugs.
01:15Don't go to Whole Foods when the movie opens.
01:17Hearing that from her was really grounding and sort of made the decision so much easier
01:22because I do respect her and her choices.
