00:00There goes the revs and the gate will drop in South Africa.
00:08And it's McElrath up the inside.
00:11A carbon copy start.
00:13You see Ansi to the outside.
00:15It's Enzo Lopes in second.
00:17There's Cole Thompson, Maxime Desprez.
00:20You got Park and Hicks in the top six.
00:23Carbon copy of Mono 1.
00:25Will we get the same result?
00:27And Enzo Lopes looks like he really wants his part.
00:31Oh, Desprez is down.
00:32Thompson over the top of him.
00:34And it looks like some moisture was added to the corner.
00:36Every one of the boys had a rough go through that.
00:39McElrath almost put it on the ground.
00:42Here's the difference, though.
00:44Ansi is now ahead of Lopes.
00:45A lot earlier than he was.
00:47A moto will go.
00:48This one's on.
00:48Max ran it in after that rhythm section.
00:52Maybe that answered our question.
00:54And Max Ansi is going for the win tonight.
00:58Ansi off the Dragon's back.
00:59Lopes right behind him.
01:01Let's take a look at what one did.
01:02Watch Shane.
01:03Watch Shane.
01:04Slides.
01:05Good save.
01:06Ansi drives Lopes deep.
01:08And then comes the carnage.
01:10Looks like Kyle Peters and Cody Shock take advantage of the inside.
01:13How?
01:14How did Shane McElrath not hit the deck just then?
01:18Because that's a man who wants to win so bad.
01:20Needs to win so bad.
01:23And he stays up.
01:24You see him a lot more cautious into the corner of that lap.
01:26Yeah, he took it all the way to the edge end.
01:28That is crazy.
01:29I cannot believe he stayed up.
01:30We're on for the win tonight.
01:34Oh, and he wants it so bad.
01:36He said this season has not been what he expected, what he wanted.
01:41But every race is an individual opportunity to showcase who you are.
01:46And there's a one on that bike for a reason.
01:48He was fantastic a year ago.
01:50And if he can end this season congratulating Ansi.
01:54Hey, good job this year.
01:55But I'm ending this on top.
01:57That would be a statement going into 2026.
01:59Yeah, that sets up the rivalry that goes into next year.
02:04It swaps to Max.
02:05Does it go back to Shane the year after?
02:07I tell you what.
02:08Shane is ripping right now.
02:10But Max's body language is completely different in this second race.
02:15And he sits back about 1.8.
02:19And I'll tell you what.
02:20It was dry today in qualifying.
02:22They've added a lot of moisture to keep that dust down.
02:24This is a different type of slick.
02:27And it looks like the boys are kind of having to adjust right now in the moment.
02:30And Max has been going to that outside line all day and carrying so much momentum through the outside.
02:36We saw him pass Enzo there.
02:38He has not switched that line at all.
02:41Staying disciplined to the line he knows.
02:43The line he likes as Shane McElrath continues to put clean laps down, a 54.3.
02:49But Anstey with the fastest lap of the race, a 54.2.
02:53He's warming up.
02:54And this, we've got four.
02:57We're halfway through this thing.
02:58And we have a lot of racing to go.
03:01I've got a feeling that we might see that last turn action coming into play here.
03:06Well, I love when you look at a track map and you start picking apart where the opportunities might come.
03:10And when a track crew builds one that has a big old 180 right before the finish line, I mean, it just sets up for dramatics.
03:19And if Anstey can get himself a little bit closer, the battle will be on as the laps wind down.
03:26McElrath, 1.7 over Anstey in a fight between the defending champ and your new 2025 World Supercross champion.
03:34And this is for second in the championship.
03:37As I look at the board, Cody Schock is in fourth place.
03:40That is your battle for the second place overall in this world championship.
03:45And right now, Shane is looking like he wants that place.
03:48McElrath, one point up on Schock in standings.
03:52Three more if it stays as is.
03:54The battle between Lopes and Schock is pretty tight, under two seconds.
04:00There's Schock, you see, going to the outside.
04:01And for Enzo Lopes, a solid season, highlighted by a big win in the main event last week in Sweden.
04:08And wow, was that dramatic between the Rick Ware Racing team, his mechanic.
04:12I mean, they were just sick and tired of hearing about Max Anstey's perfect season.
04:18He took care of it last weekend.
04:19And I just love that Enzo is riding with an entire country.
04:24On his back, you follow World Supercross on socials, and you will just see Brazilian flags littered through the comments.
04:31When we have a round in Brazil, it is going to be insane.
04:36This is like the Justin Bieber of Brazilian motocross.
04:39I cannot wait.
04:40Please take us to Brazil.
04:41He would love that a lot.
04:43Even though I will say his toughest race of the season was Buenos Aires, Argentina.
04:49There was a lot of fans there for him.
04:52He was getting pulled left and right all night long.
04:54Sometimes the hometown crowd elevates you, and sometimes they distract you.
04:59But this man in Sweden was undistracted.
05:03Not even sure if that's a word, but hey.
05:05Well, they're the best of the rest right now.
05:07These two have absolutely checked out.
05:11But Shane Mandarath is holding tough up front.
05:13I really think that you saw Max throw everything at it.
05:17Lap 2, 3, and 4.
05:19Although he does still look like he's charging.
05:21He's pushing.
05:22You see him rip that outside berm.
05:24But, Jay, sometimes I think as a rider, when you give it everything you've got and you get no reward,
05:30you start questioning what you're doing.
05:32And this man has just been flawless.
05:34I mean, it's just clean.
05:35It's calculated.
05:37The bike looks like it's working perfect.
05:39And that lead is now stretched to 2.1.
05:42And these are two of the good guys in the sport.
05:45You want to see guys like this do well.
05:47They represent this world championship so well.
05:50Shane, a former champion of this series now.
05:53Max, a two-time champion.
05:55We've got him out front.
05:56You're going to see these guys battle so hard, so clean all night.
06:01And, man, Shane has really been through this season.
06:03And this has just got to feel so good to be leading these laps.
06:06So far, a perfect night.
06:07But as I say that, Max Airstie is starting to reel him in.
06:12From 2.1 to 1.5.
06:15It's closing down.
06:16He is running out of time.
06:18One lap to go.
06:21And he would have to have an amazing lap.
06:23Now, that was his best.
06:24Max goes 54.0 to Shane's 54.5.
06:29So that's a half a second, which means if he does it again, I mean, you're a 1.5 down.
06:34You're going to need to not only get to him, but you're going to have to pass him, too.
06:38So for Shane McElrath, be smart, be solid, and this one's yours.
06:42Yeah, he is just running out of real estate right now.
06:46Shane has not put a foot wrong.
06:48But I'll tell you what, he does look closer, though, doesn't he?
06:50Yeah, we're down to 1.4.
06:52Wow.
06:53At the next sector time, we'll get a...
06:56Yep, now down to 1.
06:57He's got a half a second and half a lap.
07:00We talked about those 180s.
07:02We've been talking up this finish line all night.
07:05Could it happen?
07:06I don't know.
07:07I'm close enough.
07:08Shane nails the corner, looks over his shoulder.
07:11Oh.
07:12It would have had to have been dirty.
07:14Shane McElrath wins sprint race number two of the 250s.
07:18Right, right.
07:20And what a charge by Max Anstey.
07:23And luckily for us, we've got one more to go in SX2.
07:26The main event will be a 12-lap race to close down South Africa.
07:32This one is far from over.
07:34Enzo Lopes third.
07:35Cody Shock forward.
07:36Looks like Kyle Peters.
07:38Colin Park.
07:39Cole Thompson at 5.67.
07:42Hicks eighth.
07:43Kelowna Humphrey with a top ten at ninth.
07:45Nice ride, Kelowna.
07:46And Robbie Wageman in tenth.
